Chapter 137 - What?!

The man kept shaking Wang Ming, making him dizzy, but he gripped him so hard that he would have to injure him to stop the shaking. With great difficulty Wang Ming manged to talk. "Can you please stop, are you trying to make me puke?" Realizing his mistake, Jie released Wang Ming and pulled him into the house, leaving an awkward Xiao Qiang behind.

"Martial Uncle, what about me?" Jie sighed like he finally remembered that Xiao Qiang was there. "Fine, come in. But don't you dare dirty my house else you're going to wash the house with a toothbrush!" Xiao Qiang had a wry smile on his face and followed Wang Ming and Jie inside, he couldn't believe how different his Martial Uncle treated them.

Even though he hadn't taken care of his Uncle much, as he doesn't like it when he does. Xiao Qiang felt like he had done anything and everything to satisfy whatever Uncle Jie wants.[1] Xiao Qiang had known his uncle for most of his life as Uncle Jie have always been the person he respects the most except from his deceased master. They go way back.

Following Jie into the house, Wang Ming couldn't believe how good the house looked on the inside. It looked like someone had renovated the entire house. The outside and the inside of the house couldn't be more different the outside looked run down while the interior of the house looked like a modern house.

"Now sit down both of you." Wang Ming and Xiao Qiang followed Jie's orders and sat down on the sofa in the living room. The living room wasn't big, but it had everything you would need in a living room. A marble table, sofa and a tv. Jie had also grabbed a chair to sit down on, Wang Ming could see that his legs were trembling.

"Clarify with me, Little Qiang, is this my disciple?" Jie felt excited that Xiao Qiang brought him a disciple. He had told him once that if he ever found someone he thought is talented enough to become his disciple to bring them here. Xiao Qiang had only brought someone here once but sadly the person wasn't fated with him, so he became Xiao Qiang's disciple. If he didn't remember wrong, then his name is Zhou Liwei.

"Yes, Uncle Jie! If you accept him, then he will become your disciple. I wanted to accept him, but thinking about the promise with you before I brought him here. You're also the only person qualified to teach Wang Ming, he's even a bigger talent than I was!" Jie didn't totally believe Xiao Qiang, even though he has no reason to lie. But Xiao Qiang is the most talented martial artist Jie has ever met.

There's no way someone more talented than him wouldn't have a master by now, even though Wang Ming isn't old. Jie estimated that he had to be around 20-30 years old. Most martial artist finds their masters already when they're 10. Pointing at Wang Ming, Jie said. "Him? Are you sure?" Xiao Qiang knew why Jie was reacting like that, he had basically just dropped on a nuke on his Uncle.

"Yes, Uncle Jie, I promise. Wang Ming greet Uncle Jie and tell him more about yourself." Finally getting his signal, Wang Ming introduced himself. "I'm Wang Ming, 22 years old, I'm a restaurant owner." Xiao Qiang didn't eat out much at all, so he had no idea who Wang Ming is, but Jie who uses most of his time doing menial chores and reading news he instantly knew who Wang Ming is.

"Are you that Wang Ming? Owner of the Wang Family restaurant?" Wang Ming didn't think that Jie would know about his restaurant. "Yes Senior Jie, it's me."

"I know you from the news, I didn't think that a big restaurant owner would want to become my disciple, isn't learning food more than enough for you why bother learning martial arts?" Jie didn't look like someone who reads news. Even Wang Ming had only read a few news articles about his own restaurant. "Senior Jie, if you've read about my restaurant then you should also know about the robbery at my restaurant, I need to learn martial arts to protect myself and my family."

"I know, but then why should I accept you? You're probably a talented cook and business owner, but I don't think you have the same talents in martial arts. Judging from how you're standing in breathing, it doesn't look like you have much or even any experience in Wing Chun. Again, why should I even accept you?" Jie wanted Wang Ming as his disciple, he felt good about Wang Ming. He had even read that Wang Ming had donated a lot of food to poor and homeless people, so Jie didn't have any qualms with Wang Ming's character, but if he didn't have proper martial arts talents, then it would be no point.

Wang Ming had no idea how to prove his talents. What is he supposed to do? Hit the man? Fight with Xiao Qiang? There's no way any of the two methods would work. He could only stand there in silence. He had no idea how to prove it to Senior Jie. He started to doubt himself. Maybe Xiao Qiang was wrong maybe he had just been lucky. But luckily Xiao Qiang came to his rescue.

"Uncle Jie don't underestimate Wang Ming." Xiao Qiang then patted Wang Ming on his shoulder, which shocked him awake from his thoughts and said. "Now Wang Ming, tell Uncle Jie what you did earlier and what your martial arts experience is."

"I had a misunderstanding with Zhou Liwei, Xiao Qiang's disciple." When Wang Ming mentioned Zhou Liwei, Jie perked his ears up. Even though Zhou Liwei's talent isn't even close to Xiao Qiang's the boy is still an excellent martial artist. Hearing that Zhou Liwei is involved made him feel curious.

"We fought one versus one, alternating who would attack and defend." Jie examined Wang Ming with his eyes to look at his injuries. He had multiple cuts on his face, probably inflicted by Zhou Liwei's elbow attacks. Though Jie felt impressed by Wang Ming, after losing to Zhou Liwei, he could still walk around like nothing had happened. "At first I lost to him, but later I learned his tricks and I won."

"Yes, you los… Wait, you won?" Jie couldn't believe his ears, so he looked at Xiao Qiang for confirmation. Seeing that he nodded, Jie realized it's true. "It's impressive, but that's still not enough. There are close to 10 thousand people that can beat Zhou Liwei in China. You don't qualify yet."

Xiao Qiang smiled seeing Uncle Jie's c.o.c.ky smile, he knew that Uncle Jie were only pretending he had accepted Wang Ming already. "Wang Ming hit him with the banger." Seeing Xiao Qiang and Senior Jie's shit-eating grins, Wang Ming wanted to strangle them both but still complied. "I don't have any prior martial arts experience. 0 experience."

"What?!"

[1]I'm cutting Martial Uncle to Uncle to make it easier to read with a few exceptions, maybe.
