8 Chapter 122: Troublesome Trio 1

At the end of the day, Jun Liu shoved the small black velvet box inside the top drawer and headed out to his home. He called his sister to ask her permission if Ying Yue could sleepover in at the Chong's House.

Jun Liu's sister was delighted because Jun Liu talked about a woman other than his family member and gave her permission to have Ying Yue to sleepover in NaNa's house.

Around 4 in the evening, NaNa and Yi Fei were getting ready. Like teenagers preparing themselves for the prom night, NaNa and Yi Fei were doing their makeup and each other's hair.

Everything was serene before John came to help them with their dresses.

"Hello honey, darling. Let this great man here help you with your dresses" John called Yi Fei as honey and NaNa as darling. Before John came to NaNa's house, NaNa already informed her parents about John and how they should not worry about him being in the same room with her and Yi Fei.

"NaNa darling, is there anyone you want to impress tonight because I need to put this flower on you" John liked flower, and he liked to express himself with a flower.

NaNa shook her head even though Jun Liu popped in her mind when John asked her if she wanted to impress someone. Of course, she couldn't say it out loud.

With an innocent face, Yi Fei asked from NaNa's side. "NaNa, aren't you getting along well with Ah Jun? Don't you want to impress him?"

John who was busy dressing up NaNa looked up with obvious amusement in his eyes. "Ah Jun? Honey, you mean your hubby's best friend Jun Liu?"

When Yi Fei was together with John, she was always twice braver than she was alone. She will be twice playful compared to her regular days. Everything about her will be multiplied and amplified by two. That includes her scheming, her playfulness, her bravery, her trick and her shamelessness.

When Yi Fei was together with Wu Chen, whenever Wu Chen mentioned about their future or marriage, Yi Fei will be flustered red. But when John was around, she could call Wu Chen as her hubby confidently and without shame.

Even though NaNa told them that she doesn't have anyone she wanted to impress for the night, Yi Fei and John kept dolling her up. They told NaNa a lot of weird things like how to appear innocent in front of a guy, or how to catch the attention of a guy just by sitting quietly. NaNa doubted some of it, but there were a few that she wanted to try as well.

Out of the blue, NaNa asked the troublesome duo in front of her. "If a guy teases you, what does it mean?"

"Well, my hubby Chen Chen always teases me. I guess teasing means he is interested in you. Did Ah Jun tease you, NaNa?" Yi Fei was the first one to speak up.

"I don't know to tease. I only know flirting. Now let me put this flower on your right ear. According to the Hawaiian, if you wear a flower behind your right ear, it means that you are single" John tucked the flower behind NaNa's ear.

"Johnny, don't put Hibiscus on her. Put a smaller flower. NaNa is not desperate. Here, a rose is better than Hibiscus" Yi Fei gave a rose to John.John gave her the stink eyes; he was sure that Yi Fei was mocking him for the things happened in City L.

The dress that John prepared for NaNa was a gorgeous dropped-waist red ball gown. It has a strapless sweetheart neckline, and the lace-up corset bodice exposed boning, and it has shimmering hand-sewn AB stones. The long princess skirt was made up of a magnificent rosette. So, wearing a rose behind the ear was something to complement the style of the dress.

For Yi Fei, John prepared a whimsical pink prom dress. Similar to NaNa's clothing, the dress that Yi Fei wore also has a strapless sweetheart neckline with a bodice that is encrusted with a sparkly sequin. The high empire waist thrilled with a thick hot-pink band. The long skirt features hand-painted ombre chiffon that was dark pink along the top and gently fades into a fun pink flower design along the bottom. Yi Fei wore silver jewellery to match the dress.

NaNa had a lot of necklaces in her collection to go with the dress, but Yi Fei insisted that NaNa should not wear any necklace because she was sure that someone would gift her a necklace for the night.

When John and NaNa asked Yi Fei about the person, Yi Fei refused to tell them; she said that it should be a surprise. NaNa's mind drifted to a certain man who was cold and didn't talk much. John didn't like guessing game, so he assumed that Yi Fei was talking about NaNa's parents.

Meanwhile, Yi Fei was talking about someone different. Two days ago, when Yi Fei was in a video call with Wu Chen, Wu Chen mentioned to her that he was looking at necklaces. So Yi Fei assumed that Wu Chen wanted to get something for NaNa.

Half an hour before the birthday celebration started, Ying Yue and Jun Liu arrived at NaNa's house. As the host, NaNa's mother brought Ying Yue to NaNa's room. As for Jun Liu, he went over to talk with Wu Chen after he said his greeting to the Chong and Wu.

Ying Yue wore a yellow dress. As if she was utterly in sync with both NaNa and Yi Fei, her dress also had a strapless sweetheart neckline that was covered in pretty pastel sequins. A fun orange band accentuated the empire waist. The full skirt was made up of fun layers of yellow tulle with some pink accents.

