For Qing Shan, he was already standing in front of the wall, while for old man Shi his worst thoughts had come out to be true. For old man Shi, Qing Shan was not even halfway through the room, the place where he was standing was just the first mark. There were even more marks he should have crossed as being Zhi Ruo's husband.
When Qing Shan turned around and informed him that there was nothing he could see the old man took a few steps back and gestured him to come back.
Qing Shan had followed the old man and came back running towards him. This time Qing Shan noticed that the old man was looking much worse than before he went towards the room. Looking at the old man Qing Shan supported him asking, "Chief, are you fine? Shall I call the doctor?"
Shaking his head old man asked him to leave him in the garden alone for a while.
Qing Shan helped Old man Shi to adjust comfortably on the reclining chair in the garden and even poured some water for him before he went inside the house to check on Zhi Ruo.
Old woman Shi was talking with Zhi Ruo while Zhi Ruo was laughing happily. Her happiness was evident even before Qing Shan saw her.
Zhi Ruo's smile was like a beautiful waterfall, smooth, mellow, it was so infectious that even Qing Shan 's lips curled up.
Zhi Ruo tries her best to show herself as an indifferent, emotionless, and a brave person. But, Qing Shan knows, deep down in her heart she has a fragile heart, which carers for everyone around her.
Clearing his throat to make his presence known, Qing Shan entered the room, "It seems my wife is happy."
Caressing Zhi Ruo's hand old lady Shi answered while raising some woolen clothes, "Ruo'er has always loved watching me knit these clothes."
Sitting beside Zhi Ruo, he asked while looking at her with eyes full of deep affection, "Do you like knitting?"
Zhi Ruo whose lips were stretched into a beautiful smile looked at Qing Shan and nodded shyly before saying, "I love it, but...I don't know how to knit."
Zhi Ruo was embarrassed to admit that she was unable to learn something while she had always made sure of knowing and learning everything that she liked or had ever fancied to except knitting.
Running his fingers through Zhi Ruo's messy hairs, Qing Shan spoke subtly, "Its ok, I know how to do it. I can teach you."
A trace of surprise flashed in Zhi Ruo's eyes while she asked, "How do you know?"
"My mother loves knitting. During vacations, I used to spend time with her while helping her to knit some clothes," answered Qing Shan.
Old lady Shi decided to give some space to the couple. Getting up she left on the pretext of preparing something for lunch.
Caressing Zhi Ruo's face Qing Shan said with a somber tone, "You should have not done that..."
It did not take long for Zhi Ruo to understand what Qing Shan was talking about. Even Zhi Ruo was questioning herself about her actions. If wanted, instead of standing below those bricks she could have pushed Qing Shan to the side while herself escaped. In this way, the injury to her the body would have been negligible.
It was also a fact that the moment she realized what was going to happen, there was only one thought in her mind. It was to protect Qing Shan regardless of anything else.
