156 Who saved you?

Taking deep breaths old man Shi calmed himself down while scolding himself in his heart for overthinking, 'It is all because of Xiaofeng, she is the one who made me overthink. It is not possible. She is thinking wrong and what I am thinking right now is also wrong'

Old man Shi consoled himself that he was completely wrong and there was no way that what he was thinking would be true. After spending some time calming down and consoling his rapidly beating heart he asked another question with the hope of getting a negative answer so he can happily dismiss his thoughts, "Qing Shan...when...when you were attacked, ammm, who saved you?"

Before Qing Shan could answer he added another question with an awkward smile which was a clear indication about his weird behavior, "You would have escaped by yourself right? It won't be that Zhi Ruo saved you. Tell me, I am right, right?" As soon as old man Shi asked this question he nervously started fidgeting with his hands while his eyes were expecting an answer from Qing Shan.

Qing Shan who was still unaware of the reason he had to answer this question had already noticed the old man's odd behavior. Trying to sound gentle as possible he answered, "It was Zhi Ruo who saved me."

*crack*bang*Crick*

As soon as Qing Shan's answered the glass of water from old man Shi's hand slipped. Falling on the ground the glass broke while its shards flew all the way on the old man's legs.

Worried Qing Shan wanted to help him get up and move away from the place, but was stopped instead.

Looking at Qing Shan who was standing beside him to help him, with blurred vision, the old man held his hand and asked while trying to breathe calmly, "Qing Shan, can you do me a favor?"

Qing Shan who was watching old man Shi's abnormal behavior quickly accepted. Getting up from the couch old man started walking towards the basement while Qing Shan followed him.

Reaching an isolated, dark, and damp place in the basement, old man Shi stopped. Pointing towards a specific direction the old man spoke, "Qing Shan, there is a stick. Can you please get it for me?"

Qing Shan who was unable to see in the dark looked at the position old man Shi was pointing. Nodding to his request he walked ahead.

Old man Shi had his eyes fixed on Qing Shan's figure, while his heart was hoping for him to get the stick but his brain had an ominous hunch that he would not be able to.

Qing Shan was completely unable to link anything with all the weird things he was been asked and even with this favor. He constantly was thinking about how old man Shi was acting weird since he started talking to him. If he would have not known the old man personally he would surely have not answered his weird questions. Walking towards the place, Qing Shan had already reached the end. Facing the damp algae-filled wall he tried to look around for the stick old man asked him to get. Not finding it he turned back to look at the old man and shouted, "Chief, there is nothing over here."
