One week has gone by since defeating the vampire lords and every kingdom in the reformed alliance celebrated our success, I told all the kings personally that I didn't want my involvement in our victory against the vampires being known to the public, because I don't want to deal with getting recognized when I want to do normal things in public, and they have all agreed to my request, I stand in front of King Dave in his throne room and he says.
"Collin Belfaust, I'll keep your participation in our victory from public records, but your name will still go down in history, along with Ying and the others."
I nod.
"I understand."
he stands from his throne and says.
"come and walk with me, I want to us to have a little talk."
we walk out of the throne room, and take a little stroll in the courtyard under the solar eclipse, where King Dave says.
"I wish my dad was here to witness our victory over the vampires."
I reply.
"yeah, and I'm sure he would have been proud of what you accomplished since taking his place as king."
"you think so?"
I smile and nod.
"of course, you became a figurehead of the alliance quickly, and managed to keep it together this while time."
he sighs.
"well I have you to thank for that, this alliance wouldn't have worked out without you around."
as we continue walking around, I ask.
"so what did want to talk about?"
he responds.
"I want to preserve this alliance for as long as possible."
"that's good to know, but why are you telling me?"
he answers.
"well while you were gone, me and the other kings made plans about the future."
I ask curiously.
"and what are those plans?"
he replies smiling.
"we want to open alliance magic academies that will train, Humans, Demi-Humans, Dwarves And Elves, just like how it was, before the great war with the Dragonoids happened."
I reply surprised.
"wow, that is great."
"but why are you telling me?"
he responds
"remember what was the conditions that my father set for you, after you finished serving prison time?"
I reply.
"yeah, that I would train young magic knights in the academy under him and King Ryan."
he smiles and says.
"well we still expect you to do that, but I also want you involved when we eventually open an the alliance academies."
I respond.
"well as long as I get paid, I wouldn't mind taking the job."
"good that's is what I wanted to hear."
as we start making out way back to the palace, I ask King Dave.
"so when do I start training magic knights at the academy?"
he answers.
"I wanted you start soon, but a lot of noble households are against this decision and are giving me a hard time for it."
I reply.
"but you are king, your decision is final no matter how much they protest."
he sighs.
"I know, but I'd rather stay on their good side, so I came up with a solution, that will satisfy a few of them."
"so stopping the vampires, wasn't good enough for them."
I then ask.
"so what will you have me do?"
he replies.
"you will spend a year completing quests for the adventurers guild, and once you reach their highest ranking level, you will start training magic knights whether they like it or not."
I take a deep breath a reply.
"no problem, I can do that."
we both then enter the palace and right before going our separate ways his says to me.
"oh and by the way, the laws that prevent interspecies relationsh.i.p.s have been abolished in alliance held land."
"what?"
he smiles.
"now go and be with your family, you've earned it."
excited with the new, I quickly head towards my private quarters, where Ellena is hugging her father, King Lexur notices me and leaves with a smile on his face, I then think to myself.
"the defeat of the Vampire lords have left everyone in a good mood lately."
and before I got to say anything to Ellena, she hugs me and gives me multiple kisses filled with passion, I then ask her smiling like a goof ball.
"what's happened?"
she answers.
"I've got good news, father just told me the laws that prevent interspecies relationsh.i.p.s have been completely abolished."
I reply.
"yeah, I know, King Dave told me before I came here."
she rests her head my shoulder and asks.
"do you what this means?"
I respond.
"yeah, I get the idea."
she continues anyway sounding very excited.
"we don't have to hide our relationship, we can get married, we can have more children together, and more importantly, we would be left alone."
she kisses me once again and whispers in elvish,
I stare at her blankly, not knowing what she said to me and I ask.
"what does that mean?"
she replies.
"it means, I love you."
Hope also shouts with pure joy in elvish.
"I love you!"
as she wrap her small arms around my legs, I close my eyes and think to myself.
"just enjoy this moment Collin."
Ellena and Hope both spent a good amount of time trying to teach me basic elvish, until someone knocks our door, I then shout.
"come in, it's open."
Celeste brings inside, Gresnor who is in a wheelchair, I then ask.
