Alex fell asleep almost instantly once he lied on the bed. The rooms were filled with low pitch humming which made a rather devious environment but Alex didn't notice anything. "He looks rather promising now that he passed that test… It seems like this time, It might be an actual blessed one, Not one of those synthetic ones made by Larxius… His powers actually seem to have no end and the center of all of that energy isn't originated from the Upper Realm but from the…" The voice spoke but it wasn't able to continue after. A roar stopped the voice from speaking any further, "Silence young one… You know that we can't ridicule the great Larxium no matter where we are. It's our law no matter how much we dislike it. All we can do now is see if this is the one who will get the god killer in his hands or not… Maybe once he proves his worth by passing this final challenge, I might be set free from this trap and get my revenge… Until then, don't speak any ill towards Larxius, I have fallen because of that. I don't need more promising younglings like you to fall as well…" The voice was the same as the one who was talking to Alex this entire challenge.
He seemed to be angry when speaking of his past. The female voice gasped and spoke quickly, "I have sinned, forgive me." It sounded like she was on the floor, begging. The male voice laughed and spoke, "Lad, After a few thousand years, I finally have someone who can save me… It seems like the one above all selected you on a fateful day to be the heroic one and come save us from the increasing disbalance. I might have failed but You might now. Pass this next challenge of mine and set me free… I will be the one who gets you to complete your destiny." His voice sounded dignified.
Alex, who was slept didn't properly hear what was going on, it seemed to be purposeful by the man so Alex couldn't hear them at all. But Alex did get a small feeling that he was being watched but just glossed over it. After an unknown amount of time, Alex got up from the bed. He didn't yawm or didn't even feel tired. He was full of energy and was ready to get to the challange. 'Sleeping here feels very different. There is no groggy feelign when waking up, It just feels smooth…' Alex thought to himself. He was very hot but Alex felt pleasant. The pressure he was feeling when he initially fell on this floor also didn't feel unbearable anymore. His body had gotten used to it.
"Hmm, good. Now, Prepare yourself. The Final challenge will begin soon." The voice spoke in a serious tone. Alex nodded and took out his dagger. His mana was also full and his injured body was also completely healed even though Alex didn't heal it himself. 'That tired feeling I had earlier… I don't have it anymore. I guess It's good because I need to be completely ready before a battle but I guess what he said was very true… My body might have been healed but my mind was lacking energy and thus made me feel tired even though I was physically able… I need to note this down for the future as well, I can't let my mind get tired during battle. It could end into a disaster if I did that.' He thought as he stretched slightly.
After warming up his body, Alex looked around the room. He was focused, He had to win this next battle. If he did so, He would get a weapon so powerful that it is called the god killer. A weapon that could transform into any form most suitable for the user. Having something like that instead of some basic dagger would be a wish come true for Alex.
"Alright. The Battle will commence now!" The voice roared as everything turned pitch black around Alex. Alex didn't worry however, He stayed calm and observed the area around him. After addressing that he wasn't falling and there was no one else running around while he couldn't see, Alex slowly took a step forward.
Alex looked surprised for a second, 'Was that my footstep? It sounded like there was another footstep further away…' Alex thought as he cautiously took another step. He could barely hear it but there was another footstep exactly around the time he stepped. Alex curiously took a louder step.
This time again, He could hear another step, as loud as his. Alex looked at the pitch dark towards the direction of the footstep and sighed, "This seems more complicated than I had expected…" Alex lose some of his cool as he looked around. However, As soon as he spoke, Alex heard an echo.
"This seems more complicated than I had expected…"
Alex's eyes opened wide when he heard his voice echo. He didn't know what was going on but a certain thought made him freeze. Alex readied his dagger and spoke, "Who's there?"
As he spoke, Alex could hear the voice saying the same words he used at the same time. It wasn't even an echo anymore, it was the same sentence at the exact same time that he spoke… It felt more like there was another Alex who was doing the same thing as him.
Alex slowly walked forwards, towards the footsteps. The footsteps also became louder. Alex was determined to find out who his enemy was. Alex continued to walk closer and close until he could visibly see a body in front of him. Alex looked at the person in front of him in a shocked gaze. The person in front of him was the same height, same body type but everything else wasn't visible. It looked like Alex was looking at his own silhouette. Everything he did, the body followed. It was a very bizarre experience for Alex.
