152 Cursed life III

Part 1

Mia listened to the explanation from the north god about how her new body had changed now that she had turned into a champion.

Her body would no longer age as a result of being chosen by the god. She would remain as a twelve-year-old until the end of times or unless she would fall in battle.

Her blessing, which was to be her weapon to face against the demons, was a power that granted her the ability to absorb energy. North explained that she could use it to steal the power from demons and in turn, it would convert the energy into power for herself.

She would be stronger than the mightiest warrior, faster than the most agile animal, and more resistant than the hardest mineral.

There was also the matter of her curse, the only gift she ever received from her hateful mother. She had the power to manipulate beings that operated of feed on cursed energy, such as demons and spirits.

Mia was wondering if she should worry about that, but after North locked away her negative emotions, she realized that it probably wouldn't turn into a major problem.

There was also that matter as well, her locked emotions.

Mia could no longer feel any hatred towards her mother or the rest of her family. All of her anger, all of her sadness, they all just vanished after she finished the ceremony. She assumed that once she was rid of sadness, all that would remain was to feel joy. But instead, Mia wasn't feeling anything.

She was confused as to why that was. She assumed that just because she wasn't angry or sad, didn't automatically mean she was happy too.

She returned to her mansion after the sun showed up and noticed the servants looking at her. They all had worried expressions.

As she returned to her room, Mia passed by a mirror and noticed her face. Completely blank eyes that were staring at nothing and a mouth that showed no emotion at all.

"I should smile more..." she whispered as she used her index fingers to push the corners of her mouth up.

After trying to make a forced smile, she continued her path and saw her sister's room had a door open. She rushed towards it to share the good news and saw Ria crying while hugging her pillow on top of her bed.

"Why me?? Why me?? Why?? Why?" said her sister repeatedly.

"Big sis...? What's wrong?" Mia asked while she slowly entered the room.

"Mia!?" her sister asked while trying to hide her tears, "What re you doing here?? Dad will be mad at you again!!"

"Don't worry about that! I took care of it!!"

"What...?"

"Tell me what's wrong..." Mia asked while holding Ria's hand.

"..." Mia kept staring at her sister. She assumed she would have reacted with more repulse, but she simply kept holding her blank stare. She wasn't sad or angry, but she wasn't happy either.

"Mia...?" her sister asked, now looking rather worried.

"Don't worry big sis! I'll handle it!" Mia said, trying to force a smile.

The girl with a ponytail moved out of the room while her older sister watched in confusion.

"Handle it...??" Ria whispered, unsure of what her sister meant.

Mia kept walking towards her father's room. She was wondering why she wasn't feeling happy. She could no longer feel anything that could hurt her, but she still wasn't feeling anything that would bring her joy yet. She assumed things would change if she went forward with her plan and saved her sister from her father.

The girl barged into the room after making the doors fly all over the place and crashing against the wall. Inside, she spotted her father, her aunt Tula, and her brother Kio. It seemed like they were in the middle of a discussion.

"Mi- Mia?? What's the meaning of this??" her father asked while gazing at the door she just knocked out.

Mia looked at him with her usual blank expression. She wasn't angry with him anymore, which shocked her.

"Dad, I want you to cancel Ria's marriage and allow me to play with her again..." Mia asked with a cold tone.

"What?? What kind of nonsense are you spouting?? Explain how you knocked that door this instant!!"

Her dad was speaking with a raised tone, but Mia wasn't afraid of him anymore. Her body wasn't shaking like last time, it was completely immobile. But she was feeling something after all. It was faint, but she could see that her father was a little scared of her, and that was enough to make her feel something, a small glimpse of joy.

She started to move towards the man and made her demand once again, "Dad... Cancel Ria's marriage and let me play with her again..."

"This child has gone mad!! Dear!! You need to do something about her!!" yelled her aunt Tula, holding her son as if she was protecting him from her.

Just like before, Mia wasn't angry or annoyed at her.

"Mia!! I told you to explain yourself!! Stop disobeying me!!" her father screamed.

Mia still didn't felt anything. She was starting to worry she might be forgetting how to feel and decided to scare her dad a bit more to see if more joy would come out.

