7 Chapter 121: The presen

The birthday party celebration will be held at 7 o'clock in the evening because the theme for the birthday party was something like a magical ball. At night, everything seems magical.

Only a small number of people were invited to the party because NaNa insisted that she wanted a little celebration consisted of family and a few friends only.

Since the party will start at 7, NaNa asked Yi Fei to sleep over in her place for the night since she knew that it would be unsafe for Yi Fei to drive at night. The happiest person who fully supported the plan would be Wu Chen.

NaNa lived in a big mansion located in a residential area where the rich lives. Wu Chen and his family lived in the same area too.

Early in the morning, Wu Chen went to City B to pick Yi Fei from her house since Yi Fei didn't know the way to NaNa's house. Wu Chen said his greeting to Yi Fei's parents, and he promised that Yi Fei would return the next day safely.

At first, Yi Fei's parents were hesitating when Yi Fei told them that she would have a sleepover at NaNa's place. Yi Fei's parents knew about NaNa, and they saw her a few times while Yi Fei's mother was video calling Yi Fei. But Yi Fei never had been to a sleepover before, not even once. So they kind of worried about that.

After convincing them that she'll be fine, Yi Fei waved everyone goodbye including her cat and dog. Baby was barking excitedly while Hemo Hemo looked as if it couldn't wait until Yi Fei was gone so that it could continue wandering around the neighborhood.

Yi Fei brought with her a maroon duffle bag and a shopping bag with a mysterious box inside. When she entered the car, Wu Chen saw the mysterious box, but he didn't comment anything about it since he knew that Yi Fei would talk about it even though he didn't ask.

"You must be curious about this box right?"True to Wu Chen's expectation, Yi Fei started opening up about the mysterious box she brought along with her.

The box was all black that it made people curious about what's inside the box. It would be impossible to think that the box was a birthday gift to NaNa because who the hell gifted black box for someone's birthday. Out of all the colorful boxes out there, why black? Wu Chen put aside the possibility.

"It's a birthday gift from me to NaNa" Right after Yi Fei told Wu Chen that the black box was a birthday gift, Wu Chen stopped guessing. It would be impossible for him to imagine what's inside the box.

"You must be curious about the gifts I prepare for NaNa right?" Yi Fei was in a good mood, so she felt like telling someone the good things she prepared for NaNa. Wu Chen glanced at Yi Fei."Why black box? Can't you find something more… cheerful? This is a birthday celebration after all".

The car moved along smoothly. Yi Fei had a smile on her face. "Black… just like my heart if someone keeps on questioning my style." Yi Fei gave Wu Chen the side eyes. "The outside is not important. What important is, the things inside."

Wu Chen pinched her cheek. So his girlfriend knew how to get offended if people questioned her style huh?

"So what good things did you get for NaNa?" Today was a beautiful day for Wu Chen since he would be able to spend more time with Yi Fei. Since the school holiday started, Wu Chen was not able to see Yi Fei as often as he could. Of course, both of them video called each other every night, but it was only for a short while.

"NaNa is already a rich lady so getting her all those expensive stuff would be meaningless. But I prepare everything inside with heart full of love for her. So, it is priceless even though I only prepared…" Yi Fei paused.

Wu Chen waited for Yi Fei to continue speaking but when Yi Fei didn't talk, Wu Chen urged her to tell him. "Prepared what?"

"To be continued…" Yi Fei laughed and told Wu Chen that it wouldn't be too sweet if Wu Chen knew about it first compared to the birthday girl. Wu Chen did not press further because he had a hunch that even though Yi Fei told him what's inside the box, he wouldn't be able to understand anything about it.

Wu Chen and Yi Fei reached NaNa's house around 12 in the afternoon. Yi Fei was not surprised when she saw how big NaNa's house was. She already knew how rich NaNa was but to imagine NaNa to live in a freaking mansion was not something that crossed Yi Fei's mind.

NaNa came out of her house to welcome Yi Fei and Wu Chen. NaNa's parents also came out to see their daughter's best friend who was also Wu Chen's girlfriend.

A few moments later, Wu Chen's mother emerged from the living room. All the elders invited Yi Fei to come in. All of them were excited to meet Yi Fei; no one cared about Wu Chen. So, Wu Chen carried the duffle bag and the mysterious box quietly because no one sees him when Yi Fei was around.

