"Lilith, do a full scan of the village. I want to know every corner of the territory, any place a killer can infiltrate, don't leave anything unchecked." Theo ordered as he removed his clothes. The only thing he was wearing after taking off his clothes were white gloves.
"Oh, I forgot to ask the lady if I could wear the gloves to school. It would be a big problem if I couldn't."
The scene in which he had carried Xiao Yanyan to prevent her from falling to the ground passed through Theo's mind. He looked back at his gloves, clenching his fists tightly. It would have been a great disaster if he hadn't worn them.
"Master, I'm done scanning the area. I'll show you the map in the screen." Lilith informed Theo.
Theo approached the computer screen, where an image of the design of the village of Xiao Yanyan and its surroundings was shown. There were two places marked with a red circle. These were the places that Lilith had marked as dangerous or easy to infiltrate.
Theo trusted Lilith. If she said those two places were the dangerous ones, then it was those two. There was no way she could be wrong, it was impossible.
"I have to make a call," Theo told Lilith.
He sat in a chair in front of his laptop and opened the Skype application. He clicked on an icon and called that person. The man's profile picture appeared in the center of the laptop screen, showing the face of an oriental man in his thirties.
The characteristic Skype ringing sound rang in Theo's room. He waited patiently for this person to answer his call, he knew that his call was going to be answered.
Inside a secret military barracks, Beijing, high military command was gathering. Currently, they were having a critical meeting. It was so important that even the three great generals of land, sea, and air had attended the meeting.
The land general, Han Xin; the air general, Yue Fei; and the admiral, Ding Wuwang. These were the three most influential people in the army. They were giants, their exploits in the war were countless, they were the pride of the nation. Of these three, which one could not cover the sky with one hand without using the other?
But now, these three were sitting respectfully next to a middle-aged man. A young man in his thirties was seated next to him. The aura of these two people was calm, they gave an unexplainable sensation of serenity. But everyone present at the meeting knew that these two people were not so simple.
The middle-aged man was talking about various subjects when a peculiar sound interrupted him. The man frowned and looked at the man sitting next to him.
"Military advisor Zhou, why is your cell phone on?" The man spoke calmly, with no apparent negative feeling, but Zhou Wenwang knew that this man was furious. What bothered this person the most was to be interrupted.
"Captain Yang, my cell phone is silent. This is not a normal call, but a Skype call..." Wenwang tried to explain herself, but decided to keep quiet when he saw the look in Yang Ye's eyes. "I'm going to hang up..."
Zhou Wenwang was going to hang up the call when he saw who the person calling was. His pupils shrugged, and he looked at Yang Ye with a bitter smile. "Captain Ye, I have to take it."
Zhou Wenwang expected the captain to deny the request. They were in the middle of a meeting involving the future of the nation, the military advisor leaving the meeting at which the country's high command was present was not too good. He wouldn't do this either if it weren't for that person calling.
Yang Ye understood Zhou Wenwang's personality quite well. They had been working together for four years, and he knew that Zhou was not going to leave the meeting without a good reason.
"All right, end the call quickly." Yang Ye waved his hand as if he didn't care at all.
"Thank you, Captain Yang!" Zhou Wenwang thanked Yang Ye and left the room. He made sure no one was listening before taking the call.
This call was not typical. Although Skype also lets you make voice calls, the most common was making video calls. Upon accepting the call, Zhou Wenwang saw the face he hadn't seen for four years. Although he was no longer a childish and immature face, Zhou Wenwang recognized him instantly.
Although he did not know what had happened four years earlier, he still respected and admired this leader of his.
"Elohim," he greeted excitedly.
"Calm down, my son." Theo replied calmly.
"Yes, Father." Zhou Wenwang, ashamed of his behavior, bowed his head. He was still more than ten years older than his previous leader, and yet it was he who looked like a young man.
"Do you need my help with anything?" asked Zhou Wenwang. He was no fool; in fact, he was brilliant. He wouldn't have become China's military advisor, Yang Ye's right-hand man if it weren't for his intelligence.
"You're right, Gadreel. I need you to get me three surveillance units, you know what I'm talking about." Theo replied.
"This... this is going to be a little difficult, Father." Gadreel wasn't lying. The equipment Elohim was asking for was a national secret. Zhou Wenwang didn't even ask how Theo knew about these surveillance teams, he knew about Lilith's existence, and he knew there was no way that a low-level national secret how these surveillance teams could hide from his ability to pirate.
"I know which Exael is working with you, I want them tomorrow at five o'clock in the afternoon. You know if I get in touch with that madman, you'll be without an investigator in less than ten minutes."
Zhou Wenwang sighed, "All right, tomorrow you'll have the devices."
"Perfect, Lilith will send you an e-mail with the address. Be discreet, I'm on a mission." Theo dropped it slightly.
Naturally, Gadreel understood what Theo meant. You didn't have to be too smart to know that Theo didn't want to be disturbed by the government.
Theo was anxious to meet the strong people that old Lin had talked about before, but he didn't want to get too involved with the government. He was a hired assassin and had a price on his head, and Theo did not doubt the Chinese government's ability to investigate his identity if he got their attention.
"Elohim... Have you seen Zaqiel since the incident?" Gadreel asked carefully.
For the first time, a flash of emotion passed through Theo's eyes. It was a complicated emotion, even Theo didn't know what this feeling was. He had never been good at identifying his own feelings, which had led him to gradually lose them, although two incidents in the past led him to cool down more and more.
The incident that Gadreel was talking about was the trigger that marked Theo. After that incident, he had not felt a proper emotion again. Even now, after recalling the event, he had only felt a flash of complicated emotion before it disappeared as if swallowed by a black hole.
"I have never seen her again. You're the first Nephilim I've communicated with after four years." Theo replied as if he didn't attach too much importance to it.
A glimpse of sadness passed through Zhou Wenwang's eyes. This leader of him, who was treated like a father to everyone, had spent four years and was the first time he had contacted one of them. Gadreel wondered, would Theo had contact him if he didn't need his help? Most likely not.
"Tomorrow... can I come and give you the devices? I would like to see you in person."
Theo thought about it for a moment and realized it wasn't a problem at all. "All right, I'll see you tomorrow."
"See you tomorrow."
They both said goodbye, and Theo hung up the call. Gadreel had wanted to keep talking, but he still had a meeting to attend. He made sure to turn off the phone completely before going back into the meeting.
"Are you done?" Yang Ye asked.
"Yes, he was an old friend I hadn't known in a long time."
"And you couldn't talk to him later?"
Zhou Wenwang gave him a sneer. "I doubt I could have talked to him if he hadn't answered the call."
Yang Ye nodded, did not want to enter too much into Zhou Wenwang's personal life, so he proceeded with the meeting. The rest of the people inside the meeting, although upset about the special treatment Zhou Wenwang received, all of them didn't dare to say anything. Zhou Wenwang was a person who had gotten his job because of his intelligence and hard work, but that wasn't all because he had the Zhou family as his backer.
"As I was saying, the Brahma organization continues to act suspiciously at the border..."
