Meanwhile, at the restaurant, Old Master Shenlong was looking at his future "granddaughter-in-law" from top to bottom. He had just arrived with Shenlong Yuan not long after Callum arrived at the restaurant.
His father might be disinterested in joining but Shenlong Yuan was very interested. He had tagged along to see what his cousin would do to get out of this dilemma.
When they walked into the room, the woman that Callum hired stood up and greeted Old Master Shenlong and Shenlong Yuan.
When he saw Callum brought a girl, Shenlong Yuan was surprised by it. He had honestly thought that Callum would put Ghost in a dress and made him masquerade as a girl.
After a while, Old Master Shenlong nodded in approval and said, "Good girl… With such a gene, my future grandchildren would not be too bad…"
"Thank you, Ye Ye," said the woman.
Old Master Shenlong looked at the woman's stomach and asked, "Is it a boy or a girl?"
"A boy, Ye Ye."
"Great! At least there would be another heir to our Shenlong Family," said Old Master Shenlong. He looked at his youngest grandson in disgust for a moment before turning back to the woman. With a gentler tone, he said, "I hope that your son would not give you as much grieve as what my son and grandson did."
Callum knew that Old Master Shenlong was angry at the fact that Callum still refused to move back into the Shenlong House.
"Stubborn old man…" murmured Callum.
"Idiot grandson…" said Old Master Shenlong.
"Erm… Why don't Ye Ye and Cousin Yuan sit down? The dishes are about to arrive," said the woman, Xiao Yi, politely. She was an old acquaintance of Callum when they were in university. Even though it was weird that he suddenly reached out to her after he saw her photo online, she still agreed to do this. Especially after Callum said he would pay for everything in relation to the baby up until the baby turned 5 years old.
Xiao Yi did not really need any money, but she was curious as to what he was up to. Hence, she agreed to help out.
Old Master Shenlong was impressed with her manners. In his mind, his youngest grandson had the manners of an ape, and it was sad that this woman had to deal with Callum every day from now on.
Not long after everyone sat down, the dishes arrived. Eight waiters came in one by one. Since Old Master Shenlong knew that his future "granddaughter-in-law" was pregnant, he told the manager of the restaurant to be more hygienic. As such, all the workers in the restaurant, from those working at the tables to the ones in the kitchen, had to wear a mask.
Once they placed the dishes down, four of them left the room while the other four stayed at the corner in case their guests needed anything.
"Xun."
Callum, who was about to eat, looked up at his grandfather. "What?"
"Take some of the dishes for your girlfriend. Seriously…" Old Master Shenlong tutted. He then sighed, "I don't see how she fell in love with you."
Callum rolled his eyes before he placed some of the stir-fried vegetables, braised mini abalones, and prawns on Xiao Yi's plate.
Xiao Yi smiled and thanked him. She then took the prawns and placed it at a corner of the plate. Shenlong Yuan noticed that she dipped her chopsticks into the bowl of soup that Callum scooped for her. It was weird because all her action showed that she was a well-mannered girl and what she just did was not.
"Can it be… that you're allergic to prawns?" asked Shenlong Yuan.
Xiao Yi smiled wryly, "Yes… My dear boyfriend always forgets about it…"
Callum froze. No matter how small or insignificant it was, he remembered everything about Ghost's likes and dislikes, but he could not even remember such an important thing about this woman. He smiled wryly before he took her chopsticks away from her.
Old Master Shenlong was disappointed at how his grandson behaved and he shook his head angrily.
"Idiot grandson… Allergies are dangerous! What if something happens to the baby?" Old Master Shenlong scolded Callum.
Callum felt bad and he apologized to Xiao Yi. No matter what, she was pregnant for real and what he did could potentially harm the child as well as her well-being.
Shenlong Yuan asked one of the waiters to take all the prawn based dishes out and to replace it with some pork and beef dishes. In addition, he even personally replaced all her cutleries with clean ones to avoid any possibility of contamination.
"Thank you," said Xiao Yi politely as she nodded at Shenlong Yuan.
"Not a problem… After all, you're my future cousin-in-law," said Shenlong Yuan with a smile. He then shot a smirk toward Callum.
With his eyes, he was saying, "How can you continue to play along? Did you seriously hired a pregnant woman?!"
As if he could understand it, Callum shot a glare back at him. The unspoken words were clear: "This is all your fault!"
Just as Shenlong Yuan was about to continue eating, he saw one of the waiters staring at Callum. The waiter was massaging his left hand while he stood straight at his corner.
"Huh… Interesting…" thought Shenlong Yuan. He recognized that body shape, and he also knew that someone had a broken hand a few months back.
Feeling slightly mischievous, he smirked and took his phone out to message someone.
Not long later, the waiters came in with the new dishes.
Shenlong Yuan suddenly said, "Xiao Yi, you're shivering. Are you feeling cold?"
Xiao Yi shook her head but when she coughed a little and pulled her scarf tighter, Old Master Shenlong said, "Yuan, change place with her. That stupid cousin of yours doesn't know how to do anything…"
Callum felt wronged, but when he looked up, he saw that Xiao Yi was seated right under the air-conditioner. He then sighed as he watched Xiao Yi changed seats with Shenlong Yuan. Previously, she was seated between him and Shenlong Yuan, but now, she was seated between Shenlong Yuan and his grandfather.
"I've completely forgotten about how weak girls are…" thought Callum. He used to be a master in making girls happy, but lately, he had not even been looking at them.
Even though he was careful with Ghost, but Ghost was not weak. They wrestled almost daily when they were staying together... Mostly, after Callum tried to cope a feel and Ghost tried to kick him off the bed, or the couch, or wherever they were sitting at that moment.
With an extremely low voice, Callum murmured, "I miss him..."
He sighed softly.
The past two months when he was living with Ghost, he had been catering to the whims of the latter. Everything in the fridge was filled with everything that Ghost liked to eat. He was so used to the life with Ghost that after the latter moved back to his own place, Callum had felt lonely.
Every time he called Ghost and whined, the latter refused to move back in. It was a good thing that Callum was swamped with work or else he would have gone crazy pining over his "wife".
