Chapter 35 - It's Just a Joke!

It wasn't like they would be bored since Bardock loaded some training equipment onto the ship before leaving. Once the ship disappeared, Kayn flew off to the wooden house. It felt awkward being alone since it had been a while.

"I'll just mess around with my Super Saiyan 2 form, it's best to get used to this kind of power." Kayn instantly turned into a Super Saiyan 2 and started walking around in this form. He already decided that he would eat, sleep, and shower in this form daily.

One thing was for certain, he didn't suffer the terrible draining effects like the typical Saiyan while in any Super Saiyan form. Kayn would only start to drain his strength if he used a lot of energy-based attacks.

His S-Cell were still going up, but not as fast anymore. He needed something to stimulate his strength, and that was a good fight. "This universe doesn't have anyone who can be my opponent, who could I fight?"

There was no one strong enough; there was, but they hadn't come into being yet. Kayn thought no more about it and turned his attention to the system.

"System, is there a way for me to learn the Ikari form? If there is, can you tell me where to start or will it just activate itself or something?"

"....."

"Sigh, damn you!" Kayn mumbled.

"Oh?" The planet had a moon, but it almost never became full.

"I can only give it a try, but I'll have to use the Powerball as a replacement." Kayn didn't try this now, he was still training his SS2 form.

"Kayn, are you there? Can you hear me?" Just when he was walking out of the house, he heard a voice.

"What? King Kai, what going on?" Kayn almost stumbled hearing King Kai randomly contact him.

"Ahem, well, I contacting you about something important." King Kai's voice turned serious, but to Kayn, he felt like this guy was always funny.

"Important? I wonder what it could be?" Kayn grinned, he knew where this was going.

"Well, you see, it's about what I talked to you about a while ago, do you remember?" King Kai tried to avoid saying it and wanted Kayn to say it first.

"Nope! Don't remember, so if you don't mind, I'll go back to my training." Kayn laughed in his heart, there was no way Kayn was going to admit he remembered.

"Damn it, Kayn! Don't think I don't know you haven't forgotten!" King Kai complained and continued. "Ahem, It's about the otherworld tournament, I wasn't going to enter because I didn't want to show off but I guess it's fine to show a little strength once in a while."

"Oh, I remember now." Kayn nodded like he was enlightened.

"Screw you, you liar!" King Kai hopped around with his fist curled in protest.

"King Kai, what happened to 'Oh, you're too weak, you haven't even defeated Frieza, there no way you can handle those big shots in the otherworld tournament'."

King Kai started to sweat and said hurriedly, "Kayn, you know I like jokes, you should know a joke when you hear it. I'll tell you what you need, and that's a sense of humor, you're too uptight, you know?"

Kayn's mouth twitched, what King Kai said back on his planet wasn't a joke and he knew it. However, this tournament couldn't come at an even better time than now. "I thought only dead people can participate in those tourneys, how can a living person participate?"

"This is a special tourney that rarely happens, you can use a dead guy or a living one for this special event."

"Okay, I'm in, this is something I need anyway." Kayn agreed happily.

"Great! This is perfe.... Uh, I mean good, I'm glad my disciple can understand the importance of fighting to prove his strength." King Kai, who was initially excited, suddenly turned professional, like he was commending his disciple for his choice.

"When does the tourney start?" Kayn ignored King Kai's fake speech.

"The tournament starts in a year, but you have to be signed up 3 months before it begins." King Kai quickly explained.

"How will I get there? Are you coming to pick me up?" Kayn coughed and asked.

"Pick you up? Can't you use that Teleportation skill of yours?" King Kai's expression changed.

"..."

"Kayn? Hello? Can you hear me, can you use that teleportation skill or not?" King Kai howled when he heard Kayn go silent.

"Uh, I can't use it to teleport to the otherworld yet, so no, I can use the skill." Kayn scratched his forehead with a strange smile.

"Then how did you..... forget it! I'll have King Yemma sent someone to pick you up in the future, so be ready!"

King Kai was rather upset, how the hell did he get to his planet if he couldn't use the skill to get there? He felt like Kayn was trying to give him the run-around, but he already had something in place, just in case.

"Alrighty, it's settled then." Kayn knew he was upset, but he was telling the truth.

"Okay, see ya then!" King Kai's voice finally ceased.

"What a grouchy old fella." Kayn shook his head.

"I heard that, whose grouchy and old!?" King Kai's voice suddenly emerged again.

"What?" Kayn jumped in surprise. "Relax, you should know a joke when you hear it. I'll tell what you need, and that's a sense of humor, you can't be too uptight all the time, take a joke, bro." Kayn tossed King Kai's words back at him from earlier.

"You!" King Kai almost passed out when he heard these words, he didn't utter a single word anymore.

He was gone this time!

Kayn was rendered speechless, but he felt a need to laugh, and he did. He had tears in his eyes recalling the conversation, King Kai was a true comedian.

Kayn ran over his status and felt nothing but assurance.

Kayn felt like he needed more offensive Techniques, so the next thing he wanted to work on before that otherworld tournament was Techniques. Kayn would get to see his parents before leaving if nothing went wrong during their mission.

Kayn wanted to train, but he felt like he needed a vacation or something. He stayed a Super Saiyan 2 and went to his room and started to watch movies through the system. Kayn even had the Saibamen bring him food from time to time.

Seeing the Saibamen, he suddenly remembered the strangely colored Saibamen seeds be had gotten from a crate. Kayn got up and walked outside to check these seeds out. He poured all 20 seeds into his hand and sorted them by color.

There was the typical Green and there was Orange, Purple, and Red. Kayn saw that there were 12 Green, 4 Orange, 3 Red, and 1 Purple seed. "Interesting! Let's try the red one first, my favorite color is red, after all."

"Kikikiki!" The Saibaman screeched as soon as it appeared. It features were different from its Green counterpart, it had red-eye pupils and yellow sclera where white should be. It had 5 sharp claws on its hands, it was also slightly taller than its green counterpart.

Kayn could feel an intense heatwave coming from the Saibaman. He only theorized that this Saibaman was a strict combat type, its strength was even higher than the Green ones.

"Dang it, where would this fellow go?" Kayn said, "Aye, you stand over there, don't go near the forest, either." Kayn quickly gave it a commanded, it was too close to his vegetable farm.

"Kijijiji" The Saibaman looked at Kayn and quickly did what he wanted.

"Better yet, just burrow underground for now." The Saibaman stopped, then dove into the ground like a mole. Kayn didn't summon anymore Saibamen, he already decided to check them all out at that time.

Kayn used Instant Transmission and appeared back in his house. As he was doing before, he started to watch movies from his previous world. Of course, he was in his Super Saiyan 2 state while doing all of this.

He wanted to enjoy his little vacation, then start working on his Ikari-form some other time. Kayn basically returned to his old self, watching movies most of the time and relaxing.

Time passed, he hunted some animals, particularly some turkeys. These turkeys laid eggs often, so he wanted to farm them if possible. Kayn abducted several of them and put them into a newly created pen.

This pen was someways away from his house, but it was still within walking range. Kayn instructed the Red Saibaman to guard this pen by hiding underground next to it. These turkeys were hunted a lot by many predators on this planet, so they needed protection.

After washing up and eating dinner, he went to his room and passed out.
