Chapter 31

"Is it possible to love someone so completely,

so intensely, they could never die?

To give them more than just your heart or your soul?

They floated through the foggy recesses of his mind,

plucked from the dark and released into the air like a dove."

Katherine felt refreshed after napping but someone is lying beside her and embracing her tightly. When she opened her eyes, she smiled but it immediately faded when she remembered that she's angry with him.

"Babyyyyyy..." Drake thought he's already forgiven. "Don't baby me!" Katherine said making Drake furrowed his forehead. "I already said sorry." Drake said. "Go back to your girlfriend!" Katherine said. "Girlfriend!?" Drake said. "Lenora!?" Drake continued. "But baby, she's my cousin." Drake said making Katherine raised a brow. "Don't lie! She said it herself that she's your girlfriend!" Katherine hissed. "She's not. Father planned all this." Drake said. "Uncle Lazarus?" Katherine asked and he nodded. "Well, Paps and Cassius planned this with him and dragged Lenora to play her trick and I guess they suceeded because you got jealous." Drake said with a wide grin on his face. "I'm not jealous!" Katherine said making Drake laughed.

"Are we good?" Drake asked after a few moments of silence. When Katherine nodded, he changed his position. He is now above Katherine and looking intently at her. "What?" Katherine asked. "You're so beautiful." Drake said. "I know." Katherine said making him smirk. Slowly, he lowered his body to meet her body. He kissed her forehead then, her nose, her cheeks, her neck sending shivers all over her body. Finally after teasing her face, he captured her lips for a passionate kiss. He asked access to savor the inside of her mouth and he was allowed making her moaned. His hand is beginning to wander her body when they heard a knock from the door. Drake didn't paid attention and continue touching her sensitive part but when the door opened, Katherine pushed him sending him to the floor.

"I'm sorry to interrupt but Lord Lazarus told me to get you two because dinner is ready." Cassius suppressed his laughter seeing Drake's state. "I'll kill you." Drake said mind-linking Cassius. Katherine tidied herself. "We're coming, thank you, Cassius." Katherine said blushing. When Cassius went out, Drake immediately pressed Katherine back to the bed.

"What are you doing?" Katherine asked. "We can skip dinner and continue what we started." Drake said with a teasing smile. Katherine rolled her eyes. "Your father is waitiing for us." Katherine said. "He'll understand." Drake said and started touching her again. "Drake, stop!" Katherine controlled herself not to give in to Drake's teasing. "We'll, ahm, continue this later?" Katherine said feeling her face became tomato red in color. "Promised?" Drake asked with a wide smile on his face. "I guess?" Katherine said. "Okay, let's go." Drake said then pulled Katherine to go outside and meet his father.

Dinner went well though Katherine felt embarassed on the way Lazarus, Cassius, and Lenora are looking at her with mischievous smiles on their faces. Drake didn't mind them and ate dinner in a hurry.

"Are you going somewhere?" Lazarus asked his son curiously. "No plan at all." Drake said drinking the last drop of his wine. "Why you're in a hurry?" Lazarus asked. "Well, Katherine and I have something to continue that Cassius disrupted a while ago." Drake said making Katherine choked on her food while Cassius laughed. Katherine gave an angry glare to Drake. "I see, I guess, you need to wait a little longer because Serafino and the council are coming over to talk about Gregory and his clan." Lazarus said. "What? Why now? Can't it be tomorrow?" Drake asked. "Drake!?" Katherine gave a warning look at him. Lazarus secretly smiled on his son's reaction. "Since Gregory and the rest were at Serafino's place, we decided to talk things over here because Katherine is already here." Lazarus said. "How long will it last?" Drake asked with disappointment on his face. "It depends." Lazarus said. "When do they arrive?" Katherine asked. "In a few minutes." Lazarus said. "Okay, I'll just changed." Katherine said. "I'll come with you." Drake said. "Nooooooo..." Katherine said making Drake looked at her. "Just stay here." Katherine said blushing. Lazarus laughters echoed through the house. He knew what Katherine meant. If Drake will come with her, that something might continue and they will not be able to meet her grandfather and the council.

Drake slumped back to his seat. "Don't worry son, you'll have plenty of time with her. There are more important things to do first than your something." Lazarus said making Drake rolled his eyes.

Serafino with Vladamir, Orpheus with Silas, Raul with Rodolfo, Thomas, the council head, and the rest of the council members arrived. They greeted each other and the council formally introduced themselves to Katherine.

"Let's start." Serafino said and the council meeting started.
