Chapter 49

TL-Mechatronic

When Nina called upon the person, he quickly pulled out of the railing and looked back at her.

“Well, Ahem, I’m here to deliver a message.”

Nina’s eyebrows went up sharply. She quickly recognized who this man was.

“The shadows.” “Yes, that’s what they call us.”

While smiling with a hehe sound, the man made a groveling movement.

“Are you provoking me just now?”

“No, I’ve been working so hard on this side here, but I stopped because you looked so sweet.’

“In what way is that exactly sweet? More than that…..”

Nina swung the dagger without warning or any preparatory action.

The man who reflexively avoided made a bitter smile and pressed his cheek with his hand. Blood flowed from the shallow cut.

“If I had judged you to be an enemy, you would have died by now.”

“I thought you’d understand that there’s no point in killing me.”

“That and this are separate. So why are you here?”

Nina’s question meant for the shadow to introduce himself.

She already sensed several signs of people wandering in and out of the castle but ignored them. It was because she realized that it was Adrian’s shadows.

She thought they would pretend not to know each other’s existence until the end, but what’s the point of showing up now?

“I feel like I have to be introduced.”

The man grinned.

“Let’s talk inside.”

Before she knew it, Adrian was already near the balcony to call them inside, all dressed up.

The man stepped inside without hesitation. He looked around the room and observed the new things one by one.

“Why are you here?”

Adrian asked, and the man stretched his shoulders and smiled.

“The captain is dead.”

“Why?”

“There must be a monster inside the temple.”

The man’s smile grew deeper. Adrian said, “I see.” And tapped the table with his fingers.

“I am still here.”

Nina raised her hand.

If it’s a conversation between the Duke and his spy, was it okay for the Knight’s Commander to be included?

The man looked back at her and said, “Well, you do have quite the presence.”

‘Tsk, this person.’

She didn’t laugh at all.

The man has a smile on his face, but somehow, Nina feels like getting annoyed at him. She felt like this man wouldn’t even make a distinction if it wasn’t her.

Nina, who got used to Adrian, was sensitive to the other person’s feelings, so she could notice them quickly.

The man said to Adrian. “Master might not be inclined to do it, but I think this is the best time to get acquainted with the Commander.”

At Adrian’s awkward gaze, Nina covered her eyes with the back of her hand and smiled.

“If you don’t want to show him to me, I’ll pretend I didn’t see him.”

Adrian opened his mouth with a sigh.

“Nina, this is Jack. Jack, you already know her.”

“Nice to meet you.” (Nina)

“A pleasure to make your acquaintance.”

Nina asked him, smiling.

“So you’re the next captain?”

“You have no hesitation. That’s right.”

“I thought you introduced yourself because of this fact.”

“Are you offended?”

“Yes.”

“The reason is…….”

“Because it’s common logic to hit a bad dog who doesn’t listen to its owner.”

He revealed himself without Adrian’s permission, he deserves to be beaten. He needs to be set straight.

“There is no bad dog in the world.”

“Then I’ll say you’re a bad person.”

“I can’t deny that.”

Jack shook his head and glanced at Adrian.

“Will you forgive me, Master?”

“Nina.”

“Can’t I hit him once?”

“You used a knife earlier.”

Jack panicked and said. He was well aware of Nina’s great power. Even if you get hit just once, you will have to stay in bed for at least a few weeks.

“Well, that’s true.”

Nina twirled a dagger in her hand and put it into the sheath on the belt.

She smiled and said.

the

“Then shall we just start over again from beginning?”

Jack rolled his eyes, stealthily went out, and closed the balcony door. Adrian unknowingly let out a slight laugh,

It was funny that Jack was obedient, and it was even more ridiculous that he obeyed to start all over from the beginning.

Nina stood tall and said.

“Hurry up.” “Alright. Then,” Adrian, coughing, looked at Nina seriously. “Nina, I have someone I want to introduce to you.”

“Yes? Who is it?”

