Chapter 4：Warm and Happy

"....i....dese... rve....to.....die..."

"Did it just whisper something?!" Kuroki thought to herself, somewhat shaking.

Chapter 4

"What the f*ck?!" Eve screamed in shock.

"It f*cking said something!" Ian yelled.

"We have to leave. Now!" Kuroki screamed.

"There's more of those things coming!" Eve pointed out.

"Sh*t." Ian stated as he got Kuroki's hand and started running with her, Eve following them.

"Where do you think you're going?!" Someone or something yelled running behind the trio, attracting more of those....unidentifed creatures. Kuroki looked behind her. Fear and horror appeared on her face, as she witnessed a creature's claws extend and cut Eve's hand off.

"AGGHHHHH!!" Eve yelled, she collapsed onto the hard, cold, and colorless ground as the pain was too agonizing for her to bare and cope with.

Kuroki watched as Eve was quickly losing blood.

"We-w-we have to help her!" Kuroki snapped as she ran towards Eve, running as fast as her legs could take her.

"Dammit." Ian hissed.

"Here. I'll carry Eve. You shoot the creatures." He said

as he got a hold of Eve. Kuroki nodded in agreement.

BANG BANG

Kuroki shot every creature. Each one collapsing, one after the other. Kuroki was filled with anger. She recalled what Eve looked like...on the floor....she looked so...miserable...The more she thought about it, the angrier she got.

"Over here!" Someone yelled.

Ian and Kuroki looked at who was screaming. It looked like a woman. She was pretty tall. As she waved her hands to get the duo's attention, one of the creature's tore Kuroki's shirt off, leaving her in her white tank top. She shot the creature in the head, right before it bit her arm. She ran towards the woman who was hollering at them earlier.

As Kuroki entered the house she remembered that a creature had ripped her shirt off, in an attempt to bite her. She became somewhat flustered, covering her chest as she crossed her arms. Kuroki was never any of those girls who wore flashy clothing, let alone girly clothes. She always stook to baggy clothes. The situation made her uncomfortable. After a few seconds, she turned her attention back to Eve, who Ian carried and put on a small dimmed blue colored couch.

"Hey. Thanks for helping us back there. We would have been f*cked." Ian said as he looked at the woman who was examining Eve.

"Anytime." The woman said looking up at Ian with a smile on her face.

"Yet again...another kind person..." Kuroki thought to herself. She smiled as she felt a small rush of dopamine run through her body, for only a few seconds, making her feel warm, and happy.

"I'm Selene." The woman said as she stretched out her hand. Kuroki and Ian shaked it, one by one. Selene had long, black hair, like Kuroki, but she had emerald green eyes. She was a beautiful and kind person. Kuroki could tell. She felt happy. Something she hadn't felt. Ever. Kuroki's life wasn't the best. But she actually smiled. She was feeling so very happy, and warm. It made her stress levels go down. She didn't really feel worried about those creatures anymore.

"Fregones." Selene stated out of nowhere.

"Pardon?" Kuroki asked, not hearing Slene's words.

"The creature's that have emerged from their graves. And are now hunting, killing, and turning people. These intelligent, yet dead, beings....are called fregones." Selene said, in a rather serious voice.

"How do you know?" Ian asked.

"I've....read about them....they're intelligent, dead people. Like zombies. But they're smart. And there are things that they can do that no mortal being can." Selene said.

"Like...stretching their arms or claws?" Kuroki asked, now with a concerned expression on her face.

"Yes. Exactly...like that..."
