6 Saved By A Lightning Strike

Name:Hero's Return Author:Artpyro
During the 2 years that the Demon Dalvan had been making the trip the Demonic King had made seperate plans just in case his general had failed, he had sent 4 more Demonic Elite's all with specific skillsets to ensure that no matter what kind of Legend might be protecting him, these Demonic Elite's were part of the top 50 of the 4500 Extremes aswell so they were naturally extremely strong, the King had very few extremely powerful Demonic Elite's that had nothing to do due to the war with the Celestial Realm but he did have some, sending 4 was an extremely bold move but he had decided to make the decision anyway to completely destroy the chance of Sora growing. With all these powerful Demonic Elite's, no matter what Legend it was, they would not be able to adapt to all the different kinds of magic and aura each Demonic Elite wielded, he did not care if all 5 of the demons he had sent had died as long as he could stop Sora from growing up. What he didn't know was that Sora wasn't under the protection of just 1 Legend, but 5!

After about a year each Demonic Elite had already arrived at the village, but they were extremely cautious as not only had the boy they had been told to kill had still been alive, but as they came here, they began to wonder why so much of them had been sent for just one boy - they eventually just concluded that their King really wanted this boy to die and would not accept failure, after seeing that he was still alive they confirmed their suspicions of someone protecting Sora, they also had to be as powerful if not more powerful than the Demonic Elite Dalvan, who, whilst not ranked in the top 50 of the 4500 Extremes, was still akin to a God in the eyes of the mortals. With 4 powerful Demonic Elite's here they had formulated a plan to attack from 4 sides at the same time, one of them had specialised in long distance reconnaissance and had already found where the boy lived. After about a month of careful planning they had finally been ready to take action. They split into a northern, eastern, southern and western formation where each side was covered, then they all began to move towards the house all at once, due to their familiarity to eachother's aura and powerful aura's of their own they could constantly communicate with eachother. With this formation, the one Legend they thought to have been protecting the child would be completely overwhelmed and not be able to cover all sides, they all proceeded forward.

"Fellow Generals, with this formation at least 2 of us should be able to make it past that Legend and kill the boy, sacrifice yourself if needed, if we don't accomplish this mission the King will kill us when we return anyway". All of them were confident in this plan working, but suddenly... "I found the Legend! It looks to be a woman."

"What?! How can that be?! I've found a Legend too! He looks to be a child"

"Im-Impossible! How can there be 2 Legends here!!! It's a man with a younger girl!"

"There's a man with red hair here, the aura he emanates is one of our own but the look in his eyes intends seem like he want's to kill me, this should be another Legend!"

"There's 5?!"

"Do not worry brother's! Rely on your special traits and we may be able to kill them all, from what i can sense the Legend in front of me is indeed powerful but my 'Physical Absorption' should completely counter her, judging from her aura and looks, it seems I'm fighting with 'The Violet Singularity', she should be at roughly the same level as us. But I still have a chance! The King should have known there were 5! No wonder he sent all of us, there was never only one immortal!"

"My 'Quick Adapt' counters this boys magic too! He's probably that 'Free-spirited Manager', I heard he can use any aspect of nature, it doesn't matter though, I can quickly adapt to any change he makes and survive his spells long enough to kill him, We can win this!"

"This man seems to specialise in using fire, his looks match the description of 'The Soaring Calamity'. My 'Antiheat Defense' should let me live long enough to kill him."

"These two emanate a powerful aura of the sea, they must be 'The Twins Of The Aquatic Castle', I heard they attack with water-based attacks, whilst I don't have any special ability besides being able to do extremely long range reconnaissance, this has given me an extremely sensitive sense towards all magic and aura related attacks so I can probably win against these two aswell"

"It doesn't matter how powerful they are, we were picked specifically to counter each and every one of their specialties and were even lucky enough to actually be matched against them even though we had originally planned for it to be a random attack - don't even think of running from these fights, or else we will all die by the hands of the King. Ready brothers?!"

"Charge forward!!!"

When The Demonic King had sent these specific 4 Demonic Elite's he had sent them in accordance with the team he remembered fighting against years ago, he had already sent Dalvan so he would've been the 5th person with specific traits against one of the people that he saw. To his luck, each demon, even though the formation and order was random, had perfectly found their opponent to be the one they had countered. 4 Seperate battle's to protect a child that doesn't even know he's being protected.

S: "Found my one, he counter's heat, this should be fun - I haven't had a good fight in ages, but even still, be careful guys, these guys should be near the top of power even in their realm, we might actually die if we are careless"

X: "Oooooooh, look at you, what happened to your arrogance over all these years? Even still i have to admit that you are right, from what I can tell he counter's physical attacks, I'm gonna have to get creative in this fight."

