5 Saved By A Demon

Name:Hero's Return Author:Artpyro
The realms, whilst not exactly far from eachother were split by a transparent barrier that a normal human could not cross, only through extremely intricate interplanar transportation formations could one cross to another realm. Each realm had differing levels of power but only two were truly more powerful than the rest, The Demonic Realm and The Celestial Realm. One side possessed and harnessed the power of darkness whilst the other possessed and harnessed the power of light. These two realms flourished because of the amount of extremely powerful individuals they held and the constant sources of energy they used. Whilst the powerful individuals they held were roughly on par with the power held by the 100 Legends, the amount each had was way above 100, the Celestial Realm had about 2000 [Named Celestial Elite's] whilst the Demonic Realm had about 2500 [Named Demonic Elite's]. This does not mean that the top ranks in the 100 Legends were weaker than anyone in the 4500 individuals [Named The 4500 Extremes], in terms of ranking across all of the planes, the top 20 of the Legends were in the top 50 across the entire population of all of the realms, this was the case but the mere advantage in quantity vastly increased these realms total power.

The reason why these two realms didn't use their power to conquer the other realms was for two seperate reasons for each realm. For the Celestial Realm, the ruler the Celestial King was an honestly good individual, they were respectful, never hesitated to attempt to sacrifice themselves for their kingdom and never succumbed to even the most tempting offers by the demons. They would naturally not invade other realms to conquer them, they actually attempted to form an alliance with the highest powers in each realm so that they could one day unite the planes under one banner and live in peace. This was the dream of the Celestial King and they would try to achieve it without killing, injuring or anything else negative to anyone innocent. The only one's the Celestial King was willing to go to war and defeat were the demons of the Demon Realm and the one at the top of it, the Demonic King. This was also the reason why the Demon Realm didn't invade the other realms, the Celestial Realm kept their attention on them in the constant war that they fought. This war had been going on for the past 500 years and had not stopped. Whilst the team of 6 legendary figures back then had forced the Demonic King into hiding, they lost their leader and the 5 others had left the war and gone back to their homeland, no one knew where they were now, how powerful they were, or even if any of them were still alive. Neither the Celestial Realm nor the Demonic Realm had learned about their names but they did know about their story, naturally they had known about their legend but not of their personal relationships to eachother nor their names, they were merely a band of adventurers so even though they had entered the top 20 of the 100 Legends the names would not be recognised by anyone. The only one who had known anything about the relationships between them were the Demonic King, and even he only had a very simple understanding - during his fight against the 6 of them he had learnt their names through how they called each other and how much they trusted each other through how they constantly took advantage of all their strengths whilst covering each other's weaknesses. He knew about how 5 of that team were able to increase their power enough to join the top 20 of the 100 Legends, or to his rankings, the top 50 of the 4500 Extremes.

This is why even though the Demonic King still had his army and could easily send them to dominate the other realms, the presence of the Celestial Realm had stopped him every single time he attempted to and it eventually turned into a war that had been going on for over 500 years. Currently, the most the Demonic King could do was send one or two of his generals to silently investigate a matter in another realm without being seen. His Demonic Elite's may have been powerful but many of them would be obliterated in a fight against any of the 100 Legends alone, even the weakest of the 100 Legends could fight at least 3 Demonic elite's at once and could win, whilst the strongest would most likely be able to fight 50 without breaking a sweat. Because the Demonic King only had about 100 Demonic Elite's that weren't fighting in the war and could send out to do something else, he hadn't dared provoke any of the realms with his current power, the presence of the Celestial Realm was something he could barely handle already, getting another realm involved would most likely lead to not only his army's death, but his own. He had to wait until he had healed.

With the Demonic King so weak and having so little people to send out by themselves to the other realms, this would mean that the Celestial King could easily join the battle and take out the Demonic King, but there is a problem, the Demonic King had seen this outcome centuries ago and had sent his most powerful generals that specialised in stealth to the Celestial Realm, he currently had over 400 powerful generals hiding in the Celestial Realm constantly giving him information and acting as a threat for the Celestial King to stay, if the Celestial King had left their realm to join the battle then their own realm would be left defenseless and the 400 generals would begin to attack, whilst the 300 generals in the Celestial King's realm could hold them off for a time, they would eventually lose and the Celestial Realm would be destroyed by these 400 generals. Naturally, with the Demonic King placing spies in the Celestial Realm, the Celestial King had placed their own spies in the Demonic Realm, with both of them having spies in each realm they would sometimes purposefully spread information to make sure that the opposing side would hear something, and after the Demonic King purposefully publicised this information, the Celestial King could no longer leave their realm - whilst they could easily sacrifice their realm and win the war, they weren't willing to get innocent people in their realm killed just so they could win a war. They didn't want a pyrrhic victory.

