Chapter 10 - 10

"We are married now. And she is my wife. Now she is not Isabella Carter. She is Isabella Benjamin Lockwood. Benjamin Singh Lockwood's wife. Lockwood family's only daughter in law. And I will not hear a single word against my wife." Benjamin said coldly

"Just because you married her doesn't change the fact that she is a girl with loose morals. And she took advantage of you when you were at your lowest point, being heartbroken and all. I heard the whole story okay. About how you two missed your train and spent a night together. Don't think you can pull wool over everyones eyes" Sofia said and Benjamin saw a teenager frowning in confusion listening to the story

Benjamin smirked

"Mrs Rossi, you should have atleast changed the plot a little. Then maybe it would have looked legit" Benjamin said making Sofia frown

Benjamin turned to look at the teenage girl nearby

"You heard the story the woman just said right? Have you heard of that anywhere before?" Benjamin asked

The girl nodded

"Then tell them where you heard the story" Benjamin prompted

"Jab We Met. A bollywood movie. I watched it with Izzy once" the girl said

"Exactly. I was trying so hard to figure out where I have heard this story before" another woman said

All the hateful eyes turned on Sofia.

"Sofia. We know you have a grudge on Carter family ever since Alessandro hit your son. But we didn't expect you to point a finger at Isabella's character in revenge." Another woman said with a shake of her head

"Why did Alessandro hit her son?" Benjamin asked

If the guy is anything like his mother, then he definitely deserved the punch, Benjamin thought

"Antonio gave Izzy a love letter. So Alessandro punched him" the teenage girl provided the information

"Love letter??" Benjamin asked in amusement which soon turned into a frown

If Alessandro punched Arjun for a love letter, what would he do when he hears about how he married Isabella.

Sofia hurried away from the group of people humiliated by the turn of events.

Benjamin turned to see Isabella staring at him blankly

Isabella's mother was still crying and Elizabeth was looking worried at the two ladies.

"I.." Benjamin trailed off not knowing what to say.

"Ben. I think we should go home and talk" Elizabeth said

Benjamin nodded and held Isabella's hand

Isabella looked down at his hands and then looked at him again.

She was staring at him blankly

He could see that she is in shock.

Her hands were clammy and her skin looked pale.

Her pupils were dilated and she had a dazed look in her eyes

Hopefully nothing serious, Benjamin prayed

He led her towards the car and she walked with him still not reacting to anything.

"Oh god" Rosetta cried

Elizabeth held the weeping woman in her arms and lead her to the car.

Lockwood Mansion

Benjamin held a glass of salty lime juice to Isabella's lips.

Her color was coming back and Benjamin sighed when she blinked and focused on him

"You? You married me?" Isabella asked feeling as if she just came out of a trance

Benjamin kneeled in front of her and held her hands in his

"Isabella. I'm sorry I did that without your consent. But she was talking so disgustingly about you and I didn't even think what I was doing" Benjamin said apologetically

"Your behaviour has become so impulsive lately Ben. How could just marry her like that?" William asked. He was filled in on the events by Elizabeth as soon as they reached

Rosetta sat next to her daughter. She had informed her husband and son about the sudden marriage during their car journey.

Isabella hugged her mother and cried

"I'm sorry momma. It's all because of me. You had to hear all that because of my lie" Isabella cried, full effect of what happened that morning coming out.

"It's not your fault Isabella. I'm the one who dragged you into my mess. I'm the one responsible for the accusations on your character. But I promise Isabella. No more. I will never let any harm come your way" Benjamin promised.

"Where is he??" They looked up to see a furious Alessandro and a worried Zakariah rushing inside

Benjamin stood up to greet them, but staggered back when Alessandro 's fist connected with his nose.

"Ouch" Benjamin held his nose ,pain piercing through him.

"Sandro" Rosetta held back her son from pouncing at Benjamin again

"How dare you? We said no right? No means no. And you went ahead and married her forcefully so that you can get custody of the child. How dare you use my sister like that" Alessandro yelled at Benjamin trying to get out of his family's hold.

"Alessandro calm down. Listen what happened first" Rosetta chided.

Elizabeth and Rosetta proceeded to explain what happened at the temple and Alessandro shot a guilty look at Benjamin.

"You still shouldn't have married her like that" Alessandro said

"I didn't know what to do then. I acted on my instinct" Benjamin admitted.

Madison, the househelp ,walked in with Sapphire who had woken up from her nap.

Sapphire had her sippy cup held close to her tightly in her chubby fists.

"Bell-Bell" she squealed as she noticed Isabella sitting on the couch

Isabella looked up and smiled at Sapphire

"Down down" Sapphire demanded and Madison let the little girl down

Sapphire toddled over to Isabella

Isabella picked her up and settled Sapphire on her lap and pressed a loud kiss on her cheeks.

Sapphire giggled happily

Zakariah sighed

"Mrs Lockwood. Can I get a glass of water please" he asked

"Ofcourse Ofcourse. Where are my manners. And please call me Elizabeth" Elizabeth rushed to get drinks and snacks for the Carters

Sapphire who heard the old man asking for water, extended her sippy cup towards him

"Sapphy sippy" she said letting him know that he can drink from her sippy cup

Zakariah's heart melted into a puddle at the cuteness.

He smiled at the little girl and held the sippy cup

"Thank you" he said not wanting to refuse the child

Sapphire snuggled into Isabella

"What next?" Rosetta asked the question that was on everyone's tongue.