“Nina knows that I have spies right? Probably all nobles will have them, but the Duke’s are a bit larger in number. I want to introduce you to their captain.”

“Is there a need to increase the risks?”

Secrets are only valuable when there are fewer that know them. At her words, pondering about the need to increase the number of people who knew this fact and the risk that comes with it, Adrian whispered to her.

“It means they’re useless if Nina doesn’t know them.”

“Adrian really knows what to say to make me happy.”

Nina smiled and bowed her head.

“If that’s what the young master says. I’d be happy to be introduced.”

“Jack, come in.”

“Yes, yes, yes. This is Jack.”

“You don’t mean it. Shall we do it again?”

At Nina’s words, Jack closed the balcony door again and came in solemnly.

“It is an honor to meet you. The pitch-black sword, a ray of light in the dark, the glory of Luverne, sword master Nina la Dell.”

“Oh, I like that introduction.” (whisper)

“I thought you would.” (whisper)

Nina smiled softly, pretending that there was no conversation just now when the two whispered.

“I’m glad to also meet you. Luverne’s shadow, the black bird that drives through the darkness, you with endless awareness.”

Jack laughed and relaxed, after greeting each other, he reported the death of the last Captain in the temple.

Nina recalled the final boss of the temple. If you stab him for no reason, The Duke will be targeted. When she thought about what to advise, Adrian said. “Don’t go deeper, stop everything. Even if there’s anything shady in the temple, you don’t have to dig in, for now.”

At that, Jack bowed his head and stepped back. When the balcony door closed, Nina turned to Adrian.

“Because of the cult of the temple?”

Adrian nodded. The Priest that was sent from the temple blew up the barrier. That was a tremendous scandal, and the Temple tried to cover it up somehow

It would have been nice if the former Duke took a sharper approach, but instead, he tried to use that incident to kill Adrian. Subsequently, because of the epidemic, it became impossible to send a protest.

Eventually, when Adrian calmed down the civil war, things had already fizzled out.

‘Then it means there really is something.’

“It’s okay.” (Nina)

Adrian smiled at Nina’s words. She said cheerfully.

“Because I can win against them.” (Nina)

“No matter who the enemy is.” (Adrian)

Adrian repeated what she said. Nina grinned. He nodded with a soft expression on his face.

“I’m not worried.”

“Then that’s enough.”

Nina hugged Adrian once and said.

“I’ll be on my way.”

“Yes.”

Adrian lightly clasped her pigtails as she turned around, As Nina walked, the hair slipped out of his hand.

Adrian didn’t bother to tell Nina, who went for the balcony to use the door, because Adrian knew she wasn’t going back to her room. He clenched his fist while looking at his hands that still had a smooth silky feeling.

After jumping off the balcony, Nina soon found Jack standing in the garden. “I knew you’d come.”

At Jack’s words, Nina took the ointment out of her arms.

“Apply it on your cheek.”

“Is that all you need to say to me?”

“My deepest condolences.”

To Nina’s serious face, Jack said in a small voice.

“Our deaths happen without anyone knowing. I don’t think there’s a need for mourning, but…..”

“It’s needed for the living.”

In Nina’s words, Jack said, “Do I look like someone in need of mourning?” And asked again. “Whether you need it or not, you deserve it.”

“Then I will.”

“Here you go.”

Nina stuck out a white flower. She took one while she was running. Jack opened his eyes wide and lamented when he received the unexpected flower.

“I see why the master couldn’t abandon you.”

About why their master waited for someone who was already dead for two years.

“I didn’t live a laid back and irresponsible life that I can just be thrown away. I am a necessary talent.”

At Nina’s words, Jack grinned and threw the flower into the bush.

“I have received it well.”

“It was nothing.”

Nina implied, “You’re such a nice person to say that you’ll only accept the sentiment,” and asked.

“But what’s your real name?”

Jack politely said, “It crosses the line.” Nina turned her back first, saying, “Excuse me, then.”

It was a one-sided gesture of ‘I put my trust in you’. Jack smiled lightly and disappeared as if he was melting into the shadow.
