Hearing Jean's words, Moore instantly understood what had been happening all this while.
He thought of his previous conversation with Zed and realized that the culprit had been in front of him all this time.
"I think I probably know who is behind the video incident," Moore muttered.
"What did you say?" When Jean heard Moore say this out, her eyes widened in surprise. She anxiously asked, "Who is it? Did Leo tell you that?"
"No." Moore looked into the distance pondering on how he should approach this but then he looked at Jean's face. Seeing her ill at ease, he suddenly understood why Zed had not told her the truth.
'The situation is a bit complicated.
But why him?' Moore wondered.
The man he and Jean had been looking for was right next to them. If it hadn't been for his faith in Zed's character and judgment, he would not have believed such a strange thing.
"Who is it?" Jean's voice broke his thoughts. "Moore, please tell me, I'm eager to know."
"Jean, it's not that I don't want to tell you, but that I'm not sure whether my guess is right or not. So please don't embarrass me. Believe me. There certainly will be a day when things will come to light. And that day is coming pretty soon," Moore said.
'And if there were no accidents, you would have known the answer tonight, ' he added in his mind.
Jean mulled over Moore's cryptic words.
But as she kept on looking at him for what seemed like minutes, Moore finally felt a little uneasy. He gave her a sheepish grin and said, "Jean, it's not that I don't want to tell you, but I'm worried that my guess would be wrong. By then, you would surely be..."
"I know. Since you don't want to say it, then forget it!" Jean interrupted him.
Moore looked at her carefully to see whether there was any displeasure on her face. Thankfully, she was fine.
'Perhaps, Jean has understood my reasons and finally accepted my explanation.' Moore sighed with relief.
Indeed, just as Moore thought, Jean didn't want to embarrass him any further and had quit asking him.
But one thing Jean knew well was that Moore was a stranger in H City and didn't know too many people here.
Except for a few friends of hers, there were only people in the Bai family that formed part of h
"Do you know what you did wrong? It's alright if you just wanted to own me. But you should not have helped Molly leave me!"
When Brian learns the truth, there is no chance for Hannah to win his heart.
Molly, who wants to run away from Brian, seems to be the only one to blame for Hannah's misfortune...
for a long time and then licked her lower lip to say.
"Yeah. Halfway up the hill, when I saw Calvin's suspicious behavior, I pulled Zed aside to remind him. But at that time, I didn't expect he would have anything to do with the video incident. No wonder Zed said that my idea was somewhat different from his. Jean, since you have already known the truth, let's go to Zed and talk to him?"
Moore looked at Jean and asked.
"Not for now. There are too many people here. Let's not alarm the enemy for the time being in order to avoid any accidents. Besides, if Zed knows I already knew everything, he will only be more worried about me and will get distracted in taking care of my feelings. When we get back, I'll ask him more about it." Jean looked at the orange sky though her mind was somewhere else.
"Maybe you don't have to wait until we get back." Moore looked at Jean and said, "Zed told me that the suspect would probably do something tonight.
So you have to be careful. Do you understand me?"
"Well, I see." Jean understood what Moore was hinting at.
But Moore couldn't feel relieved by seeing her so unmoved by knowing the truth.
He didn't know how else to read her silence. All he could do was keep his concerns to himself for now and keep a watchful eye on Jean.
When Jean approached Zed, she behaved as if nothing had happened. She was busy barbecuing with him, and it seemed that she was not affected by the incident at all.
But the calmer Jean was, the tenser Moore got.