Even with all this going on though, as long as a Demonic Elite was not found by someone who was one, more powerful and two, cared enough to kill them, they could easily traverse a realm without worrying about anything else. Seeing as the Celestial Realm didn't take interest in the waves of energy that had passed by, they didn't check who it was and they didn't think of it as anything that would affect their war against the Demonic Realm, so naturally they wouldnt' know that the Demonic King had sent a Demonic Elite to kill a single person. The Demonic Elite 'Dalvan' had been given a job by his king, and he was extremely efficient in assassination, so he was already planning how to kill this child as fast and as painful as possible. Whilst he was lost in his thought's he finally came up with a perfect plan and then looked forward to a wooden house that emanated that faint aura. Demonic Elite's and Celestial Elite's had a sensitive sense towards aura and like a dog with smell, could track a faint trace of it all the way to it's current source. After picking up the trace the demon sped forward towards the village that Sora was currently in.

Currently in the village 2 years had passed, the realms were incomparibly vast, including the trip from the Demonic Realm to the interplanar gate and from this realms interplanar gate to the wooden house, it took the demon about 2 years, and now Sora was 6 years old. He was an innocent boy with pitch-black spiked hair, azure eyes, wore black clothes with hints of yellow, white and blue and had a clear sense of the person he wanted to be. He was completely oblivious to the fact that he had reincarnated, was being chased by an assassin and was being watched by 5 of the same legends he wanted to become. His normal life was him playing around with the other kids of the village and preparing for the day he would become a hunter, this was what he saw as his first step to becoming a Legend. By now after 6 years of constant watching, the team of 5 weren't impatient about their leader growing up but were starting to find their roles as family tiresome, whilst waiting wouldn't be too bad for them as they had already waited 400 years. They had to consistently act as family every day and even Xion had grown tired of the act. As soon as their leader became a hunter they would most likely have to wait a couple more years before he became strong enough to enter a school.

Within a small house with a single floor was 5 people. Seth was currently on a sofa with his arm covering his eyes "Im so bored, nothing's happened in 6 years - the only interesting thing was him choosing his weapons" Sitting up from where he was lying down he looked directly at Dezrin "When do you think he'll begin hunting, and after he begins hunting when will he go to a school" Dezrin looked back at him as he was reading a book "I've told you this so much times already... He'll begin hunting a year from now and will most likely leave 3 years from now - You should find something to do Seth, we're still going to be here for 3 years." With his question answered he once more lied down on the sofa and looked straight up at the ceiling. "What do I have to do... Natu and Iona are back to the way they were in the old days so they play together like children, it's cute, true but I have nothing to do with them gone. Mi- Xion... Um, yeah Xion is also bored, me and her constantly want to spar but we can't fight without probably destroying the town in the process. You just... read... or write... I don't know how you find that fun. Me and Xion have already joined the hunters at one point and I think we were getting to into the actual physical activity too much to the point that we started seeming too powerful for this village. So we decided to leave, everyone found it weird but accepted it after a year. But now there really is nothing to do." Dezrin just looked at him with and sighed "Well there's nothing i can recommend that wouldn't involve us revealing our power so you'll have to just... Walk around or do some sight-seeing or something." Seth looked back at Dezrin whilst lying down and just scoffed at him "Well thanks, that's really helpf-" Seth's body suddenly straightened as he stood up from the couch, he was looking at a wall as if he wanted to break it and suddenly disappeared. Seeing this, Dezrin knew that only a threat to the leader could make Seth react like this so he spread his aura out to a radius far beyond the village, but he couldn't find anything. With this he gave up on finding something but he sent a message through aura to the other 3 team members who currently weren't here "Guys, Seth just found something and instantly left the room, I couldn't find anything which means it's probably a demon, we were all expecting this to happen at some point so someone stay near the leader, Seth will most likely be able to kill him but we don't know how many are here - stay alert". After hearing this Xion looked towards the home that Sora was living in with his parents and sent another message through aura "Natu, Iona split up and watch the west and east sides of the house, ill take case of the north and the south sides". The team had now set up a full defensive formation, there was absolutely no way the demon could make it through.

Seth was now in a forest where the demon was lying in wait. There was one reason why only Seth had been able to sense the demon, because this demon specialised in stealth, naturally no one should be able to find them. But...

The demon was currently invisible and his aura was completely covered, most of the 100 Legends wouldn't be able to see him unless they were extremely powerful or specialised in stealth aswell. Standing on a branch was a red-haired man, who jumped down and landed on the ground, the demon was caught off guard by this man who had no aura about him but then chalked it off to a wandering stranger and was about to continue making his way to the village. "Oi, demon, where do you think you're going?" The demon quickly turned to look at who this figure was, shocked at the fact that he could even sense him, the demon finally revealed himself to be a red, humanoid snake, the red demon in front of Seth had the scales of a snake and black claws. "How have you sensed me human? Do you also specialise in stealth?" Seth looked at him with a smile on his face "I've already sensed the surrounding area for as far as the eye can see, I can tell you're the only one here. Which means you don't have back-up. I'll tell you something about myself demon, I'm not a stealth specialist" The demon was shocked at this, how did Seth find him then? "but I've been extremely bored..." As he said this Seth's skin began to grow scales, and a ring of fire began to form behind his back, his red hair now slowly turning orange and his eyes turning from a crimson red to a bright yellow. "This is a time for me to have fun" At this point, Seth looked like a red-orange humanoid dragon with a ring of flames behind him "The training that I went through put me through hell, literally, I was in hell. Only after adapting and surviving did I come out much more powerful than I had ever been - but that wasn't the only thing. This is how i found you demon... Demon's have a natural sense to aura, and no matter how hard you try to mask yours..." Seth stared at the terrified demon in front of him who could now sense the full crimson aura emanating from this man in front of him, he opened his mouth and was hesitant to speak "Y-You're-" The demon knew now how the person in front of him was able to find him even without being a stealth specialist.

