Hovering over the scene of the person fighting the Dire Wolves, Jake decided to wait and see if help was needed.
One of the Dire Wolves charged at the person only to be be greeted by the spear. With a twist, the Fiend turned its body, sacrificing a blow to a soft part of its body to try to finish the fight early.
The Fiend opened its jaws wide, ready to bite down on the person's exposed arm that was holding the spear but the spear was released and a sword was pulled out. A flash of blood sprayed in the air as the Dire Wolf's head was severed from its body.
Impressed, Jake was about to leave because it wasn't his business really in the first place but then all of the Fiends attacked.
In a rush, they easily landed multiple scratches on the defender at the cost of another 2 wolves deaths. Tired and heavily wounded, Jake saw that the person had nothing more to give while the wolves were seconds away from finishing the fight.
As the wolves were about to attack, Jake made a decision.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Fuck. Where did these Fiends come from?" Taylor thought as the wolves began to get closer. Exhausted, Taylor knew that Death was here but just as quickly as Death came, Hope came in the form of a blur.
The wolves were flattened into a paste and Taylor could finally collapse knowing that the Hope was there. With the last thought that Taylor was safe, the lights faded and Taylor slipped into a heavy sleep.
Jake picked up the person after killing the weak Dire Wolves and flew back to his cave.
Jake maintained his Clark Kent appearance and looked at the person he saved. With a glance he noticed that even though the armor she is wearing is bulky and tries to hide her womanly figure, Jake still has X-ray vision. (He peeped).
She had to be about the same age as his younger sister but his younger sister was really short (5'1") and had blonde hair unlike how Jake was tall and had brown hair. The girl lying down was about 5'11" with long legs, a nice muscular body that wasn't bulky, and had brown hair.
He then used his X-ray vision to look at her wounds. The most damaging wounds were the ones where one of the wolf's claws had managed to open up her stomach and where another wolf had bitten her shoulder. Knowing that he could do something, he took out one of the weakest healing potions he had and tried to make her drink it but her mouth was sealed shut.
[Health Potion (Basic) - speeds up the bodies natural healing process. Cannot heal wounds that will cause immediate death, grow back limbs, or heal sicknesses.]
Knowing she would probably wake up in a little, he wasn't going to try to force her to drink something she could drink on her own.
After an hour and a half, her eyes began to move around under her eyelids. A second later her eyes snapped open. Ignoring the pain coming from her wounds she sat up, clearly in severe pain but pushing through it.
She looked around the cave and saw "Clark Kent" standing in a corner watching her. Not showing her surprise at seeing him, she was about to say something but Clark stopped her before she could.
"You have multiple wounds all over your body. I admire your ability to even sit up right now but first you need to drink that." He then pointed at the potion next to her, sitting on the ground.
She looked at where he was pointing and seeing the potion, she observed it. The bottle was made of glass and the liquid inside was a dark red like blood and had a cork on the top. Picking up the bottle, she uncorked it and took a sniff of it, keeping it more than 6 inches away from her nose. It smelled like cough medicine and after looking at Jake, she downed the potion in one go.
Jake watched her cautious approach to the potion and silently agreed with her mindset of not completely trusting someone she doesn't know.
After drinking the potion, her face scrunched up and then she passed out. Jake thought to himself, 'That was absolutely anticlimactic' and he grabbed her body that collapsed with her arms askew, and placed her down in a more comfortable position. With that, he went outside and began to roast the meat of a Boar Fiend.
That night, Taylor woke up. Her wounds were healed and to her surprise but when she looked around for the man who saved her, she couldn't find him.
She got up and wandered around the cave until she smelled the boar being roasted.
Following the smell, she saw Jake next to a fire with a well cooked piece of meat in his hand that he had been eating for a while.
Jake turned around, knowing she was there because he could hear her heart rate speed up when she woke up.
She looked at the man who saved her, really observing him. Jake was in his Clark Kent disguise so when she was looking at him, she saw the literal face of Superman.
"What's your name?" she asked.
To Jake, it sounded more like a demand but he just smiled and said, "Clark Kent."
With a weird expression on her face, she was caught completely off guard. How could there be someone who was named Clark Kent, had a body like Superman, and had incredible powers? "No way!" she exclaimed.
Jake scratched his head and grins to her while nodding.
"Well then, 'Clark Kent', I am Taylor Wilson. My ability allows me to read minds and dream walk." she said as she made air quotes when saying his name.
Jake rolled his eyes and asked her if she can read his thoughts. With a shake of her head, she said, " No. You're the first person I can't get a read on. What's your ability?"
Jake just continued eating, not divulging anything to her.
"Fine then. Where are you from?"
"..."
"How old are you?"
"..."
"What are you doing out here?"
"..."
After several attempts to get something out of Jake, she eventually resorted to her ultimate technique.
"Since you saved my life, I owe you so I will go wherever you go. Now tell me about yourself!"
Jake spit out the bite in his mouth as he turned to look at her.
