Chu Chen suddenly felt a sense of sympathy. That girl had just been a human and did not have the same keen sight like his. In the lightless tunnel, she had constantly been plagued by fear of the unknown in the darkness.

Moreover, strictly speaking, he had no beef with this girl and Ling Xuan had not been a good person either. Just the thought of her ruthlessness made Chu Chen feel uncomfortable.

The girl might have been innocent. If she fell into Ling Xuan’s grasp, who knows what kind of torture she would have had to endure? Perhaps he should have done something nice in Ling Xuan’s name.

However, Chu Chen jumped in front of her. He pointed at her, then at himself.

The arrogant girl knew that eaglet had tried to have her affirm the servant-master relationship. She sighed and bit her lip before muttering, “T-t-thank you, M-m-master.”

The last word had barely been audible. After having said that, the girl said nothing else and quickly dashed out of the tunnel.

In just 90 minutes, a shadow entered the tunnel. It turned out to be Ling Xuan’s stunning figure.

“She escaped? That little girl is rather resourceful.” She looked at the ground with a frown as she realized the girl was long gone. Ling Xuan’s mouth twitched. “Nevertheless, her father really cares for her. He actually gave me the real fog dispelling orb. It’s good that she escaped as that saved me some trouble.”

When she saw the dejected eaglet while she looked around, a smile crept onto her face. “It’s fine. You’re still young. It’s a little hard to make you watch over a fully grown human. Don’t worry, I’m not blaming you. Come, I’ll bring you home.”

Having placed the eaglet on her shoulder, Ling Xuan then flew out of the tunnel at full speed.

In the past few days, Chu Chen noticed that there had been an abnormal fate between him and Ling Xuan. Every time his consciousness entered the eaglet’s body, he would have met her.

‘Fate? What a beautiful term.’

Chu Chen felt moved as a sudden emotion welled up from within. It caused him to subconsciously have rubbed his face against Ling Xuan’s tender and pretty cheeks.

Chu Chen’s face blushed immediately. Fortunately, he had been in the eaglet’s body and it had not been obvious. A guy having acted cute. He repulsed at the thought of it and shuddered.

“Hehe…” Having looked at the dejected eaglet, Ling Xuan smiled and took it off her shoulder, having hugged it in her arm. She then lightly caressed the eaglet’s smooth feathers.

The alluring scent had been stronger than ever before. Chu Chen once again felt his head spin, feeling his senses clouded.

‘I can’t take it. If this goes on, my nose will bleed again. It’s too exciting—’

Chu Chen’s mind had been filled with nonsensical thoughts. By the time he recovered from his dazed state, he had already been near the familiar entrance of the Black Fog Valley.

They were back at the Black Fog Valley. Somehow, Chu Chen had a feeling of closeness with this ominous place. After all, it had been a treasure trove he had all to himself.

He would have never imagined that he could repeatedly have explored the Black Fog Valley and obtained all sorts of treasures.

“Alright little guy, I need to get to work now.”

Ling Xuan gently placed Chu Chen down from her arm. She looked at the lingering magical fog and took out a jet black, jade-like orb.

“Master, I don’t care if you’re dead or alive, I’ll find you. You’re the only one that truly protected me in this world.”

A look of determination appeared on her beautiful face.

‘This thing is the fog dispelling orb?’

Out of his curiosity, Chu Chen tried to have sensed it using his spiritual consciousness. That jade-like orb that was the size of a thumb contained strange energy within it. It had been an invisible aura. Before that aura, all dust and mist would have been pushed away.

‘Can this thing really part the fog?’

Ling Xuan’s pupil shrunk and felt slightly lighter in her hand. When she came to, the orb had gone from her hand and it was held in Chu Chen’s beak.

“Little Black! You can’t eat the orb. I need to use it!”

Ling Xuan cried out urgently in shock. It caused Chu Chen to shudder in the sky and almost fell down.

‘What!? I’m such a majestic eagle. Since when did I have such a lame name like Little Black? To think that a beauty like Ling Xuan would have had such a bad naming sense!’

While having retorted that in his mind, Chu Chen flapped his wings and shot into the Black Fog Valley like a bolt of lightning. He had to enter the Black Fog Valley before Ling Xuan could.