"Yeah... With the full release of my draconic state and my aura out of control you should be able to sense it too..." Seth's eyes had pierced the Demon's soul, the killing intent in his eyes were enough to almost make him faint "With the ability to sense other demons, Im a half-demon..." As he said this Seth had stepped forward traversing the distance inbetween him and the demon in an instant. The last thing the demon saw was those yellow eyes and the last thing he felt was a fist that shattered both his body and his soul, the sudden burst of internal and external energy from Seth had created a shockwave that arrived at the village as a strong wind. After feeling this sudden burst of wind the entire party had been relieved and left the house to return to their own ones, "He's been bored for more than 2 years now... That one punch probably felt more satisfying to him than anything he's done over the past 6 years." Xion knew Seth's temperament very well and was actually kind of jealous, but she eventually let it go because she could not find the demon herself.

In the forest, the corpse of the demon was now on the ground and it's stomach shattered. Seth had regained his human form and was now staring at the corpse before him, the ring of fire behind his back was still present and with a click of his fingers, the ring blazed and the flames consumed the corpse, incinerating it, leaving no evidence of a battle, even the aura the demon held was incinerated. These flames were onse that Seth learned to control during his training after many times being burned by it, these flames were the entire point of his training, learning to control them was successful eitherway. Hellflame, succeeding would allow you to freely control such a powerful heat, failing and being burned would strengthen your body to the flame and eventually allow you to take the form of the original owner of the Hellflame, through this training one could increase their power extremely quickly but the chances of survival were low. Seth had undergone this training and came out with a slightly altered form, his eyes were no longer brown but red and his formerly blonde hair had also turned red. After expending his hellflame he felt invigorated, he would probably not get bored for the next 2 years or so, this one exchange was enough to satisfy him. As the ring of flame disappeared Seth had taken a deep breath and with a flicker, disappeared from the forest. Seth had undergone extreme training but he was not the only one, each and every person in the team had gone through some kind of extreme tribulation to acquire the power they had now, each person's was different but it was only through these trials that they managed to acquire the extreme power they have now.

As Seth flew back he thought back to the past and remembered why he had decided to endure this training. In a festival where a woman was demonstrating her control over hellflame.

S: "Azu, see that? That stuff's hellflame, I heard it's extremely hard to control but if you do learn how to control it the end result would be next - level"

A: "Yeah but I've already got light and darkness, how bout you try it?"

S: "What? Nah I think I'd burn myself to death trying to control that kind of flame"

A: "Know how helpful you would be if you could control such a powerful flame? You'd probably be able to fight Xion to a standstill?"

S: "That's impossible, I'll never be able to beat her - she wipes the floor with me every time we spar"

A: "That's because you're lazy, you don't train as hard as we do even though you're much more talented than most of us"

S: "It's cause I can't find a reason to, no point, it's not like the battles we fight are hard or anything, my current strength is enough."

A: "Hm, yeah i guess so. But promise me this, if a battle that we fight does get hard and even gets one of us killed, don't be sad over it, focus more on how to protect your remaining teammates and grow strong."

S: "You're so sappy man"

A: "Well it is the way I am... Yo... What do you think about the people who asked us to come to their area to fight a war by the way? The money is good but I have a bad feeling about it."

S: "Don't think it matters how any of us feel right now. That was a huge amount of money they were willing to pay, plus they said that the war wouldn't be too hard - the people we're fighting against seem to be only the weaker one's. We ain't going against generals or anything."

A: "Hmph, yeah, guess so..."

S: "What?"

A: "I feel like you've just jinxed it..."

S: "Really? Well, even if generals do come, we'll beat em - we can win any fight as long as your leading us. What's a war to us?"

A: "Hm, that's a good mindset to follow. Makes me blush"

S: "Shut up man"

A: "Can't help it"

Azu smiled and both him and Seth watched the woman demonstrate her prowess with the hellflame, they had stayed at the festival and drank until the night had ended, this night, to Seth, was one of the best of his life before they would enter the war that they didn't know would lead to their leader's death. To Seth, his leader was his best friend and one that he whole-heartedly trusted, he shared his highs and lows with his leader and, even though he was lazy back then, he would not hesitate to sacrifice himself for any of his teammates. After the death of his leader, Seth had been woken up to how weak they all were compared to their leader, he left the team to find a way to train in the conditions of hell, after finding the woman who demonstrated hellfire in the past he had asked how she trained. Taking her advice into account Seth would spend the next 10 years constantly testing with hellfire until he could finally control it. Leaving his 'hell' and coming back to the world with the strength to conquer an entire floating island and dominate his realm as 'The Soaring Calamity', waiting until the day his leader came back to keep both his promise made during the death to raise him and the promise on that day to protect him.
