156 Laying Traps

After reinforcing the house with Binx's help, I walk back to the living room to see Kian and Enzo waiting. I nod at them both and ask "Are you two ready?" Kian slightly nods as Enzo rubs his hands together in excitement. 

I toss Enzo chalk and say "Make the summoning circle." Enzo catches the chalk with a frown as he says "Wait, I thought you were going to give me your blood?" I give him a look and say "Do you really think I'm gonna fall for that twice? Draw the circle and I'll drop some blood on it. That's all that's needed." 

Enzo looks like he's swallowed something sour as he throws the chalk away and lifts his hand. A summoning circle is burnt into my floor with Enzo's power, instantly earning a glare from me. I sigh and step forward as I say "You just have to be an ass..." 

I cut my palm and lift my hand over the circle. The second my blood touches the circle, it starts to glow red! I use my magic to heal my hand as I take a step back and pull out my twin enchanted blades.

Binx shifts into his familiar form and waits behind me as the air in the house begins to violently whip around. Something large and black comes flying out of the summoning circle making all of us step back to avoid getting hit.

The demon hits my ceiling, nearly going through it before turning to scream at us in anger! The several high-pitched screeches have my skin crawling as Kian attacks first. The two collide and hit the wall before the demon throws Kian across the living room.

As Kian flies past Enzo and I, Enzo looks back to me and says "Don't look at me. I just agreed to bring it here." I roll my eyes and attack the large demon. I sink one of my blades into it, causing it to scream again as Binx tears into it's back. 

I grit my teeth and use my magic to push the blade further down. Black blood oozes from the wound, covering my entire hand and arm but the second it touches Binx, he jerks back and recoils with pain. My attention slips and the demon takes advantage of it. 

He throws me off and as I go flying through the air, Kian quickly appears and catches me but when the black blood touches him, he jerks back and hisses out in pain. The demon tries to plow through the wall and make a run for it but the magical wards hold.

It claws at the walls before turning around and attacking Enzo. Enzo curses and tries to dodge but the demon is faster. It hits Enzo so hard, they both go through the wall and tumble straight into the kitchen. I turn to Kian in worry and see his skin quickly healing.

"Are you okay?" I ask trying to see more of his arm but he quickly shakes me off and says "I'm fine. Does it not hurt you?" I shake my head no but when I hear glass breaking, I curse and take off to the kitchen. 

I grit my teeth in anger and throw a powerful blast of raw magic into it! When the blast hits its back, it screeches and throws Enzo like a ragdoll before charging at me like an angry bull. I try to quickly create another blast but the demon is extremely fast! 

He hits me so hard, I go flying through the large windows in my kitchen and roll to a stop in the backyard. The demon quickly escapes through the open window and disappears as I try to pull the large piece of glass that was currently sticking out of my chest. 

Kian quickly appears by my side and tries to help but I quickly shake my head. I grit my teeth and rip the glass out in one pull causing me to gasp. Blood pours from the wound before I quickly use my magic to heal it. 

Kian looks me over with concern as he asks "How could it escape? I thought the whole house was warded." I glare at the broken window and say "The bastard threw my ass through the barrier, effectively breaking it." 

Binx appears beside me as he says "He used your ass to break the barrier after tearing up the entire house. It seems a lot stronger than the last time we fought it." I nod in agreement but when I go to say something, I cough up blood. 

Confusion eats away at me before Kian says "Enzo's dying..." I growl in annoyance as Kian scoops me up and quickly carries me back to the house. He walks over to Enzo's twisted body before saying "Can you sprinkle him with your blood or something?" 

I chuckle at the mental image and say "Put me down." As soon as my feet touch the ground, I step over to him and kneel down next to him. I use a large cut on my arm and just let the blood drip into his mouth. 

After a few quiet moments, Enzo starts to stir. Kian quickly pulls me back and walks me to the only chair left standing in the house. Enzo groans and says "Bloody hell... that was your genius plan!?" I glare at the idiot as I say "Obviously not. It's way stronger than it was before and the way it always wants to run away makes it harder to kill."

Enzo slowly pushes himself up and curses under his breath as Kian brings me a glass of water. Enzo glares at Kian and asks "Where the hell is mine!?" Kian ignores him as he kneels before me and starts checking my wounds but they were already healing. 

This just got harder...