S: "Your one actually has a chance to beat you? He should be one of the stronger ones then"

X: "No, it's not that he's powerful, it's that his specialisation basically gives him a massive advantage over me, if he encountered any of you guys he would most likely be doomed."

N: "Seems like this guy's gonna be troublesome too... I can use a whole bunch of different types of magic but his aura is constantly changing, it seems like he can change the way his aura circulates and the way magical essence moves around him quickly to adapt to any change. I'll have to use my full power in this fight but..."

X: "No 'buts', these guys were already powerful to begin with, all of us will probably need to unleash our full power. This will be troublesome... a fight of this magnitude will most likely lead shockwaves that would travel all the way to the village, from all directions, there's no way they wouldn't find out there were Legends fighting nearby."

I: "This guy is extremely sensitive to his surroundings, we can't hit him. We don't want to go all out because it would go back to the village"

D: "He is able to predict where our attacks our going to pass before they hit him, we're going to have to get creative too"

X: "I said it... but none of us can go all out right now..."

N: "Guys! I have an idea! Go on the defense for now."

The team found this request to be weird but they fully trusted Natu "It should only take me about a minute, please just make sure that the demons don't cause any noticable changes that would make it all the way to the village, I only need a minute!" The team didn't hesitate and instantly entered into the defensive.

S: "I trust you, only a minute is easy"

X: "We all do, do what you have to do"

I: "Do your thing! Quickly!"

D: "We'll stick to being defensive for now then, Iona, let's go!"

I: "Okay!"

N: "Sorry guys but this will really help."

The Demons quickly noticed that the Legends in front of them had not taken the initiative to attack and we're staring at the demons, waiting for them to attack, whilst the demons knew that attacking first would put them at a disadvantage, the disadvantage that they would have gained was completely cancelled out by the fact that they already held a great advantage, also, if they didn't defeat the Legends they would die by the hands of the Demonic King anyway.

"These Legends aren't moving. Should we attack?"

"We don't have a choice! Brother's! Attack!"

4 Seperate Battle's then begun...

Xion was currently finding it hard to defend against the demon in front of her, like her, this demon had specialised in physical attacks, so it kept fighting in close range whilst being almost impervious to her attacks, she still dealt some damage but not much to matter. Despite trying to defend, the demon was making it extremely difficult as he was like a tank, constantly pressuring her whilst not taking damage himself. Because of this Xion had resulted into keeping just barely out of range of his attacks, moving agilely through the forest backwards as she kept her eyes on the demon. "For the fact that you are one of the most powerful Legends, your attacks are only able to make me feel slightly inconvenienced, all you are doing is either running from me or defending, it seems as if your power can only really be measured by your physical strength", Xion's mind during battle was very calm, with the amount of powerful foes she had challenged to test her own strength she had learned to let go of insults and reached a state where the only thing she focused on was the battle and what she would do to match the situation, the demon had purposely insulted her 'cowardice' to get her to charge towards him in rage "You truly are strong, but I will catch up to you eventually". Xion found it extremely easy to dodge this demon with her superior speed and was slowly waiting the minute that Natu had 'needed'. Whilst constantly dodging she had begun to reminisce about the past and what lead her to this situation in the first place.

In the distant past, a vast field, under the light of the moon was a camp, the fire had been put out and all of the members of the party with the exception of one were asleep in their seperate tents. Lying on the grass 'Azu' was staring at the starry night sky. From behind him, a short woman approached and sat by him, at this time Xion was significantly shorter then she was now, only about 5 feet, he looked to his side to see who it was and smiled before gazing back up at the sky.

A: "Xion. Do you think I'll be able to survive this fight?"

X: "Don't ask me a question like that, It's not one I want to answer"

A: "Yeah, it's pretty bad isn't it? We've shared quite the adventures together, you, me, them, I feel like it's all been leading up to this fight."

Xion now had a clear frown on her face, she had already faced the reality that the enemy they were going to fight, the battle that would happen soon, would most likely lead to their leader's death. She looked down on him.

X: "Is there really no way that we can convince you to run from this fight?"

When asked the question 'Azu' had stayed quiet for a long time, not letting the smile leave his face.

A: "You guys have already tried. I'm happy that you guys care but... this isn't a fight I can run away from."

Hearing this Xion had snapped at him.

X: "What do you mean?! This 'fight' has been happening long before we joined! We didn't even know it existed! How can it not be a fight you can run from?! It wasn't even our place to join it, why are you taking it upon yourself to finish it?! You're the one that doesn't mind sacrificing himself! So... so... why are you the only one that isn't scared of it..."

