Qian Meng made a whining sound at the back of her throat as she shifted onto her knees and crawled to the edge of the bed, towards him.
"Do you really have to go? Ah, I want to spend the weekend with my husband." She didn't want to hold him back, but she was also a little clingy on these days.
She moved to kneel on the bed just in front of him, reaching for his hand.
"Why? Are you going to miss me terribly?"
She laughed as he stepped towards her, placing his hand on her hips while she stretched to wrap her arms around his neck.
"Are you fishing for some love? It's not a cute look on you, Qingchen."
"Admit it. You are going to miss me."
She scoffed. "I never said I wouldn't."
He looked at her suspiciously. "How much?"
Mo Qingchen was equally clingy, if not more.
"Now you look desperate," she teased.
He clucked his tongue. "You would have your husband desperate and craving for your affection rather than admit you will miss me terribly?" he pouted.
"Desperate and craving?" Qian Meng laughed. "Is that how you really feel?"
"Absolutely," he responded. He was always so sure of what he wanted.
"How would you like me to remedy that, baby?" she asked sarcastically. "Like this?"
She couldn't exactly reach what she intended, so she used his shoulders for support to move from her knees to her feet to stand on the bed. She crouched down to pepper his face with kisses.
"Do you want me to kiss all over you and tell you how perfect you are?" she teased as she kissed all over his forehead and cheeks and nose. "Don't leave me," she begged dramatically. "How will I live without you for two days?"
He laughed heartily, trying to swat her away.
"If I chain you down, will I have you with me forever?" she prompted cutely.
"Chain me? Feeling kinky, baby?" he laughed.
She stood up all the way and then jumped onto him, throwing all her limbs around him. He grunted slightly with the force of her leap, but caught her with relative ease with his hands cupping her ass as her legs encircled his waist.
"I'm never going to let go of you," she vowed, squeezing her arms around his neck. "And then you can't ever leave me." She bumped her forehead into his.
"You are crazy, Qian Meng."
"You like it," she said confidently.
"I do. God help me, I do." He pressed a quick kiss on her lips.
"I hope that was enough affection to last you two days, because I am worn out already."
"No stamina," he teased, bending forward until she was flat on her back. He got up onto the bed, on his knees and loomed over her.
"I will really miss you," Qian Meng said honestly.
"I know." He smiled. "And I will miss you. I don't know how I will sleep without you seducing me."
She smirked. "I'm going to call you and make sure you sleep while you are not beside me. My seductive powers are not bound by proximity, Mr. Mo. Don't underestimate me."
He nodded. "I prepared a present for you so that you don't feel lonely while I am away. Do you want it?" he asked.
Her eyes glittered but she acted modestly. "Why did you get me a gift? You didn't have to give me anything. You are my greatest gift of all."
"Cheeky little woman," he whispered affectionately. "I did get you a gift. Can I give it to you now?"
He got up off her and walked over to the closet. He opened his sock drawer as Qian Meng sat up and scooted to the edge of the bed. He returned to her with a small package. He sat next to her and handed it to her first, which she took with slight hesitation.
He looked mildly nervous. And it poked at her curiosity. She looked back over at him and he licked his bottom lip in a nervous gesture before looking t me.
"Mo Qingchen, seriously. You didn't need to get me a gift."
"Don't worry. It didn't cost me anything."
That surprised her. She didn't expect him to be someone who liked to give handmade gifts. "Okay, then."
"I don't want you to open it until I am gone and you miss me. I want you to open this when you really really want to see me. Understood?"
She blinked. "But you won't be here when I open it."
"That's okay. I want you to see it alone." He took the box from her hand.
Qian Meng watched him stand up and put the package on the top of the dresser. She was definitely intrigued to open it and find out why he sounded so anxious about the gift. It was weird.
She couldn't give it much thought because the doorbell rang.
"Oh, it must be Yize!" she said and stood up. She went over to him and touched his arm so that he would look at her again. "Thank you for the gift. No matter what it is, you don't have to be so worried. And thank you."
He turned to hug her, placing the lightest kisses on her lips. "You're welcome."
She left Qingchen in the bedroom and went down to answer the door. Xiong Hua beat her and was opening the door by the time she made it.
Mo Yize peered in and smiled. "Oh my, look at you looking cute. All rumpled from sleep," she cooed when she saw the condition Qian Meng was in.
"Thank you," she laughed. "Come in. Your brother is ready to leave already," she said with a pout.
She led Yize into the house and towards the kitchen. "As you can tell, I just woke up from my nap. I could use—" she paused briefly, surprised when she walked into the kitchen to see Qingchen. "I could use a tea to wake me up. Do you want some?" she turned to ask Yize.