Yi Fei and NaNa were excited and glad that Ying Yue could join them for the sleepover. John was impressed to see another model-like friend of Yi Fei. Everyone was tall except for Yi Fei. John laughed so hard upon seeing how Yi Fei looked like a little kid when she stood next to two beautiful towers.

Yi Fei didn't mind the mocking laugh from John. Instead, she asked John to take pictures of them. "We are the Power Rangers. I am the Pink Ranger, NaNa is the Red Ranger, and Yue Yue is the Yellow Ranger. Okay come on girls" Yi Fei stood in the middle because she was the shortest. She even asked the other two girls to sing "GO GO POWER RANGERS" with her.

NaNa's mother and Wu Chen's mother were curious about the girls and a guy in the room because they sounded very happy inside the room. Wu Chen's mother wanted to join the youngster because she wanted to have fun too but NaNa's mother prohibited her from doing so. NaNa's mother asked her sister-in-law to accompany her in the garden to entertain the guests, so Wu Chen's mother had to forget about her plan to have fun with the youngsters.

NaNa wanted to wear her silver heels, but she forgot where she put her shoes, so she went out of her room to find her mother because her mother always knew where her thing was. The maid told NaNa that her mother was in the garden, so NaNa head out looking so glorious in her dress to the garden to find her mother but she couldn't see her. The only thing lacking from her appearance now was the fact that NaNa was wearing a slipper.

In the garden, there was a dreamy seating area with a white sofa and flowing curtains in the right corner of the yard. The seating area was hidden due to the big canopy in front of it. The canopy was decorated with flowers and a bright decorative light covering most of the area.

There were a lot of guests in the garden and as the birthday girl, NaNa was supposed to show up fashionably late because she was the star of the night. Another thing was, she couldn't let people to see her wearing a dress with a slipper. So, NaNa crept to the seating area without alarming the guests.

She wanted to scan the whole area and guests to find where her mother was. It wasn't that difficult to find her way to the lounge because the way was illuminated by the light from the white canopy.

The lounge was quite darker than the surrounding because the flowing curtains blocked the little light supply from the canopy. NaNa thought that no one would be there because the place was dark. NaNa knew the arrangement of the furniture at the seating place, so she walked confidently and wanted to sit down for a while but then, a voice spoke from the dark. NaNa was so shocked that she wanted to scream, but a hand covered her mouth.

"What are you doing by walking around sneakily like a cat?" It was Jun Liu.

"What are you doing in the dark? You scared me" NaNa was too shocked to be embarrassed with Jun Liu now. If Jun Liu was some random guy, NaNa was sure that she'd kick his groin.

"What are YOU doing in the dark?" Jun Liu asked NaNa the same question. It took a while for NaNa to get her eyes to get used to the darkness. By now, she could see a little bit of Jun Liu, or she could make a few details about Jun Liu in the dark.

NaNa could see that Jun Liu was wearing a dark colour tuxedo. She couldn't identify whether it was black or dark blue because it was dark. Both of them were quiet for a moment. Then NaNa remembered that she was wearing a slipper with her dress. NaNa couldn't let Jun Liu see her in that ugly slipper, so she wanted to run away before Jun Liu noticed that she was wearing a slipper.

Jun Liu grabbed NaNa's hand and handed over a black velvet box to NaNa. "For you. I think it will go well with your dress."

NaNa saw that Jun Liu was scratching his head. A sign of nervousness?

Seeing how Jun Liu was handing her the gift awkwardly, NaNa thought that it would be nice to tease him a little bit. She took the box from him and opened it.

The little light from the canopy near them made the necklace glimmered beautifully. It was a dozen roses drop heart necklace and true to Jun Liu's words, the necklace complemented her dress well.

"This is so beautiful…Put it on me" NaNa turned around and asked Jun Liu to put the necklace on her. NaNa assumed that Jun Liu must be blushing right now. NaNa felt accomplished. She thought that this time, it was her chance to tease him. Jun Liu complied with whatever the birthday girl asked him to do.

NaNa turned around to show Jun Liu the necklace. Even though it was dark, she was sure that Jun Liu could see a little bit of her.

"How do I look?" It was a useless question to be honest. One couldn't see well in the dark so asking how they look in the dark was pretty foolish but NaNa didn't care. She won't let off any chance to tease Jun Liu because teasing is flirting and teasing means someone is interested.

For a smart guy like Jun Liu, of course, he knew the reason why NaNa asked him to put the necklace on her. As he sat in the dark for quite some time, his eyes were used to the darkness and he could see well. The mischievous smile on NaNa's lips was not able to escape his sight even in the dark, but two can play the game. If NaNa wanted to tease him, he could do the same too.

"You look enchanting…like a princess" Jun Liu was telling the truth. He was enunciating each word clearly so that NaNa could hear him.

A trace of happiness radiated from NaNa's eyes when she heard the compliment from the cold guy, Jun Liu.

"Beautiful… even with the slipper."

Ah damn! NaNa forgot about the slipper. How embarrassing.

Without saying anything, NaNa dashed out from the seating place; she didn't even bother looking back into the darkness.
