The next morning Ivy woke to the sound of her phone's alarm going off. She squinted her eyes and opened them. The sun had just about risen and was shining rays of light through the curtains. She reached out her hand and turned off the alarm, silencing the buzzing noise.
Ivy weirdly sat up and looked to her right, Noah was gone. She left the cold crisp sheets and knew that he had left long ago. Ivy stretched her arms and removed the soft duvet from her legs as she stood and stumbled to the bathroom.
Ivy quickly got a shower and put kn some light make up for the day. Wrapped in her white robe she went to the large closet and looked through the racks of clothing. She picked up a burgundy blouse and a black pencil skirt. The skirt stopped at her knees and had a zip at the back that went from the top of the skirt to the bottom.
She picked up a pair of black heels and left the bedroom, happy with her look she entered the living room. When she walked in she aww Teo and Thomas. She dropped her heels and engulfed Teo in a tight hug.
"How have you and auntie been keeping?" Ivy asked, she was genuinely happy he was there for her and glad she didn't have to put up with a guard she didn't know.
"I'm good and my mum has recovered thanks to you. She baked you some breakfast muffins as a thank you." Teo and Ivy broke their hug and Teo indicated his head towards the muffins on the kitchen counter.
"Mmm yummy, tell auntie thanks and she didn't have to." Ivy then picked up her heels and put them on one by one. She smiled at Thomas once she had finished and greeted him, "Morning."
"Morning Ivy, are we going to the office today?" Thomas inquired.
"No, we are meeting Tony to go see some new properties," Ivy announced and grabbed a breakfast muffin for herself and handed the rest of the basket to Thomas before walking out.
Matteo and Thomas followed quickly after into the lift and down to the underground car park.
Ivy got in the backseat while the two boys sat up front. It was a forty minute drive to the first villa that she had arranged to meet Tony at.
Pulling up she saw Tony leaning against his car. His blonde hair swept back and wearing a navy blue suit with a red tie.
Teo stopped the car and parked not too far away he got out quickly and opened Ivys door for her. Thomas, Aiden and Noah had given him all a separate talk in regards to Ivys safety and his responsibilities and of course, he really liked Ivy and owed her a life debt he would of course look after her.
Ivy thanked Teo and got out of the car and approached Tony.
"Morning Ivy, look we match." Tony smiled at her as she approached.
Ivy was confused then released her burgundy blouse that matched his tie. She smiled but did not comment.
"How many have we to view today?" Ivy got straight to business.
Tony stopped leaning against the car and stood beside Ivy he knew she was hard to approach. She always had her guard up.
"Five all together." Tony titled his head and saw two very disgruntled men standing stiffly behind Ivy, "Friends of yours?" He remarked.
"Yes, this is Thomas and Matteo." Ivy then walked into the villa she didn't feel the need to inform Tony further.
They looked around the first villa and chose not to take on the project. The second was an old apartment building that they chose to renovate them into a condominium. They arrived at the third property and Ivy got out and entered alone with Tony.
Ivy was very efficient and didnt waste any time at the properties so she had instructed Teo and Thomas to hang back.
Inside Ivy was processing the view, landscape and putting a development plan together in jer head when she heard a beep.
Beep
Tony checked his phone and looked a bit upset and he furrowed his brows and walked to Ivys side.
Ivy glanced at him and didnt want to ask what was wrong after all it wasn't her business.
Tony scratched the back of his head and sighed, "Ivy you know I like you a lot... And not just as a friend. I..."
Ivy cut him off she wanted to avoid this situation as she saw him purely as a friend, "I am engaged."
Tonys mouth dropped he then looked down and noticed the sparkling huge diamond on her ring finger. He frowned and showed Ivy his phone, "He doesn't deserve you... Look."
Ivy glanced at the phone not thinking anything but a gossip page announcement would be on it, they were always putting Noah with some supermodel or celebrity.
But when she saw a few pictures she grabbed Tony's phone from his hands and hurriedly clicked on each. She opened each and slowly scanned through each picture.
It was of Noah and a woman, the new governor to be exact. She knew the photographs were misleading and we're taken at that angle on purpose. The purpose was to sell headlines and create a scandal and of course everyone would want to read about Noah.
What annoyed her wasn't the photographs taken at a promiscuous angle but because Noah had allowed the Governor to approach him that closely. She couldn't help her jealousy when if her rational mind told her nothing possessed happened or would happen. She trusted Noah but no one wanted to see their partner so close to someone else. Especially if that person was drop dead gorgeous.
She handed Tony back his phone and managed a small smile, "I'll need to look at the other properties another time. Take this one but go two hundred thousand below the asking price."
