"I'm what?"

Nian Jiezhen asked in surprise.

Ren sitting was on a chair beside her bed and was holding her hand. He was nervous since he knew that Nian Jiezhen did not like the idea of getting pregnant.

"Pregnant..." He repeated, "The doctor said that you're pregnant."

She turned and placed her other hand on her stomach. Nian Jiezhen knew it inside that she was.

No... to be in fact, she made sure she was going to be pregnant.

Yes, it may sound a bit selfish but during that time, she feared that Daniel Wu might try and force himself to her if he ended up capturing her again.

If Ren Shiyuan didn't come that day, who knew... Daniel Wu might have raped her that day already.

She ended up squeezing Ren Shiyuan's hand at that thought.

Ren Shiyuan misunderstood her reaction tho. Nian Jiezhen has gone through hard times, even if he wanted to keep the child so badly, he decided not to force her. He has already decided to accept whatever decision Nian Jiezhen has.

It was painful, yes. But she matters most to him. He didn't want to trouble her if, in the end, the child was going to cause trouble for her.

When she saw how stupid he looked, she ended up chuckling.

He must be really surprised with her wanting the child, right?

And with that, Ren Shiyuan snapped out from his trance.

In the next second, he has already stood up and was now hugging her happily, "Thank you, Jiezhen..."

Ren Shiyuan felt like crying because of how happy he was at that time. He slowly reached out and placed his hand on her tummy, "I'm going to be a father..."

The thought of it was pure bliss for him. He was going to have a child. They were going to have a child.

Just then, a knock interrupted the two happy couples.

Dale and Jeremy entered only to see Ren Shiyuan hugging Nian Jiezhen.

She lightly pushed Ren Shiyuan's face away from her. Nian Jiezhen was blushing shyly since she was caught that way by her friends.

Jeremy and Dale didn't say a thing but they just smiled.

Ren Shiyuan finally released Nian Jiezhen from his hug so that he can face her.

The excitement in his eyes was noticed by the two.

"I'm going to be a father!" And just like that, Ren Shiyuan couldn't hold the news in.

Jeremy's eyes bulged out, "W-What?!"

Unlike Jeremy, Dale was surprised but he was able to gain his composure at once. With a smile, he greeted, "Congratulations, Mr. Ren, Mrs. Ren."

"Shit! We need to throw a fucking party-"

"Language!" Ren Shiyuan suddenly said with a scolding glare at Jeremy. "I do not want my child to hear such dirty words!"

Everyone ended up looking at Ren Shiyuan because of his words.

"Um... I don't think that's possible." Jeremy turned to Nian Jiezhen.

She nodded in agreement, "The baby's too small to hear anything..."

"So what? You don't know that!" Ren Shiyuan pouted, he went back and hugged his wife by her waist in a protective manner.

They all ended up having a sweatdrop because of Ren Shiyuan's exaggeration.

He sure was in his father mode already.

While Dale and Jeremy were talking with Nian Jiezhen, Ren Shiyuan received a call from his mother that's why he went out to answer the call.

"I heard that you were able to save her."

"Mm..."

The news about capturing Daniel Wu was all over but Nian Jiezhen's name wasn't mentioned even once. Ren Shiyuan made sure to keep Nian Jiezhen's situation hidden from the media.

"Can I come and visit?"

"Not now... She's going to be discharged today. You can visit us tomorrow instead. I'll give you the address."

"Okay."

"Mother..." Ren Shiyuan said softly.

"Yes?"

He inhaled deeply, "I'm going to be a father."

Sun Lingzi was quiet for a while. She was obviously surprised by the news.

Not long, a soft chuckle was heard from her side, "And I'm finally going to have a grandchild. Congratulations, Shiyuan."
