Ch-154
Michelle felt nervous for every step she took. She doesn't know what to do without Nicholas by her side. As she moved forward, the memories and fragments of her schooling went by like a movie in her mind. She felt her legs turned to jelly and was about to lose her footing but at that someone caught her keeping her steady. "Thank you," she mouthed and turned around only to see who the person was.
"I can walk!" she said as she broke free from his grip and took quick strides to the private hall. The man quickly took a few big strides and stopped her from going ahead.
"Jason Miller, What's the meaning of this?" she asked.
"I just don't understand. You hate it then why did you come here? Do you still don't want to lose a single chance to see me? Never thought you are this pathetic. Sadly, I am engaged. Unlike you she is a beauty and of course not a scrap seller," he said.
Michelle wanted to slap him with her high pencil heel and push her heel from one side of his brain and get it out from his other side of the brain. She can't show his anger on him, if she does then it would mean, he words were still affecting. She hid her irritation from him and gave him a big smile. "Congratulations on your engagement," she said as she showed her best smile which was sickeningly sweet, making the nerves on his forehead twitch.
"I will go inside. You should have brought your fiance here. I would like to congratulate her too," Michelle said as she went past him and entered the room.
The noisy room which was silent went quiet all of a sudden. "Sorry everyone, I was late due to the traffic," Michelle said to them in an attitude that said her sorry was just a perfunctory. There was only one empty seat, which meant it was for her. She went there and sat down and greeted one by one. Many people brought their partners, and she greeted them politely as she waited for Nicholas. It's already been ten minutes since he picked the call. She was getting tensed about this as seconds passed.
"Hi everyone, It's been a long time since we all gathered. I can see most of you are happy. I am also happy that many of you are married and settled down, and had a perfect life. Few of you brought your partners. I am glad to meet you all. Since I met all my partners, I will show my fiance. We both were engaged for three months right now. We are going to get married next month. I will send an invite to all of you. Thank you in advance," he said as he bowed his head. His fiance he was standing beside her looked beautiful and pretty but something about her felt off. But she didn't care, she long ago dumped her feelings towards Jason Miller. She bowed her head to everyone with a slight smile. She looked like a white rabbit who was easy prey. Her temperament gave off a feeling which made everyone protect her. She looked beautiful, scaredy-cat, docile, the replica of a green tea bitch. Michelle felt them as a match made in heaven. She snickered in their direction. She knew the real face of this bastard, marrying a woman was not the type he loves to fool around. There must be something behind this marriage, if not for that this thing like marriage wouldn't have happened.
"Michelle, since I am already engaged you should give up on me. You should find a good man and date him. I belong to someone else." Jason said as he turned the whole venue attention towards her as he tried to put her in the hot soup. Michelle didn't expect Jason to be this shameless and couldn't wait to embarrass her.
"Mr. Jason Miller, are you mistaken or something like that? I had a boyfriend. You bumped into me at the entrance didn't you see him dropping me? He is even more good-looking than you. And to the point, I changed, my tastes also changed…. For better. Please don't think too highly of yourself. Yeah…. I agree I was foolish in my schooling. Do you expect me to be foolish all the while?" Michelle said without holding back.
She had enough of this nonsense. She let them stamp over her for so many years, not now anymore. Jonas, who was standing in the middle of everyone, felt his blood boil.
[This lowly woman, how dare she speak like that to me!? I will teach her a lesson] he gnashed his teeth as he thought.
His fiance, who was standing beside, felt anger coursing through her veins. She made many plans to seduce him but now she has a rival. She decided to get revenge on her. But she forgot the words said by Michelle just now. She was grateful that she brought the powder with her.
"Michelle, you don't need to act like that. I only saw you, you should get over me," he said proudly.
"Since Mr. Jason Miller says I am lying about having a boyfriend, Please wait a few more minutes. He will be here in five more minutes. He went to pick a call, he should be done by now," Michelle said.
The murmurs among the crowd erupted like a wave.
[I don't think she has a boyfriend?]
[Who knows? She said to wait for five more minutes. Let's wait,]
[Even if she had, he might be an ugly duckling.]
[She was shameless in her schooling. That was the most creepy confession I have seen.]
[Poor Jason, he felt embarrassed due to her confession too.]
Michelle wanted to throw and splash all the things around her but she controlled. [Where were you, Nicholas? Please come, I need you.] she thought. [God, please send him to me.] She prayed to god.
At that very second, the door opened and a man in a black suit appeared. He looked handsome, his chiseled features, his sharp eyes, and his neatly combed hair made him look godly handsome. His eyes searched for someone and settled on certain someone particularly. He walked towards her with a smile on his face as he tucked his hands in his pockets.
