454 Mission

Name:Gacha Sovereign Author:Fixten
Alex came to the guild as he turned in his mission to Ruby.

"Welcome, how is your first request?" She asked with a smile.

"So-so." Alex shrugged nonchalantly.

"I see. I will proceed with your mission, and I need your guild card to upgrade your point."

Alex nodded as he took out both the request paper and his guild card.

Name: Alexander Sirius

Tier: 5

Age: 23

Guild: Empyrean Guild

Status: Bronze Mage (200/2500)

Alex frowned upon seeing this. Not long after, He sighed as he wondered if there was any quest that gave him more points. After all, he needed a few days just to get two hundred points, and this mission was the highest one he could get a few days ago. If this kept up, he would need at least two months before he could rank up to silver mage.

"What is it? Do you have any discontent with the mission? I can listen to you, maybe give you a few suggestions."

Alex shook his head. "I am wondering if I can get the points faster. By the way, what will happen if I reach Silver Mage, and what is the next requirement for the Gold Mage?"

Alex thought he would need any test to level up, but Ruby answered. "Nothing, you can just do like usual, taking quests and such. I will just need to upgrade your rank, and we are done. As for the next requirement for the Gold Mage, after you become a Silver Mage, your point will be reset, and you need twenty thousand points to become a Gold Mage."

"That... " Alex furrowed his eyebrows. If he needed around two months just to rank up to Silver, then he would need more than a year to reach Gold. He did not want this, and he needed a way to rank up faster.

"What are you thinking?" Ruby asked when she looked at his troubled expression.

"I really need to get points faster…" Alex sighed.

"Hmm… If you keep this up, you can become a Silver Mage in a few months while there are even people who need ten years for it. There is a way to get points faster though, which is a special mission from the Guild Master. There is one right now, but it will be a bit too hard for you. I will call the Guild Master for you, maybe you can discuss it with him. By the way, why do you want it? I am surprised to see you finish this request in just five days in which you need around four days to travel back and forth alone."

"I have my reason." Alex shook his head.

"I see. Then, I won't ask again. However…" She paused a bit before her smile vanished as she released her killing intent. "If you try to do something funny to this guild, I will personally stop you as I love this guild."

Alex knew she was serious. He then shook his head, assuring her he did not have any ill intention on doing that. "Rest assured."

"I see. Then I will call the guild master for you." She nodded as she left the counter for a while.

Before long, she came back with an old man that seemed to be the guild master and a blonde woman.

"Guild master, this is our new recruit, Alexander Sirius." Ruby introduced Alex.

The guild master glanced at him before looking up and down, trying to observe him. It had been according to the plan to check whether Alex was an enemy or not. He just needed to push Lilian together with him and made her ask a few questions.

"Hello, Guild Master. My name is Alexander Sirius." Alex greeted him.

He nodded. "I am Nicolas. I am glad to see a talented new recruit like you. I hear you want to increase your point faster and want to get a special mission from me?"

"Yeah. I have a personal reason." He acknowledged.

"Unfortunately, I only have one special mission in my hand with 1000 points as the reward. However, it requires you to deal with a giant monster that seems to be a 5-Star Tier 5 Monster, which I don't think you can deal with." The guild master sighed. It was not like he underestimated him, considering Alex could kill 2-Star Tier 5 Magician in just a day.

Alex pondered for a moment. '5-Star Tier 5 Monster… 5-Star Martial King monster… With my 1-Star Martial King power, I can surely kill the monster as long as I use everything in my repertoires. I should get this mission.'

"I am confident I can complete the mission, Guild Master," Alex said, pondering how to persuade the guild master.

"But… I already have a candidate with me here. She is Lilian, one of the gold mages in this guild. She is also a 6-Star Tier 5 Magician." He said to Alex.

"This…" Alex looked at the blonde hair beauty beside the guild master.

"This is a suicide mission for you." She remarked.

"Unfortunately, I am under the same opinion." Ruby even approved her claim.

"Well, well. Don't push the newbie like that. He is a Tier 5 mage despite being only 23 years old, so I know why he wants to become a Gold Mage as soon as possible." The guild master exclaimed, with his own misunderstanding. "Why don't we do it like this. Lilian will take care of him in this mission, so both of you will go together and complete the mission.

"Don't worry, I will make an exception for both of you and reward you with one thousand points. You need to share the Spirit Stones prize though."

"Guild master… we can't do this. This is too dangerous. The monster is a 5-Star Tier 5 monster while he is only a 1-Star Tier 5 Mage." Ruby protested.

"Just look at his eyes, you can tell he is stubborn and wants to get the mission at any cost. He is too young, so he needs to learn by experience. That's why I think it will be good to see how strong a monster can be and learn from experience. Lilian is strong as her own, so I am sure she can take care of him." He said. "If you are still not assured, how about you follow him too?"

"I won't." She shook her head.