The girl then grabbed their bed and threw it out of the window with one hand using the power of the cursed energy her blessing absorbed to boost her strength.

Both her father and her aunt looked at her terrified, which made Mia smile a bit more. She finally was feeling something again. Their terror was bringing her emotions back.

"S- Stop!! Don't come any closer!! I'm your father!!" the man said while trembling and cowering against the wall.

"Are you...? Just a while ago you said I was just an accident you wish had never happened... Is that the kind of thing a father would say?" Mia said while approaching him with a huge smile at the sight of his desperate face.

"That- That- That was just a bad use of words... I was just a little out of my mind... Please calm down!"

"Calm down...? I'm pretty sure I'm the calmest one in here right now..." Mia was now inches away from his father and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt.

"Mi- Mia... Let me go... Please..."

Mia considered his request, but she could feel that if she did so, her joy would end. She wanted to feel more joy, scare him more.

She then looked at her aunt Tula and threw her father at her like he was a bag of trash.

The two fell down on the floor and stared at Mia who was just looking at them with a creepy smile stamped on her face.

"This is fun..." She commented.

Part 2

Ria was in her room trying to contain her tears when she suddenly heard someone knocking on her door.

She moved to open it and saw that one of her father's servants was standing there blankly looking at her, which made Ria feel very uncomfortable.

"Hilda...? What's wrong...?" Ria asked.

"Your sister requests your presence..." answered the maid.

"My sister...?"

Hilda pulled Ria by the hand and brought her to the living room where her entire family was reunited and standing still with blank stares on their faces. Her siblings, her father, her mother, some of her father's wives, they all were gazing at nothing and playing the world's most boring game 'Simon says not to move'.

"What is going on...?" Ria asked.

"Ah!! Big sis!! You're here!! Thanks, Hilda!" Mia said as she entered the room carrying a plate full of candy.

"Mia...?"

"Look!! Look!! I solved everything!! Watch!!" Mia clapped her hands and her father gave a few steps forward to now stand in the middle of the room.

"Ria... You no longer have to marry anyone... You no longer have to do any work... And you can play with your sister as much as you want..." he said with the most dead tone possible.

"What...??" Ria just seemed lost and a little scared. Her father was acting like a zombie.

"Isn't that great?? Now all our problems are solved!!" Mia said while shoving candy down her throat.

Ria started to analyze her family members and began to wave her hand on their faces to see if they would blink, but none showed any reaction, "Mia... What did you do??"

"Oh, it wasn't me! They did it!" the girl said as she pointed at the ceiling.

Ria looked up and watched as several figures in ragged clothes started to appear by phasing through the ceiling. They all had see-through bodies.

"Aahhh!! What are those???" Ria reacted.

"They are spirits!" Mia answered as she finished her bowl of candy.

"Spirits...??"

"Yeah!! Turns out that my lineage can control beings made of cursed energy or something... And spirits are nothing but cursed energy! So I can just order these guys to do whatever I want!! Watch!"

Mia snapped her fingers and her father brought her aunt Tula and her mother completely tied up to the center of the room.

"Mia!!! Let us go!!! Let us go right now!!!" her mother yelled.

"Please!! Please don't hurt us!!" her aunt screamed.

Mia approached her aunt and raised her hand, followed by some kind of mouth appearing at the end of it.

"Mia!!?? What is that!!??" Ria gasped.

"It's my blessing silly!" the girl responded as she grabbed her aunt's neck.

"Blessing??"

"Yeah... Guess all those visits to the church and all those times praying to be a kid forever finally paid off after all as a very nice god appeared in front of me yesterday and gave me a blessing to absorb energy and to never age! Fun, right?"

The more Mia spoke the less Ria understood. Tula started to shake as Mia continued to use her blessing to remove all the magic energy from inside her body.

"What are you doing to her??" Ria asked.

"Spirits can't enter a human body if they are filled with magic energy... so I need to empty her first..."

"Enter a body???"

Mia finally released her aunt after being done and commanded one of the spirits that were hanging out in the ceiling to enter the lady's body.

Her eyes started to glow red for a couple of seconds before returning to normal moments later. Mia released her aunt who now also had a blank expression on her face, just like the other members of her family.

