Chapter 12

The sound of your heart -

is the most significant sound in my world.

Do you think I'll ever get better at this?

That my heart might someday stop trying

to jump out of my chest whenever you touch me?

It is not about the people who have been there from just the beginning.

When you can live forever,

what do you live for?

You don't know how long I have waited for you...

I'd rather die, than stay away from you...

No measure of time with you will be long enough.

But let's start with forever.

"Wakey, wakey!" Katherine was startled on Amber's loud voice making her rose up from her bed immediately. "My god, Amber! I thought something happened." Katherine said with her frustrated face but Amber was giggling. "Come on, get up." Amber said pulling her friend. "What time is it?" Katherine asked. "2 am." Amber answered. "Still early." Katherine said and laid herself again on her bed making Amber rolled her eyes. "Stand up sleepy head. Everyone is already up and preparing." Amber said pulling Katherine from her bed. "You are all coming?" Katherine asked. "Of course, we can't leave the both of you alone." Amber said with a teasing tone making Katherine blushed. "So get up or do you want Drake to fetch you here and carry you again?" Amber said raising her brows alternately. "Get lost!" Katherine said making Amber laughed.

"Ready?" Drake asked each and everyone then, they all nodded. All of them are outside the house, stretching and exercising their bodies. "Are you sure it's safe there, Drake?" Serafino asked while standing infront of the door, beside him is Vladamir. "No but, she will be safe, don't worry." Drake said looking at Serafino. "Okay, I trust you." Serafino said. "Dear, be safe, okay?" Serafino said looking at Katherine. "I will be fine, Paps. Besides, I have them." Katherine said looking at her friends and lastly at Drake. "Okay, be here before dinner." Serafino said and entered the house with Vladamir.

Each of them started walking making Katherine furrowed her forehead. "We're not bringing the cars?" Katherine asked. "Nope." Drake answered. "How are we suppose to get there without our rides?" Katherine asked with her raised brow. "That's where you use your feet." Drake said. Katherine knew she will not win against Drake so she decided to stop arguing with him.

"You run around the house first then, I'll decide if we will continue today's activities." Drake said. "Did you say activities?" Katherine asked. "Yes, after your speed, we'll test your other abilities." Drake said. "Are you trying to kill me?" Katherine said not believing that Drake is just like her grandfather, letting her do everything at the same time. "It depends on your body's strength and agility. Now, start and stop arguing!" Drake said with his serious voice. Her friends can't hide their smiles because they can see how Drake tamed Katherine.

"Am I doing this alone?" Katherine asked looking at Amber, Dawn, Thana, and Amdis. Drake rolled his eyes because of Katherine's annoying questions. "Yes! So if you don't want to be left behind, start running!" Drake said making Katherine puff air.

"You go first. Search the whole area for unwanted visitors. Make sure it will be safe for her." Drake said talking to Athan. "Sure, Boss." Athan said saluting. "Let's go guys. Let's leave the lovebirds alone." Athan continued with his teasing voice. "You sure you can handle her?" Alaric asked. "Yeah, piece of cake." Drake said with a smirk. "Paps will definitely slash your neck if something happens to his precious girl." Blade said with a warning. "Nothing will happen. I trust you guys." Drake said. "Okay, we'll go first." Kieran said and Drake nodded. "Let's go ladies." Athan said. "Don't dare to kiss her again." Amber said before leaving. "I can't promise you that. I know the boys told you already what she meant to me." Drake said making Amber an "O" face. "Just promise me you won't hurt or make her cry." Amber said with a warning. "I won't but I can't promise she will not cry over her training." Drake said. "That's understandable. We should make her be fully ready for her transformation." Amber said. Their chitchat was interrupted when Dawn called Amber. "Let's go, Amber." Dawn shouted. "Coming." Amber shouted back and they all vanished from sight.

Katherine made 10 turns around the house. She hapilly stood infront of Drake. "I'm done, let's follow them." Katherine said pulling Drake. "How many did you made?" Drake asked. "10 in 30 sec." Katherine said boastfully. "Give me 50 in 1." Drake said making Katherine eyes widely opened. "What? Are you serious about that?" Katherine asked. "Am I laughing?" Drake asked with his serious face. "You're..." Katherine said. "I am what, Princess?" Drake said bowing his head to level with Katherine's face. Their faces are so close to each other, smelling their scents, making Katherine blushed. "I'm running!" Katherine said then, immediately left Drake. Because she was in a hurry, she didn't saw the smile on Drake's handsome face.

"Kieran and Amdis, you stay here and secure the area." Athan said. "Thana and Blade will be on the next stop, Dawn and Alaric will be on the third, Amber and I on the last. Inform everyone if there are problems. Be carefull guys." Athan said and everyone nodded in response.

"I'm done, Your Highness." Katherine said with a little sarcasm on her voice. Drake smirk. "Very good, my Queen." Drake said. "After you." Drake continued. "Oh, before you dash away. Don't let me catch up with you because everytime I could touch any part of your body, there will be a punishment." Drake said making Katherine tensed because of Drake's grin. She became excited at the same time nervous. "What will be the punishment?" Katherine asked curiously. "Depends on me. Maybe a punch, a kick, a spank, a pinch in the nose, a twist on the ear, anything that will come into my mind." Drake said not removing his grin. "Wow, a cold-blooded vampire here. Thanks for the warning though. See yah!" Katherine said before vanishing quickly. "Or maybe a kiss." Drake said talking to himself then smiled mischievously.
