A huge tower akin to an eternal pillar that pierced the skies in the middle of nowhere, a young man was standing before its bottom while two women and several cultivators dressed in silver armor stood behind him with calm faces.
"So this is the Neverending Dungeon, huh?" Khal raised his hand to touch the pillar's surface, only to feel its ice-cold texture.
"Where is the entrance of it?" Khal asked after a while as no matter where he looked, he saw no gate or whatsoever that could make him enter the pillar.
He read about the Neverending Dungeon from his book, but except for what kind of place it was, there was no information about it, including the location of its entrance.
"It is right up there." Miss Mary who walked next to Khal raised her hand and pointed toward the top of the pillar.
"There? Interesting..." Khal looked not so surprised by this revelation as he thought about that possibility too.
After a while, Miss Mary turned to look at Khal and said, "Then as promised, they will accompany you inside the dungeon just to make sure nothing will happen with you."
As she said that, two figures, a woman and a man, walked forward and bowed at Khal.
"It's my pleasure to meet with you, Young Master. My name is Baylie, a peak Eight Stage Cultivator." said the man called Baylie.
"It's my pleasure to meet with you too, Young Master. My name is Deva, and I reached the Ninth Cultivation Stage about a week ago." the woman also introduced herself to Khal in a respected manner.
Khal looked at the two and sometime later nodded. Because he was told and also read about the Neverending Dungeon, he knew just what a scary place it truly was.
Even though he could easily kill anyone, even a cultivator on the Ninth Stage, in the First Realm, when he got to learn that creatures inside there were almost infinite in numbers and the weakest one was at the Eight Cultivation Stage, he was not confident staying alive especially when he will comprehend the meaning behind his Essence Path.
That is why, he needed someone's help while he figures out how he could unlock his sealed path, or else there was no way he would survive.
After a few minutes of silence, Khal raised his gaze toward the top of the pillar and asked, "How will we go up there?"
Although he was confident that with his ridiculous physical strength that was enhanced by the quests he was able to reach the top without problem, the same couldn't be said for the two cultivators on his side.
"Please, let me help you."
And it was exactly then when Madam Rose stepped forward and with a slight flick of her wrist, she summoned a whirlwind below Khal's, Baylie's, and Deva's feet before they were blasted toward the sky.
"Woooaaah!"
Khal was a bit surprised by the sudden change of events, but even before he could have said anything else, he watched as the three of them reached the top of the pillar in seconds and landed on it without any difficulty.
Once up there, Khal took a small peek toward the bottom, only to see that they were way above the clouds, and Miss Mary and the others were smaller than ants!
'Was that her Talent or did she use a Secret Art?' Khal wondered as he turned around, only to see the two before him waiting for him in silence.
"You guys don't need to act so tensely. Just behave the same way as you would do normally."
Baylie and Deva looked at each other before both of them nodded.
"Perfect. Then let's get going." Khal smiled and began to walk toward the stairs in the center which will lead them inside the pillar.
"It's quite dark in here..." mumbled Khal and was about to use his Hell Blaze to summon a bit of light, but to his surprise, Deva overtook him in speed and summoned purple fire around her hand, illuminating their entire surroundings with purple light.
"Oh?" Khal raised his brow with interest as he felt that the purple flames were by no means weaker than his Hell Blaze even though she didn't use them yet.
Feeling his stare Deva smiled slightly and said, "This is my Talent, called the Soul Fire. It is capable of burning the Soul instead of the body."
'So quite like my Soul Piercer. Interesting.' Khal nodded, wondering during their descent how would he counter such a seemingly invincible power.
Sometime later, after descending the spiral staircase for about five minutes, the three reached the first floor of the dungeon, which was surprisingly a green vast field without any trees, rocks, or bushes.
"There is a total of 999 floors, each bigger and more complicated than the rest before it," explained Baylie to Khal as he glanced around.
"And what about the creatures?" Khal asked as he had yet to see a single beast.
Baylie and Deva wanted to answer Khal, but just as they wished to, the high grass around them in the distance suddenly began to move, alerting them in a flash!
"Be careful! Creat-"
Swish!
BOOM!
However, even before Baylie and Deva could have done anything else, a slight breeze touched their faces before everything around them exploded into debris!
"Wh-What happened just now?" Deva looked speechless after seeing the several deep craters in the distance where several Beast Essence floated, indicating the creatures were slain with a single strike.
And then, soon both of them realized what happened and subconsciously looked at Khal, who held an obsidian black fan in his grasp.
'...'
Khal gave the two a slight glance before he walked next to the Beast Essences and began to consume them.
"D-did he just kill those beasts? But... How?" Baylie was incapable of resisting the urge to ask the question as he could hardly believe Khal just killed several Eighth Stage Beasts as though they were nothing more but mere ants.
