Alex's eyes opened wide as he looked at the sigh in front of him. He was hiding behind a wooden sigh to protect himself from the arrows as he shot the close ranged reapers but seeing the hole in the sign was of concern for him.
Alex looked at his sides to see a cut had appeared as a searing pain filled his body. At this moment, Alex knew that he could no longer just do as he did before. He had killed well over half of the reapers but as more were killed, The remaining reapers seemed to have gained power. He watched as his wounds closed from his healing.
Knowing that this was no longer the way to take down the reapers, Alex jumped to the ground. He watched as a few more arrows struck the signs and completely destroy it. "Ah wow." Alex was impressed by the power behind each arrow.
He killed a few long ranged reapers with well put shots but there were still around a dozen that were shooting him. Alex noted that while he was battling, The reapers seemed to have increased numbers. His confusion on this ended as Hades explained,
'There were a dozen or so of invisible reapers that came through as well it seems. I didn't expect that myself so I didn't scan them with my powers but looking at the increase in numbers. They opted of instead of trying to kill you by attacking from the shadows, they were to join the others and attack you upfront. However, it does seem like even though the majority joined the small reaper army, a few of the more powerful ones are still lurking around, trying to get you when your guard is down.' Hades gave his words of warning to Alex.
Alex looked around and nodded. After learning of the reapers, Alex could notice a faint disruption in certain places around him. The reapers seemed to be hiding around the town as Alex had killed off its comrades.
*swoosh*
An arrow flew by Alex, barely missing him. Seeing the arrow, Alex shook his head and ran forward to the remaining dozen or so close ranged reapers. He retracted the blades from the gun but before Alex could use It, his weapons changed.
The guns slowly changed into a long spear. Alex looked at the spear with confusion. 'Here are memories of my battles using the spear.' Hades quickly spoke as Alex's brain processed hundreds of bloody battles in his brain. Alex snapped back to his own reality after a few seconds and felt a deep stinging pain in his body.
There were three arrows that had penetrated him and one reaper has stabbed him in his stomach. It had taken a few seconds for Alex to process the battles but it seemed like a gamble for Hades. 'Kid, I'm sorry for what I just put you through but you need to fight, You wouldn't have survived if you had jumped right in with those small blades. This little pain is the price for more power!' He seemed to be very sorry for Alex's current state but he knew that it was worth the risk.
As expected, Alex, who used the spear as support to barely stand slowly got up and walked forward. His wounds slowly healed but the deep cuts and arrow wound wouldn't close fast enough. But it seemed to not matter at all, The immense pain seemed to cause something within Alex. His eyes were wide as his pupils were glowing the same crimson red.
Alex started to lose control as his body was slowly vibrating. His chest was bare as his clothes seemed to have been torn off. Alex's posture was also bent and all his weight was facing forwards. The reapers continued to attack but unlike last time, Alex dodged them all. He looked even wilder now.
Alex was going berserk! He couldn't feel a thing right now. All he knew was to kill. "KILL KILL KILL" Alex mumbled with a deep voice as he cut out a reaper with the spear. More arrows had penetrated Alex's body be he could no longer feel the pain. All his focus was on killing.
A knife quickly flew through the sky and hit Alex on the back. Alex turned around and looked to an empty space on the roof. He looked around himself and towards the roof again.
Alex had killed off the dozen close ranged reapers. But his thirst wasn't satisfied. He looked back at the roof and jumped towards it. He seemed to grab tightly on something.
Slowly a reaper seemed to have appeared in Alex's hands. Alex smiled as he tightened his grip and broke the reapers' neck, killing it instantly. Alex then jumped around the town going after the remaining few invisible reapers.
The reapers seemed to get more powerful but it looked like there was a limit to how powerful they could get. Fortunately, their peak powers were not strong enough for Alex and he slowly wiped them out.
After wiping out the reapers, Alex seemed to have gained consciousness. As soon as he did, however, Alex fell to the floor, his eyes wide as all the pain that seemed to have been nullified before attacked him at once. Howling screams of pain filled the town as Alex could no longer even think due to the pain. His eyes were red and his face pale. Alex's mind nearly destroyed from the pain itself.
'KID! KID! GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF!' Hades' voice seemed to finally reach Alex as the pain seemed to have numbed. Alex, still pale and in shock tried to stand up but his body seemed to have given in to the pain. He slowly dragged himself to a wall and sat up beside it.
'Kid, you're finally back… That was dangerous but it seems like you awoke one of the abilities from the black cube… Right now you're safe but I don't know about a few minutes from now… Take deep breaths and try to get yourself together. Pain is, at the end of the day a mental thing… You won't be the same after this but I need you to get a hold of yourself!' Hades sounded desperate.
His desperation however seemed to be in reason. Alex looked towards the gate as it slowly rumbled. A figure nearly 9 feet tall walked out from the gate.