The birthday party celebration will be held in the backyard garden of the mansion, and Yi Fei could see that a lot of people were coming in and out of the house. NaNa brought Yi Fei to her room to show off her dress and accessories for the party.

John provided both NaNa and Yi Fei's dresses for the party. Last year, John participated in a local fashion designer competition, and he won several awards. John had a knack for fashion so when he received the invitation to the party, John thought of something. What's a better way to promote his design other than having a wealthy heiress with a fan base to wear his collection, right?

While looking at the dress prepared by John for NaNa, Yi Fei had an idea. "NaNa, do you have Jun Liu's number?" Yi Fei asked out of the blue. Yi Fei told NaNa that it would be great to have another single lady to join them for their sleepover. Since Yi Fei put it fascinatingly, NaNa thought that it would be nice to have someone else with them too.

Yi Fei suggested that they should invite Ying Yue to have a sleepover with them if she could. Yi Fei felt that she was such a smart girl. Other than recruiting someone to be their comrade for the night, she just created an opportunity for NaNa and Jun Liu to interact.

NaNa tried to calm her raging heart upon hearing Jun Liu's name. It would be bad if Yi Fei knew about the kiss or whatever happened between them. NaNa scrolled down her contact list and gave her phone to Yi Fei, indicating that Yi Fei should make the call.

Yi Fei pressed the called button. After a few beeps, Jun Liu was finally picking up the phone, but his voice sounds so restrained when he said 'hello.'

"Hello Mr. Someone-like-you, this is the Straw Hats ship. Press one if you want to talk to NaNami -Sama, press two if…" Before Yi Fei could continue playing by using her phone, NaNa snatched her phone from Yi Fei's hand quickly.

"Hello Ah Jun, don't hang up. Don't hang up. This is not a prank call" NaNa was quiet for a few seconds. Yi Fei had this amused look on her face. She kept on asking the phone back from NaNa, but NaNa didn't entertain her.

"We would like to invite Ying Yue for a sleepover. I mean Yi Fei and me if it's okay with her and her parents and of course if it's okay with you" NaNa did not show any expression, so Yi Fei was getting restless.

"Okay, see both of you later. Wait, don't hang up yet. Yi Fei has something to say to you" NaNa passed her phone to Yi Fei. Yi Fei took a deep breath before speaking.

"NaNa likes flower so she would be delighted if she gets a flower from a handsome man tonight. Okay, thank you, bye." Yi Fei hung up without warning and passed the phone back to NaNa. Before NaNa could say anything about it, NaNa's mother came to ask them to go down for lunch.

Yi Fei nodded, and she stood up and walked away innocently. NaNa observed Yi Fei's back and thought that Yi Fei seemed to be trying to do something, but she couldn't pinpoint what exactly Yi Fei was trying to do.

Meanwhile, in a certain someone was sitting alone in his office. There were a lot of files on his table, and his phone has been ringing a few times since morning. It was evident that he was quite a busy man, but since Miss Cat Ear called him out of the blue, he stopped working for a while.

Amid the white papers and mountain of the file on the table, Jun Liu's eyes fell on a black velvet box on the far side of the right corner of his desk. He recalled what Yi Fei told him over the phone.

Of course, he knew that NaNa liked flower. Jun Liu saw how NaNa put down the bouquet of roses carefully before she ran away from his car after their kiss.

Jun Liu took the black velvet box and opened it to reveal a dozen roses drop heart necklace. When Jun Liu received the invitation to NaNa's birthday party, roses popped into his head.

But of course, Jun Liu won't give single roses to someone especially someone like NaNa. He could do much better than a young otaku who proposed on his knee to ask someone to be his girlfriend.

Jun Liu opened his top drawer, and there was another black velvet box inside, but this one is smaller than the first box. Jun Liu took the smaller box and opened it before he put the boxes next to each other.

Ever since he hung out with Yi Fei and NaNa, Jun Liu felt that he was becoming crazy too. He had twice inner monologue than what he had previously before knowing the duo. Jun Liu also tends to speak to himself due to Yi Fei and NaNa's effect on him.

A rose ring gleamed from inside the box when the light falls on it. Jun Liu remembered the ring verse from the Lord of the Rings.

'One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them.'

Jun Liu took out the ring from the box.

"And you. You rule them all. Tell me what should I do with you?"
