Chapter 157 - Disrespect

One of the men on the sofas was young and slightly immature so he sat forward and eyed up his mates that sat around him before announcing to the room, "Boss did you get us an upper class show tonight."

Ivy kept her icy stare on the man seated behind the desk, she didn't even flinch at the immature comment.

Teo on the other hand was young and impulsive at hearing the derogatory remark made against Ivy he acted first he took a few steps forward and reached out a hand, he grabbed the young man by his t-shirt and pulled him across the coffee table, cards flew off the table as he dragged him across it.

The man was pulled on the floor as Teo held him up by his collar. Teo gave him a single punch using all his brute force strength. The man then fell to the floor as Teo let go of his t-shirt. He clenched his fist resisting the temptation to keep punching the man. He then glanced around waiting for anyone else to make a remark but when he heard silence he fixed his suit and returned to Ivy's side.

The man in front of her then pushed the young girl off his knee, she stumbled and she nearly fell on the floor. But she stood up quickly and returned to stand by his desk chair.

The man had analysed Ivy and the men in front of him long enough, he was intrigued by the woman in front of him. He saw Kai stand at her side and he realised that the man he had tricked into giving him his money was the one who had brought her here. He was suddenly glad he had tricked the idiotic businessman.

"Out!" One word was all the man said and the two scantily clad women left the room. One even winked at Teo as she rushed out of the room.

Ivy smiled at the man in front of her, he was an insignificant fly in Noah's world but for Kai, she was here to get this partnership dissolved so he could be free from the underworld business. That world was not for Kai.

Seeing her smile the man saw how blindingly stunning she was, "May I know your name and why you have come to my empire?"

Ivy smirked at him as she replied, "Ivy, Ivy Hughes. You may know my friend Kai here. I am here to get you to release Kai from any entanglement with your clan. He is not part of this world and you know it. Go and embezzle from someone else if you can."

The man laughed, "Ivy lovely to meet you. My name is…"

Ivy interrupted his speech not giving him the floor, "I didn't ask for your name, did I. Now hand over the contract that binds Kai's business with yours."

The men on the sofas stood up as they were insulted when their boss was interrupted. But their boss on the other hand loved her spunky and feisty attitude, her lack of respect was refreshing. He held up a hand and the men backed down at the signal.

Anyone who dared come into his club to meet him had made an appointment to speak with him. But she marched into his club and into his private club room only to be disrespectful and demanding.

He smiled but it didn't reach his eyes as he continued, "You have some guts I'll give you that. But in here I make the rules, you can listen or you can leave."

Ivy folded her arms and replied to him with the same icy stare, "I'll leave once Kai has his contract and you never bother him again."

"Now Ivy I have let one of your men hit one of mine because he disrespected you. Now you keep insulting me in return, how are you going to compensate me? And on top of the disrespect you have shown me you make demands, how are you going to sway me I wonder?" He sat forward and smirked at her. He hoped she would give herself to him as a trade for the contract.

Seeing straight through a man like him she gave a light chuckle in return, she was about to speak when Kai held her arm and whispered into her ear, "Come let's go, it's ok."

"No," Ivy answered and she then turned to the man seated behind the desk. She wanted to reply to him, "I came here for one reason only and that was to get Kai released from any entanglement he has with you. We can do this the easy way or hard way."

Her threat made the man's eyebrow twitch, she was still feisty even as he pushed her. He smiled as he answered, "Why don't you stay and we can discuss this in private."

"Oh… so you would prefer a private beating?" She smirked and continued, "Well I'll only have to disappoint you. I am not interested in being within a meter's distance with you."

The man's face fell, yes she was beautiful and feisty but he had had enough of her insults. He looked at his men and they stood in formation.

Seeing that the chit chat was over a genuine smile crossed her face. She had been training with Thomas for months now. She wanted to put her skills to the test. She was sure between Thomas, Teo and herself they would come out unscathed. She only worried for Kai, she didn't know if he had learned how to defend himself since school.

Thomas who had been quiet all along cracked his knuckles along with a smile and stood in front of Ivy. If anyone was going to attack he would be the first to eliminate them. Ivy having to fight was only a last resort in his eyes.

Teo put his hand in his pocket and put his silver knuckle duster on his hand prepared for what was about to happen.
