Chapter 153 - What's Your Relationship?

"A shareholders meeting is scheduled to take place after two days. All our plan will be put in motion starting that day. Until then, no one should find out about this." Julia Corell said to Yelena after briefing her with their plans for the upcoming meeting.

Ever since the Chairwoman was in a coma, the greedy senior executives acted as if they owned the company and it's time to show them the reality!

"I may be the youngest executive but because the Chairwoman trusts in me, I can handle the senior executives. Even now, I will try my best to suppress them and block whatever plan they made. You can be assured." Jason Moravsky stated. His voice was calm yet there was a hint of seriousness.

Yelena nodded and spoke up. "If it's two days, that means I don't have much time. If we want the plan to be perfect, I should prepare myself. I will need quite a study because I have no knowledge of the company."

"You don't have to worry." Julia Corell promptly said and briefly glanced at Jason Moravsky. "Jason knows the company well. He is the one who always keeps your mother updated in all the company affairs. He will help you if you want to learn."

Yelena turned her attention to the young executive and quietly gazed at him for a while. Did her mother trust him to that extent? That's so unlike her mother and it made her wondered what would be the reason.

"If you want to prepare for the meeting, then I will help you. It would be my pleasure." Jason Moravsky said. Throughout the lunch meeting, his tone and everything about him remained respectful.

"That would be great. When will you have free time?" Yelena asked with a slight smile.

"Anytime is fine with me. For now, there is nothing as important as this matter. It's my biggest priority." Jason smiled a bit, which made him look less serious. His solemn aura faded a little which was a very rare sight.

"Then let's start today. I'm not familiar with the business, so I must work hard not to embarrass myself or bring shame to my mother." Yelena seemed to be very determined. She didn't know how long would she need to live this way but now that she made a decision, she wanted to give her all.

"As long as it's a thing that cornered the company, I will make sure that what you afraid won't happen. I will have your back in your every move. So, you don't have to worry." Jason assured Yelena.

Hearing those words from her mother's most trusted man, Yelena somehow felt at ease. After going through many things in the past months, she started to feel wary of what the future had in store for her. She really wished to know what was in her way. Of course, even when she thinks about the future, one person was always in the centre. Will he still think the same?

Dr. Antonio just left the royal family villa when Matthew made his way to the Prince room. Then he bowed to show his respect.

"Your Highness, is my cousin able to provide you with some help?" He asked, standing a few steps behind the Prince who was staring out of the window.

Felix remained quiet for a while until he finally said, "Yes. Thank you for your help, Matthew."

"I'm only doing my duty, Your Highness. Have a rest." Matthew bowed again, trying to turn around and leave the room but before he could do that, the Prince's voice made him halted.

"Matthew, how long have you been working for me?"

Matthew stood still in his place and he slightly raised a brow at the Prince's question. Nevertheless, he promptly answered, "It's been three years, Your Highness."

The Prince slightly smiled, narrowing his eyes at his hand. "It's already that long?" He murmured. "But that means you blindly followed me without knowing my past. While I talked about the tattoo man and the murder that took place 4 years ago, you must felt very lost."

Matthew felt puzzled. Why was the Prince suddenly saying those things? What was on his mind?

"You're right, Your Highness. But even if I don't know about it, it doesn't give me a problem in following your orders. I know that asking you such a question is not what I should do."

With the Prince maintaining his silence, the room was very quiet and it goes on for a few seconds.

"You must be tired. Go and take a rest. I want to be alone for now." The Prince's voice was low and calm.

Without saying anything, Matthew bowed and left the room. However, his mind was filled with many different thoughts. The Prince was acting really strange.

"This is my family house but I think you already know it," Yelena said to Jason Moravsky. The two were just entering the Arista family mansion. They plan to study there for the evening.

"I often came here but didn't you move out and live alone?" Jason asked, confused.

Yelena halted and glanced at the young executive. "I think my mother really tells you everything."

"Not everything. Just a few." Jason promptly corrected her.

Yelena opened her mouth but a voice from a few steps away interrupted her from speaking.

"You're here, Jason? I don't expect to see you." Major General Ethan Arista said as he made his way to them.

"How have you been, Mr. Arista?" Jason formally asked as he slightly bowed.

"I'm fine. It's so nice to meet you, Jason. But what brings you here?" He eyed his daughter who was standing beside the man. "With my daughter?" The father was perplexed.

"I will explain later, Father." Yelena chimed in and observed her father. "Are you going to the hospital?"

The father sighed and nodded. "I should apply for a leave. I should stay beside your mother until she recovered."

"The Chairwoman will be fine, Mr. Arista. You must have already heard that there is a possible donor. I'm currently in talks with my friend who is working in a foreign country. He is a cardiothoracic surgeon and he said that he would be able to help me in finding a donor. He will confirm the details very soon." Jason Moravsky informed the Major General.

"You're the one behind that? Mrs. Corell told me about that yesterday. How am I to repay you, Jason? I can't express my gratitude!" The father exclaimed, regarding the young man appraisingly.

"There's no need to thank me. Compared to what the Chairwoman has done for me, this is nothing." Jason's lips curved into a slight smile.

Major General Ethan proudly patted on the young man's shoulder and let out a breath. Then he turned his attention to his daughter. "I'll be leaving. Let's talk later." He calmly said and then leave the mansion.

"My father also knows you. It seems like I'm the only ignorant one." Yelena remarked as soon as her father left.

"I often came here for business matters. That's all." Jason Moravsky said and they both took a seat on the couch.

"I was discharged yesterday and I move back right away." Yelena realized the last time she offered to move back in. "I tried to move back in a few weeks ago but my mother didn't want that. She always scolds me for living alone, so I was very shocked when she turned me down." She bit her lip and think of the reason. "It turns out that she was afraid. She didn't want me to find out about her illness."

"The Chairwoman don't want to make you worry. That's why. She said that you are happy again after a long time. She doesn't want to take that happiness away from you."

"You know about her illness all along?" Yelena asked and slightly sneered. "She's too much. Though I'm not a good daughter, I'm still her only child yet she keeps me in the dark."

"It's because she loves you the most in this world. She never stops talking about you." Jason argued, looking at Yelena right in the eyes.

"I know she loves me. That's why I feel so bad. Before she collapsed, she should have given me the time to show my love. I regret like crazy." Pain was evident in her eyes yet she maintained a low voice the whole time.

"She will be fine. After she recovers, you will have the time." Jason calmly said.

Seeing her like this, somehow he saw himself in her. Jason Moravsky of the past. The teenager who lived his life in regret ever since his mother's death. He didn't know why but when he assumed her to suffer the same fate, he can't bear to think about it!

Was it because her mother was a very important person to him? Maybe.

Yelena remained quiet for a while, calming herself. Then she glanced at the man opposite to her. "You said that what you do is nothing compared to what my mother had done for you. Can I ask you what's your relationship with my mother?"