"how are you feeling?"
he replies.
"other than the fact that I can't walk, I'm feeling great."
I turn my gaze at the ground and apologize.
"I'm sorry I couldn't stop Lord Vernon."
he responds.
"don't blame yourself, we all knew the dangers and harm that would come to us."
I ask curiously.
"so what do you plan on doing?"
he answers.
"I'll be retiring as a warrior, and return home, to see if I can keep tensions from escalating any further."
I ask.
"are you going to stick around for the award ceremony tomorrow?"
he answers uninterested.
"no I'm good, since they are not going to publicly acknowledge your involvement in it, I don't want any part of it, and besides, I already know that they plan on building a statue of Ying Zhu for defeating Lord Vernon and the other vampire lords."
I reply.
"well I'm not to keen on gaining fame, so I told the kings to keep my involvement off public record."
he asks surprised
"are you serious?"
I nod.
"yeah, I never did any of this seeking to be famous, or to go down in history as a hero."
I pause and look at Ellena and Hope.
"I did it for them."
he smiles and
"I always knew you were good man Collin, I've never met a human like you in my entire life."
he sighs, taking a moment to collect his thoughts, but still chokes up on some of his words.
"it's rare for someone like you, to exist in our world, and it makes feel honored knowing that you see me as a friend."
he reaches and shakes my hand.
"if you ever need something, you can always call on me."
I reply.
"same goes for me."
he looks at Celeste and says.
"well I've said my goodbyes, take me home."
but before Celeste wheels him out, Ellena approaches him and plants a kiss on his cheek and says.
"thank you."
he smiles.
"take care of him for me, yeah?
she nods and then Gresnor gets wheeled out, Ellena grabs my hand and says.
"let's go sleep, we don't want to wake up late for tomorrow's ceremony."
we go to sleep and wake up with the sun shining through the balcony doors, I then ask Ellena.
"wasn't the sun still blocked yesterday."
she nods.
"yeah I think so, but I guess Leonard finally figured out to make it permanent."
we change into fancy formal clothes that the king's maids left for us, before we woke up, and start making our way to the throne room, where all the kings have gathered at, and then King Dave says
"oh good you've, arrived just in time for the ceremony."
I ask looking around the throne room.
"where is the crowd?"
he answers.
"no need, because we found someone with the hero's blessing capable of broadcasting at multiple locations simultaneously."
he clears his throat, as the young female magic knight with blonde hair chants something to herself and then King Dave and the other kings address themselves to their subject, and start announcing individuals who they deemed worthy
of an award, while I think to myself.
"this is so boring."
it keeps on going for a good hour or so, until we finally get to King Dave.
"and last but not least, Ying Zhu the number one hero has shown why he is the best amongst all of the heroes by as he is responsible for the downfall of the vampire lords."
I think to myself.
"wow he really is building up Ying."
he continues talking.
"because of these reasons his name will go down in history alongside, the other great heroes, and a statue will be built in his image."
we finally leave the throne room together until we are stopped by Celeste, Selshruuk, and Felnor, Celeste says to me.
"Master Collin, Gresnor arrived home safely."
I reply.
"Good."
I then ask all three of them.
"so what are your plans moving forward?"
Selshruuk answers.
"you have a heart of a warrior, that is worthy of following and I will continue to do so moving forward."
Celeste replies.
"I will also continue to follow you Master Collin."
Felnor cat tail wags and agrees.
"I feel the same way."
I smile and reply.
"okay, whenever I need you guys, I'll have Celeste contact you."
I shake both of their hands.
"this is goodbye for now, so go enjoy this well earned peace that we achieved."
they both nod and take their leave with Celeste who will drop them off, wherever they want to go, and at least King Dave comes up to me and as he hands me a set key, he says.
"here you go, a gift from me to you."
I ask curiously.
"what is it?"
he responds.
"keys for a house, just outside the walls of Grezia."
I reply.
"thank you."
he waves his hand like it was nothing and says.
"no thank you."
Me, Ellena, and Hope walk out of the throne room together, feeling good on the bright future ahead of us.
