Alex narrowed his eyes.
The snake was green. This twenty-meters long snake seemed to be very ominous because he could see the huge amount of poison circulating inside the snake's body.
"Green Devil Poison…" Alex thought for a moment and finally realized. The Green Devil Poison was indeed a Divine Poison that could kill someone either instantly or gradually. Maybe back then, the elder wanted to torture the loved one, so he created or brought the Green Devil Poison that killed slowly.
Nonetheless, the Green Devil Poison itself originated from Martial Art… A special Martial Art.
"This is the Green Devil Poison's true body. Our tribe has combined all the poisons in the world to create the strongest poison called Green Devil Poison. Since you don't want peace, then I shall bury all of you here." The elder snapped his finger as the snake widened its mouth, spitting a huge liquid from its mouth.
Alicia tried to create a barrier array to block this, but Alex stopped her and summoned his Pure Fire before deciding to avoid it instead.
"Alex?!" Alicia furrowed her eyebrows.
Alex remained silent as he pointed out to the barrier far from them. Due to the angle of the attack, the poison seemed to hit the barrier, creating a huge hole. It kept melting at a fast rate.
The poison miasma between the two barriers flowed inside as the elder laughed.
"Haha… Since you choose to refuse a toast only to drink a forfeit, I will let all the poison I have prepared to fend off the enemy to kill you! Unless you have an antidote, you will be killed even if you are a God Rank Expert."
"Pfft." Alex chuckled.
"What is funny?"
Alex didn't answer him and pointed his finger toward the hole. "Sherry. Take care of that hole for me."
"Understood." Sherry flew toward the barrier and released her fire to burn all the miasma before spreading them inside the gap.
"No way!" The elder seemed to have noticed it as well and opened his mouth in shock. He pointed at Sherry and shouted. "Kill her! You need to kill her first!"
The devils turned around. Despite losing half of their number already, they still fought bravely because of the elder's earlier speech.
Sherry only glanced for a second before focusing back on the barrier.
Three shadows emerged between Sherry and the masses. "Where do you think you are going? Unless you kill us, you won't be able to hurt anyone."
"All of you are weak."
"Capture a few of them alive, so I can get a few information later. Nelson requested it too."
Nelson didn't follow them. Instead, he started massacring the devils from behind. The trio looked at this and nodded. "Let's start too."
Alex and the elder saw this as they had their own thoughts, and it seemed they had the same thought.
The snake released a few more liquid droplets and scattered them around.
Alicia created a few layers of barrier array to stop this because she was sure that the poison would melt the array.
And she was right. The poison broke a few layers, but she managed to freeze the poison droplets because of the ice element she imbued inside each layer.
"If that is the case, I will start with you!" The elder looked at Alicia as the snake blew a green tornado out of its mouth.
If one were hit by this tornado, their body would surely melt until nothing left, so Alex decided to appear between them.
He waved his hand as his Pure Fire gushed out of his body, confronting the tornado head-on. And as one would expect, Alex's Pure Fire burned the poison completely.
"It seems my Pure Fire is stronger than your strongest poison." Alex smirked, trying to agitate the elder.
"Kh…" The elder gritted his teeth, looking for a way to mess that smirk of his up.
Unfortunately, Alex was one step ahead. He was the one creating the array this time as five swords floated above it. Not only that, but he also coated the swords with Pure Fire and Absolute Blade Divine Intent.
"Go!"
The swords flew toward the elders.
The snake released another tornado, but it couldn't melt the sword due to the Pure Fire.
"This is impossible. A Pure Fire can't render this strongest poison useless." The elder seemed to talk based on experience. He must have fought against a Pure Element. Even if it was not a Pure Fire, it should have a similar characteristic and knew that the poison could still affect a Pure Element.
"Nothing is impossible." Alex smiled.
The elder tried to move the snake, but the swords pierced the snake first, burning a portion of the accumulated poison energy in the snake.
The devil flew to the sky along with his snake after noticing he would gain an advantage in the sky. The snake circled around him as he checked a way to hit Alex.
In the end, they clashed a few more times in the air. Alicia helped Alex this whole time, preventing the devil from landing even a single hit on Alex's body.
The elder found it annoying but had no power to change it because he knew this pair seemed to have understood how to fight together.
Alex would surely stop him from going to Alicia while attacking him, and Alicia would defend him on any occasion. It was a simple but very effective plan.
*Bang!*
Another shock wave shook the city as Alex and the elder clashed before retreating.
"It's useless. Just accept your death." Alex snorted. 'I never knew that you were going to use poisons scattered in the city and the one in the gap between barriers, but luckily, I had calculated them.'
Even though it was luck that helped Alex to have this smooth battle, he wouldn't show it to his face because the elder would use it against him.