Lilian observed Alex with her two different colored eyes. She suddenly threw a punch on his face, which Alex intercepted with his hand. However, because of the strength difference between 1-Star and 6-Star, Alex was suppressed by her.

"!!!" Lilian was just testing him. She said, "A normal person will only have a sixth of my strength, but you have half of my strength despite being a 1-Star."

This time it was the turn for the guild master and Ruby to be surprised. Although they knew Alex's power, they never tested him themselves. And Lilian said he had half of her strength, his strength alone was already comparable to 3-Star. And like Lilian, Alex was a mage that could become more powerful when using his magic.

"Are you sure about that, Lilian?" Ruby asked with a shocked face.

"Mhm." She nodded.

"Then, how about taking him with you. I am sure he won't become your burden. At the very least, he should not be in your way." The guild master asked.

"It's alright as long as he follows my order," Lilian said.

Alex did not mind following her order though. He was not like those men in the story that said they would not bow to anyone, including women. Of course, he had his own morale, but he had no qualms in listening to someone more experienced than him in a new world like this. He nodded his head, agreeing with her statement.

"When will you be ready?" She asked.

"I can go anytime."

"Then, meet me tomorrow at the guild. We will need three days just to travel there." She said.

He nodded. "Alright."

"My name is Lilian. You can call me that and I hope you can follow my order for your own safety, Alexander." She reminded him again after introducing herself. She then left the guild before Alex could reply.

"..." Alex glanced at Ruby and the guild master.

"Since the matter is settled, I will go back to my office." The guild master also left.

"Lilian is not really talkative, but she cares about her teammates. So, please follow her instruction, alright?" Ruby said with concern.

Alex nodded. "I know."

"So, what are you going to do now? Are you going to prepare for tomorrow?"

"That would be it…" Alex nodded before he recalled another thing. "Do you know about magic rune?"

"I know."

"I want to know more about the rune or maybe the place where I can buy them." He said. Since he had a one day free, he decided to know about rune to see whether he could sell it or not. He purposely did not say "sell" as he did not want her to know he could make them, afraid it was an unusual thing in this world.

(A/N: Another reminder, Rune=Array Plate)

"Oh!" She nodded, thinking Alex wanted to buy the rune for his safety. "The guild does not have this thing. If you want to buy Runes, you can head to the Rune Palace. Most of our guild members also buy runes from that place. They are two blocks away from here."

Alex nodded. It seemed there was this place called Rune Palace that had the same function as the Array Master Guild.

Alex then left the place to see this Rune Palace. He was a huge store with grand decorations. This place was even more magnificent than the Empyrean guild.

He then came inside and saw a similar place like Array Master Guild. He came to the receptionist out of reflex.

"Hello, how may I help you?" A guy in his twenties greeted him politely. Judging from his clothes, he was also a receptionist.

"I am new here, so a little explanation, I guess," Alex said.

He nodded. "This is Rune Palace, the home of magic runes. You can buy, sell, or exchange runes in this place. If you want to buy runes, you can ask me or a few people with the same outfit as mine. We will give you a catalog for the runes.

"If you want to sell, there is another counter in the corner. I can guide you there if you want. However, different from the two, there is an exchange center in this building. In the exchange center, you can set up your own stall and see whether anyone wants to exchange a magic rune. Of course, fighting is forbidden, and all things shall be resolved peacefully in this building." The receptionist explained carefully.

Alex nodded. He did not need to buy a rune since he could make it himself. "Can I buy runes making equipment in this place?"

"Of course."

"Then, I need Tier 5 monster blood," Alex said. He did not have any stocks for monster blood as the one he had was only Tier 4 or Rank 4 monster blood.

"We have different types of bottles. The smallest one is enough for one Tier 5 Magic Rune while the biggest one is enough for ten Tier 5 Magic Rune." The receptionist became even more polite when he heard Tier 5 monster blood. He thought he must be running an errand for his master, considering his age.

"How much is the biggest one?" Alex asked.

"One million Spirit Stones for each bottle." He said.

"Can I get a catalog for the runes?"

"Very well." He nodded and took out a book from his space ring.

Alex then took a look at this book as he immediately searched for Tier 5 Rune. It seemed in this world, even a Tier 5 Rune was a luxury as each of these runes was around a few hundred thousand to ten million Spirit Stones.

He was tempted to sell his runes for this. He found his Barrier Array for 3 million Spirit Stones. They could even buy a service for Lightning Rod Array, and this needed 10 million Spirit Stones.

With this one million Spirit Stones bottle, he could make 30 million Spirit Stones. Of course, even with his power, to compress a big array under a small paper was a big deal. At best, he could only make ten of them in a week as his mind would be too tired to even make another one.

He was planning to make a certain number of runes and sold them at intervals to avoid suspicion. After thinking for a while, he decided to buy ten of the biggest bottles and came back to his house.
