Chapter 342 - HIGH HOPES

Did he calls her 'little girl?' The fact that he sounded like he was reporting to his girlfriend had already made her blood boils, but calling her little girl really made her so furious. 

"Little girl?" Wu Charie asked. "Thought you don't have a little sister?" 

"She's the younger sister of my bestfriend." Lu Jiaosheng explained. 

"Oh, how old is she?" 

"Just 18." Lu Jiaosheng answered and thrown some glances at Lee Chin Mei. She was still holding her phone but her expression became darker. 

"She's too young. Anyways why are you with her?" Wu Charie asked.

In a normal circ_u_mstances, Lu Jiaosheng would not entertain all her questions if it wasn't for the reason that he was being entertained to see how Lee Chin Mei frowns.

"I bumped into her somewhere and we're going to have lunch at his brother's place."

"I see. I thought you don't anything to do today and would like to ask you to help check on the possible issue with the tool." 

"It's weekend now, and you're working?" 

"You know how demanding our job is. We are always on call." 

Lu Jiaosheng nodded and thought for a while. "Is it a major issue?"

"Well our developers have tried to solve it but it seems that they could not find where the problem is" 

"Okay, I don't have my laptop right now, but I can make a quick trip at home to get it." Lu Jiaosheng said. 

"Sorry if I disturb you." 

"No worries. It's my responsibility to help you with anything when it comes to our contracted tool. Bye now. I'll talk to you later." 

"Okay. Bye." Wu Charie said.

"Bye." Lu Jiaosheng pushed the end button at the car multimedia screen and he turned to Lee Chin Mei. Her face was still frowning. He could not help but pinched her cheeks. 

Lee Chin Mei was stunned. 

"Stop frowning. Let's make a quick trip at home before going to your brother's place" 

Lee Chin Mei nodded. She suddenly felt excited to see Lu Jiaosheng's home. 

She handed his phone when she realized she was still holding it. 

"Your phone. I've already saved my number." 

"Good girl." Lu Jiaosheng said as he patted her head with his right hand. 

Lee Chin Mei suddenly browsed on the internet and check if she can see anything about Wu Charie. She might be a business partner of Lu Jiaosheng by the way their conversation went on earlier but her heart could not felt at ease.

She type on the search field the name: Wu Charie.

On the top results, she found out that there was a certain Wu Charie who was the CTO of Wu Corporation. 

Is this the Wu Charie that Lu Jiaosheng talked to earlier? 

She's beautiful and a succesful executive at the age of 27.

She read her profile and could not help but got impressed on her credentials. 

If this is really the Wu Charie that Lu Jiaosheng had spoken on the phone a while ago, they seems like they were a perfect match. 

Her heart suddenly sank. 

"I've heard that you'll be taking up an IT course in college?" 

"Uhm" she responded. 

"Nice choice. Who knows we could work with each other in the future." 

'That's the reason why I wanted to take an IT course, I wanted to work closely with you. That even in codes we could understand each other'

She wanted to say but of course she just keep it to herself. 

"Yeah who knows?" She replied instead. 

"Best of luck." Lu Jiaosheng said on a teasing voice. 

"Thank you" 

"Why did you choose an IT course anyway?" Lu Jiaosheng suddenly asked. 

"I find programming interesting. And technology business is a boom industry right now. Everyone lives with technology in our daily lives now." 

"Agree." Lu Jiaosheng said. 

"Did you have a hard time when you took up IT in the University before?"

"There were some days but overall I have a fun times during my University days."

Yeah. It was because you were inlove back then so any hardship will definitely not a big deal. She wanted to say. 

"You can ask for my help in case you'll be having a hard time later." Lu Jiaosheng added.

"I will take your words seriously." 

"Yeah! I can fly to United Kingdom right away. Just say so." 

Lee Chin Mei face blushed. 

"Exaggerating!" She rolled her eyes. 

Lu Jiaosheng laughed. "So is it really final that you will be studying overseas?" He said after awhile and his expression has changed.

"Uhm" 

"What if..." Lu Jiaosheng was hesistant to ask the next question but he really wanted to know.

Lee Chin Mei was waiting for his next words and was a bit anxious by the seriousness on Lu Jiaosheng's face.

"What if you've got a boyfriend here in the country, will you still leave?" Lu Jiaosheng asked.

Lee Chin Mei made a soft laugh. 

"I'm not entertaining any suitors now and it is impossible that I have any boyfriend here before I leave for college" She answered.

So this little girl right next to him doesn't have anytime for love. She looks so stiff and doesn't have interest on any guy including him.

His heart ached.

She was really far from that little girl in Hong Kong who was so passionate. 

Is it really possible that he has mistaken?

That she wasn't that girl?

He let out a deep sigh.

And it makes Lee Chin Mei turned her head on him. 

"Why are you sighing?" She could not help but asked.

He shook his head. "Nothing. I just suddenly thought of something." 

She wanted to ask what was it but she pursed her lips and just nodded. 

She looked at the car window and they were approaching a mountainous side.

"Aren't we going to your home?" She asked.

"Yes, we're going to my secret hideout!" Lu Jiaosheng smiled. He has another home at the mountain side of the city and he usually stayed here over the weekend. Last night he went here after work. He acquired it just two months ago. No one knew this secret abode. Not even his own family.

"So when I say secret hideout, no one knows it but me." 

Lee Chin Mei eyes widened in disbelief. "So why are you bringing me here?"

She suddenly had high hopes.
