Chapter 29 - Old Flame

Her limbs were weak and she couldn’t even stand properly. Her consciousness faded away. Before she collapsed, Jiang Niansheng understood that Xia Caiwei was behind this! There was something in that cup of coffee!

A smile of triumph flashed across Xia Caiwei’s face as Jiang Niansheng’s limp body fall to the ground.

Qiao Jingze was at his company when he received a call. The caller Id was Ah Sheng. He was confused. Why would she be calling him?

Without hesitation, Qiao Jingze answered it, “Hello, Ah Sheng, are you looking for me?”

“Hello.” An unfamiliar voice said, “This is an attendant from Hotel A. Is it convenient for sir to come over?”

“Hotel?”

“Yes, the owner of this phone is unconscious. We need someone to take care of her.”

Qiao Jingze did not suspect anything and replied, “Okay, I’ll come over right away.”

He immediately picked up the car keys and headed straight to Hotel A.

Qiao Jingze followed the address and room number sent to him. He knocked on the door and realized it was not locked. With a light push, it opened.

Qiao Jingze walked in. “Ah Sheng? Ah Sheng?”

When he saw Jiang Niansheng on the big bed, Qiao Jingze stopped in his tracks and gulped unconsciously.

Jiang Niansheng was lying on the bed. Several buttons of her clothes were unbuttoned. It revealed her bra straps and her fair skin. Her slender legs were smooth and inviting. 

Qiao Jingze walked over and lifted the blanket to cover up the woman. “Ah Sheng, can you hear me? What’s wrong? Wake up.”

Jiang Niansheng didn’t give him any reaction.

Qiao Jingze looked at her with infatuation. It had been a long time since he could be so close to her. It felt like they had been transported back to the days when they were still young sweethearts.

The room was stuffy. The woman he loved was vulnerable. Qiao Jingze felt thirsty. He noticed a water bottle on the near table. He grabbed it and took a big gulp. He just finished the bottle when Jiang Niansheng’s eyelashes trembled slightly and she opened her eyes.

She sat up and pressed her fingertips on her temples. “My head feels so dizzy… Where am I?”

“Ah Sheng,” Qiao Jingze asked nervously, “How are you feeling?”

Upon hearing his voice, Jiang Niansheng paused and whipped her head around. “Why are you here?”

“I. . .”

“Shit!” She exclaimed, “We’ve been set up!”

Qiao Jingze was confused. He had no idea what she was talking about.

“Ah Sheng, you don’t look so well. You should rest.” He sat beside the bed. “I won’t disturb you.”

However, as Qiao Jingze looked at Jiang Niansheng, an evil fire ignited in his body. The fire burned more vigorously and he found it hard to restrain himself.

Jiang Niansheng wanted to get off the bed, but she did not have the strength to stand up. As soon as her feet touched the ground, she fell limply to the ground.

“Ah Sheng!” Qiao Jingze ran to grab her.

Jiang Niansheng leaned weakly in his arms.

“Go, leave this place!” Jiang Niansheng breathed. “Qiao Jingze, leave now!”

‘This has to be Xia Caiwei’s doing! I didn’t expect her to make her move so soon.’

“Ah Sheng, what are you talking about? I can’t possibly leave you here alone!”

“I told you to leave or else it’s over for both of us!”

Qiao Jingze hugged her instead. “But I want to stay. Ah Sheng, I’ve missed you once, I won’t miss you again. I will always stay by your side.”

If Jiang Niansheng had the strength, she would haul the man out herself.

“Why are you here?” She asked. “Who called you?”

“A hotel attendant. Ah Sheng, you still have my number as your speed dial?”

Jiang Niansheng gnashed his teeth. “I merely forgot to change it!”

‘Xia Caiwei is so clever. Everything is calculate. She drugged me and then pretended to be a hotel attendant to trick Qiao Jingze over.’

If Jiang Niansheng was seen with Qiao Jingze walking out of the hotel room together, she wouldn’t be able to explain herself.

Out of the corner of her eyes, Jiang Niansheng saw a half-empty bottle of water. She gasped, “You drank the water?”

“Yes, I was thirsty…” Qiao Jingze answered, “Is there a problem?”

Jiang Niansheng shoved him back. She fell onto the bed weakly, “You need to leave now!”

At that moment, the way Qiao Jingze looked at her changed. “Ah Sheng, you’re so beautiful.” The drug had started to take effect. He looked at Jiang Niansheng and the fire of lust burned within him!

Jiang Niansheng panicked. “Qiao Jingze, don’t come any closer!”

When Jiang Niansheng stopped resisting, Qiao Jingze got the chance and immediately tore at her clothes.

Sheng Hanye grabbed Qiao Jingze from the bed and flung him to the side. Then, he took off his suit jacket and threw it directly on Jiang Niansheng’s face.

“Put it on!”

‘Only I can see her like this, but Qiao Jingze almost…’ Sheng Hanye was furious. He turned around and punched Qiao Jingze.

Even though Jiang Niansheng had no feelings for Qiao Jingze, the latter was also a victim in this case. So she shouted, “Sheng Hanye, stop!”