"Since the situation has become like this, then I shall become ruthless too!" The elder snarled as he raised his hand, looking very desperate. His snake suddenly flew to the sky and opened his mouth, spurting green liquid and miasma to the air.
"This is…" Alex narrowed his eyes. It was poison indeed. The liquid itself wouldn't be too troublesome because they could avoid it without a problem, but it also created the miasma. If this spread all over the city and covered it with poison, it would be troublesome because either he or Sherry needed to purify this.
"You are underestimating me too much." Alicia snorted and clapped her hand, creating an array at the size of the city itself.
"This is a barrier array… No! There are two layers…" Alex noticed something special from her array. This array itself was the same as the one he learned not too long ago, but he was confused by the second layer of this array.
"Alex! Send your fire to the array!"
Alex didn't understand the reasoning behind it, but he trusted her.
A phoenix soared to the sky by a single wave of his hand, hitting the array.
Suddenly, the phoenix turned into fire and coated the entire array.
"Let's start cooking, shall we? First, add the alcohol!"
"Huh?!" Alex was bewildered. Despite having become an expert, her cooking skill seemed to have not changed. As much as he wanted to rebuke her by saying it is oil, he stopped after finding what happened next.
As soon as the liquid hit the array, the fire flared up to the sky. This was like when people cooked and poured alcohol, so the fire soared. Flambe it was called.
The liquid was vaporized instantly, and the residual flame burned the mist coming from it.
The elder fell silent, watching how it was not effective. At the same time, the fire also hit the snake and burned it.
He controlled the snake to escape from that place and gritted his teeth, looking at Alex and Alicia.
'Wow, I am full of admiration right now, Chef Alicia!' Alex sent a thought transmission.
'Hehe… I am not someone who needs your protection anymore. I can proudly walk beside you this time.' Alicia smiled.
'Yeah. But your cooking skill still sucks. Are you still capable of cooking a poison like Firia? Just look at that one! You are cooking with poison instead of oil…' Alex joked, teasing her with a poker face.
'Shut up. I don't have time to practice cooking. Maybe when I have time, I can travel to other worlds and learn about cooking. I will make sure you say it's delicious at that time.' She snorted.
'Haha… I am looking forward to it.'
Alex then looked at the elder and summoned two dragons.
"Swallowing Heaven."
The two dragons locked their focus on the charred snake, looking at it like finding a delicacy.
"Since Alicia is cooking a snake this time, go boys, eat your fill! Tonight's main dish is Poisonous Snake cooked Ala Flambe!" Since he started joking, it was better to do it all the way.
The elder gritted his teeth and made the snake fly, confronting the two dragons even with the five swords with it.
Alex controlled the two dragons, overpowering the snake with Alicia's help. He could confront the elder this well because he didn't need to concern himself with the poison in his surroundings because Sherry took care of everything.
If he needed to say who contributed the most during this battle, he would say Sherry without hesitation.
She had used a huge amount of Divine Energy to fight those devils alone. She didn't need to, but she decided to burn all the poisons they used, letting the spirits destroy the enemies faster.
Sherry also used this chance to train her control over her Pure Fire with this new body of her, so it was a win-win situation.
The elder also knew this, albeit even with all those people, none of them could touch Sherry because of those monstrous four people. And yet, he also couldn't help them because of Alex and Alicia along with the observing Ilumi.
Even if he could defeat Alex and Alicia, he would surely be defeated by Ilumi. The best chance he got was to capture either Alex or Alicia and used them to gain peace with the opposite party, albeit the cost was too great.
"Never mind… There is no other way." The elder gritted his teeth and took out many poisons from his Space Ring as he swallowed everything.
He then released green energy from his body before his muscle bulked up and his Divine Energy sparked. His eyes turned red, and his hair spiked up.
"…" Alex furrowed his eyebrows. Although the poison could weaken or kill, he also knew that there were bound to be some poisons that could enhance one's abilities. Just like steroids on Earth, it was classified as "Medicine" but it was also harmful to one's body.
In this case, the elder decided to sacrifice his life to either kill him or capture him. Alex surely wouldn't let him and controlled the two dragons to suppress him.
"Since I used this, there is only one conclusion that would happen. I will win!" The elder appeared between the dragons and grabbed their teeth before throwing them away. He then looked at his hands that got burned by the Pure Fire hidden behind their teeth.
Even so, he felt nothing and continued flying toward Alex.
"!!!" Alex waved his sword and released the red light.
The devil still found it hard to destroy this attack and somehow stopped on his track, but Alex knew that he just barely stopped him.
Seeing this situation, Alicia came to him.
"Alex… Can I?" Alicia asked as she looked eager to show him something.
Alex was not sure about it, but he nodded his head since all of the devils would die here. He was curious about it anyway.
Alicia smiled as her blue eyes glowed a little bit as a pair of ice wings appeared on her back.
"True Spirit Body. Ice Phoenix Queen Divine Ice Form."
