156 Libra Thru the Years Interlude

Name:Devil's Rise Author:Dan_Ryder
Ever since the day I, Wanfang, dawned the mantle of the head of Libra it has been difficult. Without the young lord, around I was fully in charge of the entire organization. I was the head so everything landed in my hands.

The young lord was truly irresponsible leaving me to handle this mess. I knew nothing from my two lifetimes about effectively running an organization. I may have been the ruler of a nation in the Tutan World but that was mostly in name.

Since I was in an Abyss, I decided the best way to rule would be with an iron fist. I would focus entirely on my cultivation, power defeats all logic in the cruel Abyss. My personality was surely affected by the demonization, I could barely recognize myself.

My cruel and heartless actions would be known to all of those that ascended from the Tutan World to join our ranks. Those that didn't comply with my orders were killed without question. I didn't blink an eye when I slaughtered man, sphinx, or devil alike.

Soon I found instructing the recruits to be a waste of time. They were simply too weak to make any difference. An army of Knights meant nothing to a Baron. And an army of Barons meant nothing to a Viscount.

The only way I could maintain my power within Libra, and increase our power as a whole would be if I broke into Viscount. Power was everything in this heartless Abyss. I knew my underlings who broke into Baron were plotting against me from my cruelty.

I dared not share the Four Elements Scripture with them in fear of losing my power. Although I was more talented than them, with my battle techniques if they ganged up on me I would die. So I couldn't have them closing in on me in realm.

The more of the recruits broke into Baron the less safe I became. To make the kind of organization the young lord wanted I would have to be heartless. When we received the coordinates of our first tier 3 pocket world I sent every newly crowned Baron at my disposal to war.

Whether they lived or died did not matter to me. If they died I had more time to break into Viscount to maintain my hold on power. If they lived then that would just be more resources to fuel my cultivation.

Although I was heartless in my quest for power I did train the troops in superior battle tactics. For cultivators battling in tandem was difficult. Too many were ineffective, and too few would be mowed down by superior cultivation.

I based the groups I created off the video games I played while I was on Earth. Every team would have five roles. A main tank, the person in the group that had the best defensive techniques that could take the brunt of an assault.

With these five types of cultivators working together properly, they could take someone down a minor realm a two above them. It was a great system, if I perfected it I was sure I could create groups that could take down someone a major realm above them.

One day I would work out the mysteries to this fighting system, although I dare not make my followers too strong. If they could defeat me with the techniques it would defeat the entire purpose.

Although I willingly sent the newly crowned Barons into a Tier-3 pocket world it was not without some preparation. I wished them the best of luck.

I spent the majority of my days battling demon beasts within the Wesser Forest on the edge of life and death. That was the only way I knew to keep my cultivation pushing forward.

If I broke into Viscount I could safely share the Four Elements Scripture without losing my hold on power. The young lord entrusted me with this scripture so I couldn't let him down.

It didn't take long for the good news to come back that we had successfully conquered the pocket realm. My battle techniques had been very effective. Now we had a whole plethora of new resources to fuel Libra.

Sadly, the world was a savage one. There was no intelligent life within. Which is why the Barons were so quick to call it conquered. There were still powerful peak-Baron creatures within the world, but they wouldn't cause trouble.

The world was filled with powerful trees. We couldn't move into the territories of the most ancient trees, but that didn't prevent us from colonizing the rest.

I quickly drafted up a plan with Kyle for us to send down colonizers into the Crimson Canopy world. Sadly the time dilation wasn't anywhere near as good as the Tutan World. It would take ten years before we would possibly see some low-Barons come out of the world.

By then I would be Viscount and unbothered by the threat of mere Barons. We could raise peak Barons in the world but no one would get the next level of the Four Elements Scripture until I broke thru to Viscount.

Time passed slowly and eventually within five years I broke into Viscount, it was a glorious occasion for Libra. We were now an organization backed by a Viscount. Our status within the Hudson clan had moved up.

We were given preferential treatment and everything within Wesser Forest with my rank ascension. With my newfound power, I had no reason to restrain the cultivation of my underlings anymore.

I soon disseminated the Four Elements Scripture, to massive applause to the members of Libra. Even the new denizens of the Crimson Canopy World were ecstatic.
