Chapter 172 - His Birthday

"Why did you have to say that! You freak, why!"

I was punching Jacob's arm for awhile and this jerk was only laughing at me. He would only brushed his arm after receiving my punches.

What the hell..

"What if they bother me more because of that, huh? You know I hate attention!" I punched him again.

I don't care if it hurts. I'm really pissed at him, oh god. I wanted to punch him more!

"You wouldn't, so don't be a paranoid. Okay?"

How can I not if everyone's looking at me with those piercing eyes now? How?!

"You selfish bastard. You only do this for your own sake!" I gritted my teeth.

He shifted his head and laughed like something's really funny. Shit, I think I need some water.

"Hey, you looked pale. Are you okay?" His voice sounds worried.

"Don't touch me!" I glared at him.

"But you're not--"

"I'm fine!"

"No. You're not." He touched my both cheeks and forehead. "You're not even sick.."

He seems so serious about it, unaware that I'm glaring at him.

"You're really that angry?" He chuckled after checking up on me.

"Shut up, Jacob."

"You are? Damn. You're so cute," He pinched my cheeks.

"Don't you dare try it again."

I warned him with my dangerous glare.

"Okay. Fine, master." He said, mimicking my voice.

I just looked at the front while waiting for out next subject. I'll hold my power to ignore those stares of my friends and classmates right now. Jacob was a bit crazy today, I didn't want him to add up to them or else I'll gonna die in frustration.

"He have lost his mind.." I rolled my eyes and ignored the environment.

A few minutes after, our next subject has come. I was a bit surprised to know that the deadline of our thesis was bound to end next week. Oh my god.

Everyone was panicking after hearing it and I admit that I'm one of them. I haven't finished my thesis yet. I still have to test some data on my findings and I wanted to turn it out well.

The others are also bothered by the fact that they haven't even finished the conducting of information. Well, I'm still thankful that unlike them, I'm already working on my methodology. It's the hardest part but, I know I can make it.

"Have you already finished your thesis, Raine?" Jennie asked.

"I wish I could just throw it, so I can just travel around." Marco added, looking so obvious that he haven't finished it yet.

"I was about to, but I'm still checking on everything.."

"What about you, Jacob?" Our gazes turned to Jacob who's now busy reading something on his book.

"Hey!" I kicked his chair.

He glared at me, "You're being so rude now, huh?"

We glared at each other as he puts his book inside his bag. He suddenly smiles so wide which made me pursed my lips. He's so crazy.

"I'm done," He placed his bag on his shoulder.

Our eyes widened as we watch his boastful acts. "REALLY?!"

He nodded and smirked. I can't believed this!

"I already finished it yesterday," He leaned closer to me. "I took the time when I'm still avoiding you.." He whispered.

I really can't believed it! I felt so betrayed!

I can't even function well since the day he didn't talk to me. I was so bothered that I can't focused on my studies which caused me to delay working on me thesis!

What a waste. He seemed like he didn't really mind it. I really wonder why everyone thinks that he likes me.

They're too clueless that this guy was a true betrayer.

"I know what you're thinking so let me just treat you to a meal," He laughed and dragged me to the cafeteria with my friends.

"What about us? You should treat us too!" Jennie nagged.

"Don't tell us, you're only treat Raine? We will kick you out of our friends if you would.." Marco glared.

"What are you saying? Of course, I would treat you too! Let's go, pick whatever you want," Jacob said, but there's a bit hesitation in his reaction.

I laughed and I can't help but to show it to him. He's really funny oh my god.

"What do you want?" He pouted.

"I want pasta, a healthy one, pizza, cheesy fries, and also add some dessert on it. Ah-- I also want some cold drink for freshen up." I smiled, waiting for his reaction.

His jaw clenched and I could see how it surprised him just by looking at his pale face. When he started to walk, that's the time that I got my chance to laugh on our table alone. The two went with him. I'm sure they will make Jacob broke this time.

"He's cute, huh?" I whispered, biting my lips.