"Aunt Tula, would you please be so kind as to slap dad on the face?" Mia requested.

"As you wish..." the woman said, followed by doing as she was ordered and giving Mia's father a red mark in the shape of a hand. The man barely flinched from the impact.

"Oh, that wasn't very nice... Dad, shouldn't you fight back?" Mia requested again.

"As you wish..." The man said, and just like Tula, he gave the woman a huge slap that made her face go red.

Mia turned her attention towards Ria who just looked at everything with confusion and horror.

"You wanna try? It's pretty fun!" suggested the girl.

"Mia... You... " Ria could barely finish her words, but she was then interrupted by Mia's mother.

"Mia, please!!! Stop this madness right now!!" cried the woman.

"Hmm..? Why should I? I finally got what I wanted..."

"But, look at what you did to your family!!"

"What family...? These are just a bunch of people who were forced to live under the same roof because they have nowhere else to go... You guys were never my family... None of you ever treated me with love..." Mia said while pushing her mother down with her foot. She assumed that would give her joy but she felt nothing.

"Mia, please!! How can you just treat us like this?? I'm your mother!! I'm your own blood!!"

Mia looked at her. She didn't felt hate towards her, but she still wanted to make her pay. She wanted to make her feel exactly what she felt yesterday when she was crying and begging for help.

"You brought this upon yourself, mommy... What did you think was going to happen after angering the most powerful twelve-year-old in the country? Just take this as divine punishment."

Mia then raised her hand and began to suck out all her mother's magic energy as well.

"No! Stop! Stop!!!" her mother begged, but Mia just ignore her. Once she was done, Mia ordered another spirit to enter her body as well.

"Stand up mother..." Mia commanded to the spirit inside the woman.

"As you wish..." the lady followed her order and awaited further commands.

Mia was wondering what was wrong with her. Despite doing everything she wanted, getting all the revenge she desired against her family, she still wasn't happy. She should be jumping of satisfaction at the sight of the people she despised being humiliated like this, but the thing is, she no longer hated any of them due to the sealing of her emotions, so right now, watching them like this was causing barely any reaction at all.

The more Mia forgot about her negative emotions, the more she started to also forget what it was like to have positive emotions as well. She then started to worry that soon she would be unable to feel any emotion at all.

She looked at her father and decided to make an experiment. She wondered if a more extreme reaction could finally trigger her feelings.

"Mom... Aunt Tula..." she said, followed by taking a deep breath before continuing, "Kill dad"

"As you wish!" both said.

The two women then grabbed a pair of knives from the kitchen and stabbed the man in the heart. One on the front, and one on the back.

Mia observed as her father dropped dead on the floor, and once again, she felt nothing. She began to wonder if maybe another test would show better results.

"Hey, big sis... How about you try this ti- Big sis??" Mia turned around to look for Ria, but the girl was nowhere to be seen.

She heard the sound of a horse galloping towards the woods and spotted Ria riding in it getting as far away from the mansion as she could.

Mia tilted her head in confusion wondering what her sister was doing and decided to leap out of the window to chase after her.

"Big sis!!! Where are you going???" the girl yelled. She was running with great speed and coming closer and closer to Ria thanks to her blessing.

"Stay back!!! Stay away from me!!!" Ria responded as she looked at Mia with tears on her eyes.

Mia just showed no emotion and tried to grab her. Ria was the only thing in her life right now that could bring her any reaction, so she really didn't want to lose her.

But as she proceeded to reach for her, Ria's hand suddenly began to glow out of nowhere. Ria got scared from her hand doing something it never did before and she ended up falling from her horse the moment the animal bumped into a rock.

"Aaaahhh!" Ria screamed as she fell, forcing her hand to make an arc motion and opening some kind of portal in midair, which Ria ended up falling into and completely vanishing.

Mia saw her sister disappearing and stopped running to see if she would come back.

"Big sis...??" she whispered.

She waited for a couple of minutes, wondering if her sister would return, but nothing happened. She assumed she would be sad over losing the one person she cared about, but just like always, no emotion would surface on her.

But despite being expressionless, tears still started to appear and began to drip from her eyes. Her completely blank, empty eyes.

"I see... So you ended up leaving me as well..."
