Chapter 155 - Indirect Force

Mo Xingjuan couldn't believe what she had just heard.

Mo Xingjuan looked at Tang Hu as if she was silently asking whether what she had just heard was true or not.

Tang Hu nodded towards her and raised his collar proudly and winked at her.

Mo Xingjuan rolled her eyes at him and respectfully said "Thank...Thank you Old Madam." and gave a hug to Ding Jiaye.

Ding Jiaye was pleased when Mo Xingjuan said 'Old Madam' . It seemed that her early demeanor taught Mo Xingjuan a good lesson as to whom should be respected in this house. So now Ding Jiaye was assured that she could handle Mo Xingjuan.

"What Old Madam? Call me Grandma." Ding Jiaye happily said as it wouldn't be good to maintain a strict demeanor in front of Mo Xingjuan all of the time. After all, Mo Xingjuan would bring many benefits to their family in the future, so it wouldn't be a loss to treat her a little better.

When Tang Qiu heard his mother's approval, he didn't hesitate to change his behavior towards Mo Xingjuan as well.

"Welcome, Xiao Juan. I hope you will become a part of our family soon." Tang Qiu happily said.

In that instant, Mo Xingjuan's expression changed. She liked Tang Hu and wanted to live her life with him, but marriage… 

She didn't want to marry now!

Tang Hu was about to say something, but before he could say anything he heard Ding Jiaye's declaration after her son's statement. "Of course, why don't we have their engagement party this week?"

Tang Hu knitted his brows and looked at Ding Jiaye as if he was reminding her about his conditions.

Ding Jiaye caught Tang Hu's attention and rightfully said "What? It is okay if you don't want to marry now, but you haven't talked about anything regarding the engagement, right?"

Did Tang Hu really think Ding Jiaye would wait for one year to take advantage of the Mo Family? If that was the case then he must be dreaming!

So what if she couldn't force Tang Hu and Mo Xingjuan to marry now, at least she would let them get engaged so that society would know about their relationship with the Mo Family and so that society would treat them even better.

"Grandma, we will discuss this later. There is no need to rush right now!" Tang Hu knew that he couldn't retort Ding Jiaye regarding this in front of everyone so it was better to delay this conversation for a later time in private.

"Why not? I don't want to take a risk and leave any hope for other men to pursue our beautiful daughter-in-law by delaying the announcement to the whole world that Xiao Juan is going to be our daughter-in-law, right Xiao Juan?" Ding Jiaye glanced Mo Xingjuan intensely so that Mo Xingjuan wouldn't able to deny her statement.

Ding Jiaye knew that Tang Hu wanted to delay things so that he would be able to get the chance to delay engagement as well. However, Ding Jiaye wouldn't let him do so, she indirectly forced Mo Xingjuan. If Mo Xingjuan would agree then Tang Hu wouldn't be able to say anything.

It seemed that Ding Jiaye's trick worked!

"Yes Grandma, you are right!" Mo Xingjuan replied with a forced smile on her face. Although she was unhappy with this, engagement was better than marriage, right?

Moreover, Mo Xingjuan didn't want to create more trouble for herself by rejecting Ding Jiaye's idea.

"Good! Xiao Hu, go to the Mo Family tomorrow and invite them for dinner for tomorrow night. We will discuss the rest of the things with them. Now, come on let's eat!" Ding Jiaye commanded Tang Hu.

Ding Jiaye was pleased with Mo Xingjuan's response, so she treated Mo Xingjuan with extra care by filling her bowl with food regularly.

"Xiao Juan, Eat more, you look so thin!"

"Yes, Grandma!"

Mo Xingjuan happily accepted the kind gesture of Ding Jiaye and then looked smilingly towards Tang Hu. Happiness was clearly visible on her face.

Miao Jing caught Mo Xingjuan's happiness and an incident flashed in her mind. Ding Jiaye had also taken care of her at their first meeting. In fact, Ding Jiaye would treat her well after her marriage with Tang Qiu for a time.

After the dinner, Mo Xingjuan left the Tang Mansion happily with Tang Hu. Throughout the journey, the smile didn't leave from Mo Xingjuan's face, Mo Xingjuan was constantly chatting about the good mannerisms of Tang Hu's family especially, Ding Jiaye.

"Juan, I am sorry. I didn't expect that grandma would bring the topic up of the engagement, but you don't have to worry, I will think of a way to delay it. You don't need to worry about it. Just focus on your studies." Tang Hu said while fixing his stare on the road ahead.

"No, don't do that Hu darling! Moreover, it is just an engagement, not a marriage and I think grandma is right. We should let the world know that you are mine and I am yours." Mo Xingjuan said.
