Chapter 112: The Three Godly Classes

Name:Game's Dogma Author:
While Drako Yau and Chris were having a conversation inside the thatched hut, an unexpected visitor arrived outside the hut. A spatial rift appeared for a brief second, and the person stepped through it and landed on the grassy ground. Wearing simple clothes made of unknown fur and carrying a tattered bag which had been patched up countless times, the dirty and filthy man approached the hut.

‘Pick one, you said…’ Drako Yau was still in a daze. ‘There’s so many of them, which one should I choose…’

Knock knock.

Just when Chris was about to say something, someone knocked on the door. Chris immediately frowned and muttered, ‘Why is that guy coming over today?’

The door sprung open, and the filthy man entered the hut while groaning, ‘Chris, any good wine and dishes today…’

His gaze soon landed on Drako Yau. ‘Hm? A Maverick?’ He got closer to Drako Yau and started sizing him up.

The small hut got even more cramped with three people now gathered in it. Chris sighed and said, ‘What brings you here? It’s been almost two years since you last visited, no?’

The filthy man chuckled and replied, ‘I just have this feeling that something’s nice gonna happen if I come today. See, spot on indeed.’ He sat heavily onto the ground and continued, ‘Go on, just ignore me, pretend I’m not here.’

Chris rolled his eyes at the man who was still curiously sizing Drako Yau up and really acted like the man wasn’t there. ‘As for class progression, it’s mainly up to what you’re good at. If we’re just going with how powerful the classes are though, I have a few recommendations.’

He snapped his fingers. The countless images vanished until three sets of images remained, each projected onto the left, right, and rear wall respectively. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

‘These three professions can only be obtained through class progression as a wanderer. In other words, they’re the three most powerful hidden classes. Of course, classes and skills are just secondary, it all comes down to the practitioner. I suppose you understand what I mean, right?’

Drako Yau nodded. Taking Fong Sai Yuk as an example, his Pugilist class was a very decent close quarters combat class, yet Drako Yau could toy with him easily to the point which he couldn’t resist. It was all up to how good the person was.

‘Godly Spearmaster, Godly Shooter, Godly Arcanist. To sum these three classes up in simple words, pick Godly Arcanist for damage and area-of-effect skills, Godly Shooter for ranged attacks and attack speed, and Godly Spearmaster for melee combat.

‘Of course, these are all just my personal recommendations. There is no such thing as the strongest class. The only thing that matters is how suitable a class is for you. Pick one.’

Drako Yau shrugged and said, ‘Godly Spearmaster it is, you already know I use a spear, don’t you?’

Chris laughed and answered, ‘Why would I know? But speaking of Godly Spearmaster, your master’s originally…’

‘Ahem.’ The filthy man made dry coughs at the right moment and told Chris, ‘Watch what you say.’

Realising what the man meant, Chris smiled and said, ‘Nevermind, pretend I didn’t say that.’

Drako Yau alone was left in the dark. However, he knew enough to guess that the old geezer had something to do with the Godly Spearmaster class.

‘Alright, now that you’ve chosen Godly Spearmaster, I’ll tell you the class progression quests.’ Chris pointed two fingers out. ‘There are two quests. The first one is to kill the wild boss in the Highlands of John, the Failed Rampaging Bear King. The second one is to win 100 consecutive matches in the arena.’

‘Ding!’ A system notification popped up as well. ‘Class progression quest received: Path of the Godly Spearmaster.’

‘Quest One conditions: There are no limitations on teaming up. The quest is completed once the Failed Rampaging Bear King is slain.’

‘Quest Two conditions: Only consecutive wins are counted. If a loss is recorded, the count will reset. Only one versus one matches are counted.’

‘General condition: You must equip a spear.’

Drako Yau turned silent. This quest… It’s on a whole different level than the ones which Zephyrwolf whine about…

He took in a deep breath; the only thing he could do was to roll with the punches. As such, he wasn’t too bothered or annoyed by the quest’s difficulty.

Chris observed Drako Yau’s reaction. Drako Yau’s complexion changed for a moment when he heard about the class progression quest, but he quickly recovered his composure; even Chris was impressed.

‘Kid, you’re not bad at all. It’s hard to imagine that the bald old geezer took in such a calm and composed disciple.’

The filthy man also got sentimental and said, ‘Right, it’s like they’re from two different worlds.’

‘Now that the class progression quest’s out of the way, let’s get on with the second issue.’ Chris had a casual look when he spoke of the seemingly impossible quests, but now his complexion now turned grim. ‘Kid, you learnt the Vitality Mantra right?’

Drako Yau was startled. ‘Yes, what is it?’

The filthy man exchanged gazes with Chris, both of them saying ‘As expected’ with their expressions.

‘The Vitality Mantra alone is perfectly fine, but you, kid, derived something incredible from it.’

Chris’ gaze pierced through Drako Yau’s body and visualised three individual forces in his body. One was icy blue, while the other was fiery red. Between the two forces, a jade force stood like a barrier, separating the blue and red forces.

‘In the world of cultivation styles, the Vitality Mantra is similar to the Wanderer class in this world. It is the seed of all cultivation styles.’

This was the first time Drako Yau had heard of such a saying. ‘Seed?’

Chris nodded. ‘Even back in the ancient ages when martial arts and cultivation styles dominated the world, the Vitality Mantra was never a popular style. Very few practiced the style—because it was late-blooming.

‘The Vitality Mantra is the seed of all cultivation styles. It can derive any kind of style, even ones that never existed before. However, it took a great deal of time to cultivate and it was extremely uncertain. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

‘It took at least a decade for the Vitality Mantra to derive something useful and applicable in battle. In those 10 years, the Vitality Mantra was useless apart from a minor increase in stamina and overall recovery rate. As such, most martial arts practitioners chose styles that were well established instead.

‘The Vitality Mantra was no secret or rare cultivation style either, or rather, it was extremely common to the point that everyone could learn it as long as they wanted to in the ancient times. This was why plenty of cultivators who were poor or masterless practiced the Vitality Mantra. But the chance of deriving a good style was simply too low.’

Chris then looked into Drako Yau’s eyes with a heavy gaze. ‘And you, have hit the jackpot.’ His gaze penetrated through Drako Yau’s body, as if he was looking at some sort of ancient monster. ‘The Vitality Mantra within you has given rise to two polar opposite elements, ice and fire. Normally speaking, water and fire can never blend together, yet these two elements which strongly oppose one another co-exists within you…

‘This style is never heard of before. Any style that bears two elements is extremely powerful and rare. However, your elements do not supplement one another and are polar opposites, which is why you’re in great danger.’
