132 Calling

"Eris!!" I jump and sit up to see that I'm still inside Ambrose's office but Ambrose and Kian were no longer here. I'm hit with a massive headache that leaves me wanting to curl up into a fetal position. I groan and grab my head as I lean over and slowly release magic into my fingertips.

After my headache starts to fade I look back up and glance around the room with confusion. I was woken up by someone calling me again but just like before, but there's no one here. What the hell is going on?

I stand up and feel the room trying to spin again. Am I still drunk? Dang... how much did I end up drinking? I look back over to see a few empty bottles and cringe. When I hear the door open, I look up to see Kian walking in with a look of relief.

As he shuts the door, he sighs and says "I'm glad you're finally awake. I looked everywhere for Enzo but he's keeping himself hidden. I can't even find the multi demon freak. There's so much evil running wild up here, I can't single them out any longer."

I slowly nod my head as I say "Probably for the best. No one can take Enzo on and the demon freak is probably too strong now as well. It's best to just leave it alone." I walk back over to my chair and plop down as I ask "What's it like out there?"

When Kian doesn't answer, I look up to find him watching me with worry. I sigh and lean back as I say "Let's hear it. Do they have a whole mob for me or something?" This time Kian sighs as he walks over and says "They've ordered your death. Every fraction but the humans. They just want you arrested so they can question you."

I raise my eyebrows and say "Oh, well that's nice of them. At least they want to talk before sentencing me to death." Kian gives me a strained smile as he says "Don't worry about it. Ambrose if making a few arrangements for us to leave."

I slightly frown before asking "Since when were you two all buddy, buddy?" Kian drinks something before saying "Since the vampire and I agreed on you staying out of this and keeping you alive." I narrow my eyes on him before leaning my head back against the chair again.

After a few silent seconds, I softly ask "How long was I out for?" Kian moves something before saying "For the whole night. You should probably rest a while longer." I slowly close my eyes and smirk. I was still drunk... wow. That's a first.

Once again, the smirk quickly disappears. They ordered my death huh... that means there's a kill order on my head and any supernatural that sees me can kill me. They wasted little to no time on that one. I guess this is what happens when you don't have a coven or pack to protect you... I slowly open my eyes and stare up at the ceiling once again.

Takes talent to survive huh... I quickly lean forward and grab a new bottle. I crack it open and begin chugging it before slamming it back down onto the table and saying "Screw it. I guess I have no talent." Kian frowns at me in confusion but when I stand up, he starts to panic.

He quickly stands up and says "Wait wait wait, what are you doing?" I start walking to the door as I say "Apparently, I'm going to my death." Kian quickly puts himself in front of the door and says "Okay, I've stood by your side an allowed you to do a lot of crazy shit but this... this is different. I can't just stand back and watch you go to your death or something far worse. I can't and I won't."

I gently lift my hand up to his face and softly say "This is not something you can allow me to do. This is something I HAVE to do. Even if we were to run and the whole world goes to hell... there would be no place for us to go. Even if by some miracle we find a place, I would spend the rest of my days knowing that I was a coward and I let everyone die without even trying to save them. I would rather die than live with that..."

His eyes hold a thousand words and a thousand pleas but he only whispers "Eris..." I lean forward and gently press my lips against his as I say "I love you" When he closes his eyes, a single tear falls as he says "I love you"

He leans down and presses his forehead against mine as I call Binx in my head. "Summon Kian and keep him in the house, no matter what," I say to Binx as Kian wraps his arms around me. Binx sighs as he says "This isn't going to end well... I can feel it."

I feel Kian's arms tighten around me as he says "I'm sorry but I can't let you die." He was planning to stop me... and if it weren't for Binx, he probably would have been able to. When I don't fight or say anything, he leans back to look down at me.

When his eyes meet mine, he realizes he forgot something. Panic and fear immediately flash across his handsome face before he says "Eris, no!!" He tries to tighten his arms around me but he quickly disappears with nothing left behind but a lingering black mist.

Binx yells and says "I just thought he was pissed the last time! He really does look like a demon now! Dammit, woman... I always have to do the dirty work!" I smile sadly as I open the door and walk out. As I walk down the stairs, I tell Binx "If he tries to help, Enzo will kill him or use him to make me surrender. He's safer there. Don't worry, I don't plan on dying."
