Su Wei Yan understood his suspicion but he still said, "Well, I don't know how to assure you but that is the truth."
He then raised his hand and gestured for his men to put down the weapons. This was a misunderstanding and there was no reason to be in a tense situation any longer.
"Old Su! Do you dare to swear on your only son's life that you know nothing about this?" said Old Master Shenlong as he narrowed his eyes on his nemesis.
Old Master Su snorted, "Who is afraid of who! I swear on Wei Yan's life that I know nothing about this!"
He then turned to his son and said, "Go get me something to eat! I'm hungry."
"Old Su! Don't change the topic. Do you understand the consequences of what she had done?" asked Old Master Shenlong with a serious face.
When he heard the serious tone coming from his old nemesis, Old Master Su stood up and with his hands behind his back, he paced around the foyer. After a while, he said, "She chose to start a war with the Shenlong Family so she has to pay for it."
Su Wei Yan knew what his father was about to say and he said nervously, "Dad, please, no. She's just being stupid. I'm sure we can come to a compromise."
Old Master Su shook his head and said with a sad tone, "She's already a mother. As my eldest and as my only daughter, I've protected and pampered her long enough. From the time she was born, I gave her whatever she wants. It's time for her to take responsibility for her own actions now. I'll no longer be risking the lives of my men for a stupid child like her. I'll just take it that I've never had a daughter before."
Old Master Shenlong nodded. He turned around and said to Callum, "We'll go back for now. Old Su, I hope you won't try to keep her hidden."
After they left, Su Wei Yan dismissed his men. Once everyone had left, he turned to his father and asked, "Are you sure about this?"
Old Master Su said, "Did you see the men that he brought?"
Su Wei Yan nodded, "So what? If push comes to shove, we can still fight back. I don't believe"
Old Master Su interrupted him, "He brought all the first rank men in Shenlong Family. Those men would keep plowing through even if they lost a limb. He meant business..."
As he turned and walked with his son back into the house, he said with a sad tone, "Your sister's biggest mistake was to touch his grandson's woman. Shenlong Yan Huang was his favorite son and I heard that he had always had a soft spot for his youngest grandson, Shenlong Xun. That was why he allowed him to stay with the Du Family."
Su Wei Yan snorted, "I heard that it was because Du Jin gave him no choice."
Even though they could not confirm it, everyone heard rumors about Du Jin giving Old Master Shenlong an ultimatum and that the former crippled off one of the Shenlong Family's overseas businesses.
Old Master Su laughed softly, "If he wants to, he won't care for Du Jin."
He then turned to his son. As he looked at his youngest child who he raised strictly, he sighed and wondered if he had raised his daughter in the same way, would she still turn into what she was today?
With a wrinkled hand on his son's shoulder, he said, "Give up on your sister. I know you care about her, but she went overboard this time. If you try to help her and that crazy man finds out, I can guarantee you that he would lead his team himself to get rid of everyone here."
"I'm not afraid of him," said Su Wei Yan with a serious face.
Old Master Su glared at his son for insinuating that he was afraid of the Shenlong Family.
However, in the end, he merely sighed and looked away. His son was born 15 years after his daughter. Su Yan Xi was responsible for the care of Su Wei Yan when they were younger. Thus, Old Master Su understood why his son still wanted to protect his sister despite knowing that she was wrong.
As he gestured for them to go up the stairs, he said, "Neither am I… But I don't want my grandchild to grow up without a family."
If he was still all alone in this world, he would fight Old Master Shenlong to the end of the world to protect his own daughter. However, now that he had family and a little one that would be coming along, he did not want to risk it. He had given her many chances, including that time when she took some of his men to hurt a poor, defenseless woman.
After he found out, Old Master Su had scolded her and cut her off financially for a few years but it was as if she had never learned from her mistake.
When they were up on the second floor, Su Wei Yan asked sadly, "Dad, are we really giving up on Yan Xi?"
Old Master Su saw the reluctance on his son's face. The family was everything to people like them. he thought for a while before saying, "We can't help her… but we can warn her."
When his son looked at him with a confused gaze, the old man continued, "Send out the news and make sure that it spreads out. Su Yan Xi is not allowed to return to Su Manor."
Su Wei Yan understood. His father was trying to avoid helping her but at the same time, he was warning her to stay away from the Su Manor. It was the least they could do for her. The Shenlong Family would definitely keep an eye on the people who were working for the Su Family. It would be dangerous for her sister to return home.
The best thing was to warn her to stay away.
....
While in the car, Old Master Shenlong warned Callum who was sitting at the backseat with Han Ye and Shenlong Yuan, "I'll handle it. I'll talk to my people. The moment there's any news, you'll be the first to know. Don't go and provoke the Su Family on your own."
Callum groaned, "I know. I'm not an idiot."
As he turned around slightly to look at his grandson, Old Master Shenlong smirked, "I don't believe you."
He ignored the glare from his grandson and said, "Anyway, when am I meeting my future granddaughter-in-law? Is the baby alright? Are you taking good care of her? Is the baby a boy or a girl?"
Recalling the lie that Shenlong Yuan told their grandfather, Callum was speechless. He looked at Shenlong Yuan and Han Ye but they both avoided his gaze. No one had an answer.
After hesitating for a moment, Callum said softly, "Erm… Yeah. Everything is great. Anyway, just let me and Han Ye down here. I want to go to the hospital."
"We'll go with you," said Old Master Shenlong. He turned back to face the front before saying with a smile, "I can't wait to see my future granddaughter-in-law. She has better be a beauty. Your father has great taste. I hope you do too."
Panicked, Callum quickly shook his head as he said, "No No! It's fine! She's shy and it won't do her any good if I suddenly show up with strangers. I'll let you guys meet when the time is right, but at the moment, she's not strong enough to meet someone as impressive as you, Ye Ye."
He pressed on the words, "Impressive" and "Ye Ye", which he rarely used together. Usually, he would just call his grandfather as "Old man" or "Old fart".
Old Master Shenlong sighed. A pregnant woman's emotions would affect the unborn child. He knew it from having to go through two pregnancies with a homicidal wife. It was all his fault for falling in love with a crazy assassin who tried to kill him.
In the end, he waved his hand and said, "Then, send my regards. Tell her that I'll see her soon and tell her to take care. Don't let her drink too much ice water. It's bad for a pregnant woman. If she wants anything, just buy it for her. Don't be stingy. She's carrying your heir."
"Yes, Ye Ye," said Callum politely. He was not about to risk having his grandfather meet Ghost.
When his grandfather was not paying attention, he exchanged glances with Shenlong Yuan and they both sighed in relief. They had to keep the lie going, at least until they found Mrs. Luo. If their grandfather found out that they lied to him, who knew what the old man was going to do?
He glared at his cousin and he spoke through his eyes, "What am I supposed to do now? Where am I supposed to find a pregnant woman?!"
Shenlong Yuan wrinkled his nose as he replied through his eyes as well, "I don't know! It was urgent and that's all I can think of at that time!"
As if he could understand them, Han Ye sighed and thought, "The blood definitely runs thicker than water because these two are thick as hell..."
