137 Death

I can see Enzo saying something to Kian and Kian trying to kill Enzo but I can't hear anything. When I see Enzo grab Kian through the bars, my eyes begin to tear. Enzo takes the very rib he stabbed me with and plunges it into Kian's heart!

Kian yells out and thrashes but he's still no match for Enzo's strength. I silently cry as those I love continue to die around me. Suddenly, something strange happens. Kian's okay... he reaches up and touches his heart only to realize he's completely healed.

Thank goodness... at least he's okay. Kian looks up at Enzo in horror before looking back over to me with devastation written all over his face. Enzo throws his head back in laughter and throws a blade into the cage.

Kian reaches out and grabs the blade with shaky hands before looking back over to me. Everything is becoming darker for me but I can't take my eyes off Kian. What happened... what's wrong? Kian lifts the blade and cuts his throat!

I try to move or cry out but nothing happens... he reaches up and wipes at the blood but the cut is no longer there. It finally clicks... Enzo really is an evil bastard. He made Kian immortal so no matter what... he won't be able to die with me.

He'll be able to keep Kian locked in the cage for eternity... and watch him suffer.

I feel my eyes growing heavier as I see Kian crawl over to the edge of the cage. He's yelling something at me but I can't hear him, I can't hear anything. I can't feel anything again... it's just all disappearing. I keep my eyes locked onto Kian's face.

It's twisted in pain, sorrow, and regret but his eyes still hold his love for me. Before I realize it, everything becomes dark. To be honest, I never really expected death to be this peaceful. I always that it would be terrifying and all-consuming but this just feels like I'm finally getting to rest for the first time in a long time.

I can even pretend that I'm on the comfiest bed with Kian and Binx. My mother is no longer dead and everything is right in the world. My mother... Her soul! Her soul is still trapped! I feel my finger twitch as my heart struggles to start again.

No, I can't die like this... not yet. I have to set my mother's soul free and kill this bastard! I try to force my eyes open again but they won't listen. Please... I can't die yet! Something warm, almost painfully warm starts racing through my veins.

It hurts! Gods... this was more painful than being stabbed in the heart with a cursed rib! It feels like acid is running through my veins, burning and searing everything it touches but when it reaches my heart, I feel like I'm dying all over again.

I want to scream out but there's no air in my lungs... dying will do that to a person! I want to claw whatever this is out of my body but the most I can do is clench my fists! My body still doesn't want to listen but the more I struggle, the more I start to move.

I finally manage to move my head as I start to twist in pain. Suddenly, I open my eyes to see a large lightning bolt come down and strike me as I suck in! Sweet warmth washes over me as my heart suddenly starts beating again.

I suck in another breath of air as I blink to clear my eyes. Holyshit... that sucked... I take another deep breath and slowly push myself up. I sit up and reach up with a shaky hand to my chest. No hole... nothing.

When I hear "Is she a zombie!?" I turn to find several police officers standing around me. I blink in confusion and look around. Where's Enzo? Where's Kian!? Suddenly, I hear a familiar voice "Hallows!!" I look over to see Harris running over with tears running down his face.

It's raining so hard, I'm practically floating as Harris nearly knocks me over. He squeezes me tight and says "I thought I lost you! Shit! You were dead, dead!" Suddenly, a tiny roar next to me is heard before it turns monstrous!

I look over to see Binx looking around in confusion. The humans all stumble back, a few lifting weapons at him as I say "Welcome back old friend." He looks over to me then back around us before shrinking back into his cat form and saying "Bloody hell..."

I look back to Harris and asks "Where are Kian and the demon?" Harris gives me a strained look and says "They left a few hours ago but I don't know where they are." Hours!? I feel like I just closed my eyes for a few moments!

Suddenly, we all hear something above us. When we all look up, we can't see anything between the dark and all the rain but when the sky lights up with lightning, a large figure with equally large wings can be seen.

Yells and curses can be heard before a large Dragon lands right over me!! Binx puffs out and hisses as he says "Watch it! You overgrown lizard!" I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous as the Dragon puffs out a little fireball at Binx.

Binx yells and shock fills me when I see the end of his tail smoking before he takes on his familiar form. Even in this form, he's still not as big as the Dragon. Harris practically rolls backwards to get away and stares up at the thing with an open mouth.

The Dragon turns and looks down at me before asking "Are you ready?" I stand up and lift my hand out to touch his cool, soft underside as I smile and say "Are you?" The Dragon's red-golden eyes drink me in as he says "Let's go."

He scoops me up and flaps his mighty wings, causing those closest to us to fall and tumble away. I hear Harris yell "Go get em!!" Making me smile as we fly higher and higher. When lightning strikes close by, I flinch.

The mighty Dragon chuckles and says "Fear not child, you've been blessed by the heavens. Storms will bow to you." I don't know what that really means but I'm grateful. I'm coming, Kian!