As I'm waiting for them, I took my time to open my instagram. I was surprised to see a lot of followers this time. I haven't received those plenty of followers before and I'm really shocked with this.

And I think some of them are my schoolmates.

"You looked surprised, what made you react like that?" Jennie chuckled as they put they trays on the table.

I didn't even noticed their presence, I am too focused with those people on my account.

Wow..

"Let us see that," Marco said and glanced at my phone. "Oh my,"

He covered his mouth while eyes got bigger. I can't believed it too. It was like a dream.

Imagine? I'm not friendly and famous but..

"Let me see!" Jacob took the phone from me.

I glared at him, "This rude brat.."

"Don't be amazed at it, some of them are just a piece of trash," he commented and give back my phone.

"You're just a judgemental! If I know, only few people are following you!" I mocked him.

He pursed his lips. "How dare you say that, huh! I can bring all the woman who's been dying to date me. This brat!"

"Really? Where are they? Bring them then!"

"Just wait and I'll--"

"Hey, stop you two! Don't fight in front of the food. You can continue that after eating it, these childish brats.." Marco said, glaring at us.

He sounds frustrated which made us stop from fighting. Okay, I'll let go this time. But if he wishes to continue later, I would gladly allow him.

"Your birthday was coming, right?" Jennie suddenly mentioned in the middle of our meal. She's looking at Jacob.

"Oh right! Your birthday!" Marco interjects.

Jacob suddenly stopped from eating and laugh. I wonder what funny is..

"I almost forget about it if you didn't mentioned, Jennie.." He chuckled.

His eyes turned to me and started to eat again. I was enjoying his treat a while ago, but now that I knew that he forgot about his birthday I'm already curious it didn't crossed his mind.

Was he depressed?

"Are you okay?" I asked.

If you would look on his smiles, you would easily get fooled but if you're wised enough. You'll find out that it's fake and for what I am seeing right now.

He looked..sad..

"Of course. Why wouldn't I?" He laughed. "Finish your food, it doesn't taste good if it gets cold.."

"Why did you forget about your birthday?" I bit my lower lip.

I am really curious about it. I don't know if it's nonsense or what. I just wanted to know it.

"Well.." He shrugged. "Because I have no one to celebrate it with?"

"What?" My brows furrowed. "Where's you family--your mom?"

"My mom has her own family now and my dad passed away after fighting with cancer. I was all alone, so I don't think I have to celebrate it anymore.."

Shit.

Why didn't I know this?!

"Oh my, I'm sorry.." Jennie muttered like she just knew it right now.

"You brat. I told you we're always here but you never listened.." Marco shook his head.

Jennie and I looked at each other. Our brows furrowed and looked at the two guys in front of us.

"You knew?!"

We are looking at Marco who's now scratching his nape, looking so guilty about it. I can't believed this!

"And you!" I points at Jacob.

"W-why..?" He looked anxious.

"You never told me anything! I thought you're not gonna tell others about it?"

"Fine, I'll explain," he sighed heavily.

I'm glad that I finished my food without spitting it. But I felt so full right now, I can't waste any food so I just eat it with all I might.

"Marco went to my apartment without giving me a notice--"

"I just wanted to give his notes back.." Marco defended.

"I was surprised at first, he thought that I lived with my family but no.. He asked and become so nosy with my whereabouts and there, he finally knew about it.." He chuckled and made some peace sign to Marco.

"I just wanted to know.." Marco pouted.

"But you should've told us so we can go to your place if you're alone!" Jennie still looked upset.

Even I. It feels like they betrayed us for this simple thing. But since, I'm an understanding person I'll still forgive them.

"We're sorry guys.. Can you forgive us?"

They both pouted and pretends to looked so awful. I just rolled my eyes and crossed my arms.

"We'll forgive you if you agreed to throw a party on your birthday.." Jennie smirked.

"That's not a problem--"

"But Jacob and Raine will become partners.."

My eyes widened. What is she saying!

"WHAT?!" Jacob and I shouted.

He also looked startled but I'm less nervous about it unlike him. I was just surprised to it.

And what kind of party was that!?
