146 Why?

I try to summon my magic to snap the chain but just like Enzo said, nothing happens. I can feel my magic but it won't come to me! Why? I grit my teeth in anger as I look back up to Enzo and say "Very good, you always did like having tricks up your sleeves."

He gives me a patient smile as he says "Yes, I have this and many more backups... you know, just in case." I sigh and look back over to my brother and father. The two recently discovered family members I didn't know I had until just a few weeks ago.

My brother strains to break the cage but it looks similar to the one that held Kian before so I doubt he'll break it. When I look to my father, he gives me a sad smile and shakes his head. Telling me not to make the deal.

Everyone knows you don't make deals with demons but here I was... about to do just that. I look back to Enzo and say "I'll agree if... you return them both to the land of the living and with my mother. Safely. After I give you my blood, you let me go as well." I have a feeling I'm going to regret this...

Enzo's smile grows again as he says "You have my word, love." Both my brother and father scream "No!!" As Enzo opens up something that looks like my portal before releasing them from their cages and kicking them through.

I see a glimpse of my mother's shocked face before the portal closes. As long as they stay in the house, they'll be safe. I've redone all the protection wards around the house in my new super blood. Nothing's getting in there without permission.

As long as they're safe, I can focus on the bastard in front of me without worry. He twirls the liquid in the cup before looking back over to me with a thoughtful expression. Even though he's dead, he's still powerful.

Someone as strong and powerful as him just doesn't go 'poof'. I was hoping the lightning bolt would have killed his spirit too, annihilated it on impact but unfortunately... he's still around and still kicking.

I take a deep breath and say "You want my blood, fine. Take it. Give me a knife and I will pour it into your fancy little cup." Enzo chuckles as he says "My my, so eager to share your blood with little old me. I feel honored. You should know though, after this... you have nothing to fear."

He steps closer to me and says "I no longer have the intention of killing the humans or any of the other innocent little creatures you love so much." I narrow my eyes at him in suspicion as he steps right in front of me and says "And this cup? This is for you."

I frown and look to the cup before looking back to him and saying "Uh... I'm good... not thirsty or anything. Unchain me so that I can get you the blood." Enzo slowly reaches out with his free hand and gently grabs my chin.

I pull away from him as much as I can as my worry and fear start creeping up my spine. I narrow my eyes at him and say "Enzooo... what the hell is this? You said if I gave you my blood, you'd set them and me free."

He places the wine cup down on the table before moving back to face me as he says "Of course, my love. I just never said how I would take your blood or when I'd set you free." I jerk, trying to rip the chains off as I say "Don't be the asshole again Enzo! Didn't you just say you were going to stop!?"

The chains rattle but they don't budge or give as Enzo steps up closer and leans down saying "I said I wouldn't hurt those pathetic little creatures you care so much about... I never said anything about not hurting you. But don't worry, I have no plans to kill you and once I'm done taking what I need, I will let you go as we agreed."

I grit my teeth in anger and glare at Enzo as I say "I swear to the heavens that I will KILL you if you don't release me! Right now!" He shushes me and says "I will try and make it as less painful as possible..."

He takes a handful of my hair from behind and pulls my head to the side before leaning down and biting me!! I suck in and try to pull away but he holds on tight as he drinks from me like a damn Vampire!!

Intense pain brings me to my knees as I cry out in shock. He lets me fall and follows me down, deeply drinking from me but every time he takes a large pull, I feel my world spin from the pain! I feel my hands growing cold as he continues to drink but the pain only continued to grow.

As he drinks, I can feel him growing stronger by the second. When I start to lose the ability to fight, He loosens his grip on my hair. I struggle to keep my eyes open as I start to feel weightless. He's going to kill me...

Suddenly, he stops and pulls back! His teeth are long and sharp but they look nothing like a Vampire's! He wipes the white blood off his lips before walking back over to the table and grabbing the cup.

I struggle to breathe and keep my eyes open as he tilts my head back and says "Drink" I don't want to, even on my deathbed, I try to turn my head but he refuses to allow it. He grabs my jaw and forces my mouth open!

He pours the liquid in my mouth but I have no idea what it is. I can't taste, or smell it... I cry to cough it up and spit it out but he clamps his hand over my mouth, effectively blocking the liquid in my mouth before looking down at me and saying "Sallow Eris and then we can both get out of here sooner."

As I stare up at him from on my knees, I glare at him with anger and promises of death but he only smiles and says "Always a fighter." before covering my nose with his other hand! No! I try to pull back with everything I have but it's no more than a slight tug to him.

I can't breathe! My heart beats painfully against my rib cage, demanding air but as my world starts to darken, my throat relaxes. As soon as he feels me swallow, he releases me. I lean forward and pass out.