Tears began to flow down from Xion's eyes, she had cared alot for their leader, whilst she was usually cold the relationship they had was built over a very long time together. Watching someone she had followed for so long willingly want to sacrifice themselves saddened her to the point of tears. The smile on her leader's face began to fade as he sat up, still staring at the stars.

A: "Why aren't I scared? Heh"

'Azu' stood up and looked up at the stars, the smile slowly forming on his face once again.

A: "Of course I'm scared... why wouldn't I be... I may be an idiot sometimes but I'm not so oblivious as to think that I can win this fight. Anyone would be scared if they were on the same boat as me."

Xion looked up at him with shock in her eyes, he was actually scared? Then...

X: "Why then! Why are you still going to fight! Why are you still smiling?!"

A: "Because..."

'Azu' had turned back to the woman sitting beneath him and held out his hand for her to hold, Xion was confused at first but eventually took it and he helped her stand up to her feet. He then turned back to look upwards to the moon.

A: "If i don't go this realm will be invaded. People will die, and maybe... maybe even you guys would die too... I'd rather die trying to save everyone, rather than living with the knowledge that everyone i know might die anyway."

Xion looked at the person in front of her and felt inspired. All of that for them. She began to cry more and dropped to her knees, Xion was much more immature in this time than she was currently, it was only 100 years after 'Azu' had died had she picked up her current personality, before that her personality was akin to Iona's, which is why they had such a good relationship.

'Azu' turned around and crouched to the crying Xion, he patted her head and smiled at her "How about this? When I- If I die... Take care of the other's okay? You're stronger than most of us and I feel like you'll only grow stronger with time. Become someone who can shake the world with their name alone. After doing that my legacy will be honoured" The smile on his face had grown even brighter. The young Xion rubbed her tears and nodded.

A: "Let's go back to the others."

The two then went back to the camp together, under that starry night sky she had promised she would reach the top of the world in power. When their leader did die and had informed them of the reincarnation, she had taken care of the other's until they had found their own power and left to challenge the higher powers of the world.

This was the promise she kept and this was the promise she would still keep to protect her leader until he had grown to his former power. As she remembered that night under that starry sky a sudden ripple of energy passed by and a sphere of magic essence formed a wide distance around the village. Xion had snapped out of her reminiscent state and looked at the sphere.

X: "Natu? Was that you?"

N: "Yeah, I finally finished"

S: "What is it?"

N: "It's a visual impairing barrier, from the inside of the village they should feel like there is currently a massive storm. The sounds coming from the thunder and rain inside the barrier should stop them from hearing anything whilst the actual thunder and rain should stop them from seeing anything, from their perspective it looks like the storm goes as far as the horizon. They can't hear or see anything outside the barrier. I set the magical essence forming the barrier to block any kind of magic waves too. We can go all out!"

I: "Finally! Thanks"

D: "Iona, let's go!"

S: "Finally! This guy's been provoking me for so long!"

X: "Thanks Natu."

N: "No problem Miss!"

Now that they could safely unleash their full power Xion did not waste any time. "Hey demon... It seems as if you've misunderstood something..." A purple, faint aura started to form around Xion, as more built up the faint purple began to grow extremely bright until the energy around her seemed to be a bright veil of purple light. "What are you doing? My 'Physical Absorption' is enough to survive whatever you have!" The demon was confident as he charged forward. "I may be a physical fighter... but that does not mean I don't have my own tricks... rising through the ranks of the 100 Legends and the 4500 Extremes isn't possible with just physical ability..." The bright violet light around Xion now started to condense into extremely pure energy, this was the highest level of aura. The demon was shocked into what he was seeing and stopped flying forward "It can't be! That level of aura... You've reached 'Aura Manifestation'?!" The purple light was now akin to purple lightning, constantly circulating around Xion's body "Your 'Physical Absorption' may be powerful... but, as you said... I was only able to 'mildly inconvenience' you... the fact that you felt something then whilst I was in my normal state... proves to me that you won't be able to survive this next attack..." As she finished saying this she had disappeared and had already appeared in front of him, she was much faster in this state than her normal state.

The demon was shocked and quickly tried to defend but it was too late, her leg, covered in that purple lightning had already pierced his stomach, as it did a furious bolt of purple lightning came down from the clouds and struck the demon. With a furious movement of her leg she kicked him down to the ground, causing a crater similar to a meteorite. The demon had died and she had dispersed that purple lightning, returning to her normal state. "I will keep my promise, I couldn't care less about anyone who get's in our way - we will bring our leader back." She had scanned the area where her teammates were fighting and found that they had also won their battles. With a blazing resolve in her eyes she flew back to the village.
