Chapter 140 - Prodigy

I make my announcement, quick and to the point,

and as I step off the stage of the auditorium, I ask Gregory.

"how did I do?"

he pats my back.

"you did good, Collin, now all that is left, is for you to start training the first batch."

I reply.

"I guess it's time to meet them."

Gregory places his firm hand on my shoulder and says.

"hold on to you horses, the auditorium announcements are not done yet."

I chuckle.

"well I knew that."

"just do what you did at Corpus for two years and you'll be fine."

as I make my way to the training grounds of the magical academy a run into an old friend of mine, Ying Zhu.

"hey, what a surprise seeing you here."

he replies.

"well, I was just looking for you."

I ask curiously.

"why?"

he answers.

"where there is this pupil, that I've been training these past few years, and this year will be his last, before becoming a full fledge magic knight, and it looks like you will be training him in his last year."

"so you want me to oversee his training personally."

he shakes his head.

"no, quite the opposite, he has grown very arrogant, and I want you to humble him."

I ask.

"why me?"

he responds.

"no instructor, has been able to discipline him."

I ask.

"what about you?"

"I would, but since I'm already considered the strongest, his ego doesn't get hurt when I discipline him."

I sigh and asks.

"and what makes you think he'll get humbled by me."

he replies.

"trust me, that kid will get humbled by that physical strength you have become known for."

I ask.

"okay I'll do it, but do you know when I get him?"

he answers.

"he is part of the first batch."

"so pretty much right now?"

he nods.

"yes."

I ask.

"can you give me his name at least?"

he responds.

"Cecile Dortan."

as he walks away, I ask.

"how does he look like?"

"you'll know when you see him."

I grumble to myself.

"that doesn't help me."

I sigh and continue making my way to the training grounds, where I spot, the first batch of students that I'll be training, for ths first hour of the day, I then think to myself.

"alright, let's get this over with."

I walk up to them and say with a stern tone.

"Welcome to your first day of training, I am Collin Belfaust your instructor and I'll be with you until you become full fledge magic knights."

I then hear a low chuckle in the back of the group, I look for the perpetrator and ask.

"who is chuckling?"

"it was me."

a young man, with his black hair parted to right, and with a partial goatee, emerges through the middle, he looks me straight in the eyes and says with the same c.o.c.ky tone.

"your training, is most likely not up to par, for someone of my caliber."

I get immediately annoyed by the tone of his voice, but I try not to show it, and reply calmly.

"alright then, please explain to me why, my training, that was approved by the human kings of the alliance, is not up to par, for someone like you."

the students seemed to be surprised, that I was challenging him, he notices this and says while rubbing his chin.

"well if you must know, I was born with the hero's blessing, and that on it's own puts me on higher level than everyone else here."

I then think to myself.

"this must be the kid, that Ying was talking about."

I smile and ask.

"am I right to assume that you are Cecile Dortan?"

he gives me a smug smile and replies.

"yes, but of course you would know, someone important like me."

I sigh to myself.

"this kid is already getting on my nerves."

I reply.

"well it doesn't matter who you are, because you will go through the same training, like everyone else here."

I then signal the group of students inside the training grounds, and proceed to say with a stern tone.

"let's go, we are wasting valuable training time."

obviously bothered with what I said, Cecile responds with disgust.

"who in the hell, do you think you are? talking to me like the rest of these peasant and uncouth people."

I sigh and reply.

"I have no idea, what Ying sees in you."

he chuckles.

"he sees that I'm the future number one hero, and has taken an interest in putting me under his wing."

I roll my eyes and think to myself.

"this kid, is really testing my patience."

I contemplate my time back at Corpus and start missing my time there, because I didn't have to deal with any students with an ego as big as this kid, I then reply to him.

"look I don't care, you are here with me for the next hour and I expect you to listen to me, while you are here."

he glares at me, and asks.

"how about you and me fight one on one right now?"

while the other students, have a worried look on their faces, I smile.

"and why would I do that?"

he replies with so much hatred and disgust.

"I only listen to people stronger than me, and because I want to teach you a lesson for mouthing off to me."

not intimidated, I walk up to him and reply.

"alright, if you really want to fight me, I'll give you what you want, but on one condition."

he asks.

"what would that be?"

I answer.

"if I win, you will keep your mouth shut whenever you show up for training."

he grins.

"of course if I win, I will not be participating in your useless training sessions."

I reply with confidence.

"deal."

I then turn my attention to the other students and say.

"I want you all to pay attention to this little sparring session, and you might learn something new."

Cecile laughs.

"sparring session? this is going to be a legitimate fight."

I ignore him and continue talking to the students.

"go ahead and find a seat."

after they all find their seats, I ask Cecile.

"how about we set up some ground rules?"

he responds.

"huh? you already trying to handicap me amd my abilities?"

I shake my head.

"no, just putting up the rule, of no killing allowed."

he replies sarcastically.

"oh yes, of course, I wouldn't want to accidentally kill my dear instructor."

I reply with serious tone.

"no, it is meant to keep me from killing a student with a bright future ahead of him."

he angrily replies.

"I've had enough of your shit, let's get started already."

I prepare to fight and reply.

"alright kid, make sure you don't hold back, if you don't want to get seriously injured."

I then think to myself.

"don't go overboard."
