18 Chapter 18: Star Labs and A Luthor

A/N : This is kind of filler but stay with me this is for the plot.

●○Krius is kinda smart?○●

"Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to Star Labs. My name is Krius Dante and I'm the owner of this facility. Today I invited you all for a very special reason."

I was on stage as I started my speech, gathering everyone's attention. There were speakers all around the auditorium amplifying my voice. This is the Star Labs in Metropolis and all the scientists and Technicians were invited to come to this branch.

"If you had looked around as you entered this facility, you might have seen various types of equipment that you may find odd but let me tell you these are all pieces of equipment that are hundred times more advanced than the scientific equipment you use or have ever seen."

I pointed at images of various types of equipment all around, lighting them up for everyone to see. They were shocked with the display but most didn't even want to believe. A lot of these scientists and technicians were well respected but they have never seen anything like this so of course they wouldn't believe some random person telling them supposed nonsense.

"I may sound a bit rude but my goal is to share this equipment with you all. I'm hoping that you will all stay for this event as we demonstrate how these equipment work and maybe get you all to join my star labs in order to make the world a better place through science."

Nearly all of them were speechless. There were murmurs throughout the crowd, wondering if I could be trusted. Of course, no one would just believe someone that randomly showed up proposing such an idea. A lot of them were even paid to come here and some were convinced otherwise but all of them were invited by the League and that Owl member. I need people to work for me but unless they join willingly my work will more than just double.

I signaled for the lights to be turned off as a projector was lighted up behind me showing a detailed diagram of what I was going to explain.

"Now, if you would give me your attention I would like to explain the basic ideas behind our understanding of science. If you do not understand something please raise your hand."

I spent hours explaining and demonstrating basic scientific knowledge from the modern era. I will be uploading more information directly to their mind but they won't be able to understand any of it, if they don't at least have the most basic understanding of modern science.

"I know that not all of you were able to understand everything that was explained but if you would like to understand them, you can stay and work with us. Also, those of you who would like to leave, we will be erasing your memories of these events and safely get you back home."

"Erasing our memories?" One young scientist yelled out in surprise. She was a pretty blonde young girl with glasses and a beautiful figure.

"Yes, erasing your memories. Let me demonstrate. If there are people who wishes to leave please come to the stage."

About 40 people got up from their seats and stepped onto the stage. They were a mix of young and old people.

"Alright, let's start with you." I pointed at the youngest one and he stepped forward. I pressed on his forehead closing my eyes then within 10 seconds I separated.

"Huh? Where am I? Who are you!!" He started yelling and frantically looked around. I swiftly knocked him out so he doesn't cause a ruckus and laid him down on the stage floor. Everyone was already speechless by my action, not even knowing how to react.

"As you have all seen, I can erase someone's memories like that and make them forget about anything I want. Please don't be afraid, I know this is unbelievable to most of you but I assure you this power is attainable scientifically. If you work with us, maybe one day we can unlock the secrets behind special powers like mine."

"May I ask what are the conditions for all of us working together?" The same young scientist questioned again.

"Yes, I will be explaining that but before I start, may I ask for your name Miss?"

"My name is Edna Luthor." She said her name while fixing her glasses.

#@!&#% LUTHOR???? HOLY SHIT!!! Alright alright...Calm down.....hmmm. I will have to think about this properly later on.

"Ms. Luthor then?" I put up a smile without showing a hint of my inner emotion.

"Please call me Edna." She replied with a bright smile.

"Well Edna to answer your question, we will be building other branches of Star Labs in other cities as well. There is already a branch in Central City and after all the branches are finished you can choose to work in any one of those branches. We will pay for all your research and you will be working full time for us. While working for us you have to do a monthly report on the work that you did for that month. You don't have to accomplish something every month. Even failed experiments have some value so I just ask that you give it your all. You will not disclose any of your discoveries to the public without running it by us first. And lastly, we will upload the necessary scientific knowledge directly into your mind so that you can work efficiently with all the equipment, we will know of everything we have already accomplished and have yet to accomplish. Some of them might even include something you are working on but please don't get discouraged, there are always more to explore. For those of you from other countries or cities, we will pay the full expense for you and your family to move to the city your branch is at if you would like. Also a fair warning if you betray any of our conditions or disclose any secrets regarding Star Labs the consequences will he dire but if your life is on the line there's always an exception."

Every one of them were holding their breath waiting for me to finish and even after I finished they were still in a daze. Slowly loud arguments began to fill the entire auditorium, they were debating about whether or not they should take this chance.

"I will give all of you time to think about your decision. If you decide to join exit the auditorium to pick up an identification form, please fill that up then we will sit down with each and every one of you to discuss the area you want to work on. As for the ones who will be leaving please come up to the stage. The previous 40 or so people that did want to leave I will give you time to think as well."

After everything was said and done there were still a great number of people that did want to leave however the majority did stay.

I know I already warned them about disclosing anything related to Star Labs to the public but I will still implement a mental block to prevent them from doing so. Well, all things considered, I would say this went pretty well but now regarding the Luthor....
