Chapter 39

Name:Immortality's Love Author:arrette
The Giaour [Unquenched, unquenchable]

George Gordon Byron - 1788-1824

... Unquenched, unquenchable,

Nor ear can hear nor tongue can tell

The tortures of that inward hell!

But first, on earth as vampire sent,

Thy corse shall from its tomb be rent:

Then ghastly haunt thy native place,

And suck the blood of all thy race:

There from thy daughter, sister, wife,

At midnight drain the stream of life;

Yet loathe the banquet which perforce

Must feed thy livid living corse:

Thy victims ere they yet expire

Shall know the demon for their sire,

As cursing thee, thou cursing them,

Thy flowers are withered on the stem.

But one that for thy crime must fall,

The youngest, most beloved of all,

Shall bless thee with a father's name

_

That word shall wrap thy heart in flame!

Yet must thou end thy task, and mark

Her cheek's last tinge, her eye's last spark,

And the last glassy glance must view

Which freezes o'er its lifeless blue;

Then with unhallowed hand shalt tear

The tresses of her yellow hair,

Of which in life a lock when shorn

Affection's fondest pledge was worn,

But now is borne away by thee,

Memorial of thine agony!

"I'm really sorry for your brother. I didn't mean to..." Gregory smiled. "It's alright, he deserved that." Gregory said making Katherine and Drake furrowed their foreheads. "He was never been good to me...all of them. They didn't treat me as their own brother, I'm only one of their toys." Katherine saw the sadness in Gregory's eyes. "The only person that was good to me was my mother but..." Gregory choked on his words. "She died on my father's hands." Anger is now evident on Gregory's eyes. "I'm sorry..." Katherine said putting her hands on Gregory's shoulder. "It's all in the past now. Let's talk about Luther and Travis." Gregory said and Katherine nodded.

"Travis is much stronger than me but Luther is the strongest amongst the four of us. He can kill without mercy. He's greedy when it comes to power. We don't have enough proof but one of my friends in the council have the same hunch with me." Gregory said. "Hunch about?" Drake asked. "That he's behind our father's death." Both Drake and Katherine kept quite.

"Both Travis and Luther are good fighters but I know you could easily deal with them but the only problem with Luther is that...he's using black magic. He's living with his witch partner for quite sometime now and she's been doing a great job in helping Luther. She made a potion blocking his scent so the enemies can't detect him." Gregory said. "I can smell someone which has the same scent with you and Travis but he's scent is somewhat different. A combination of..." Katherine said. "A vampire and human blood?" Gregory asked and Katherine nodded. "He's a Dhampir. Our father is a vampire and his mother is human." Gregory said. "We have the same father but different mothers." Gregory continued making Katherine and Drake looked at each other. They can't believe what they've been hearing from Gregory's family.

"Your ability to sense his scent is an advantage for you but still, you should be careful. He is a cunning man. He will do everything just to get what he wants even killing he's own kind." Gregory said. "He's after you, Katherine. Your blood will make him the most powerful vampire on earth." Gregory continued. "Why are you telling all these informations to us?" Katherine asked. "Because..." Gregory looked at Drake. "I want to help by ending his craziness. Our people have suffered enough under his leadership. I want to grant the only wish of my mother and that was...peace for everyone." Gregory said. "And because he likes you." Drake said making Gregory blushed. Katherine looked at Drake with squinted eyes.

"What!? I only helped him to confess his feelings." Drake said making Katherine rolled her eyes. "Get out!" Katherine said. "Why?" Drake asked. "Just go, shoo...shoo!" Katherine said pushing Drake outside. She closed the door and locked it.

"Katherine, I swear I will destroy this door if you'll not open this!" Drake said. "Try me and you'll regret it later." Katherine said. Drake left the place with a frown on his handsome face. "I'll just talk to him. I will give you something later." Katherine said using the mind link. "And what would that be?" Drake asked excitedly. The frown a while ago was replaced with a michievous smile. "You will surely like it." Katherine said. "Okay, okay, hurry up. I'll wait for you in my room." Drake said and happily went outside the place.

"He really loves you." Gregory said. "Yes!" Katherine said. "I'm sorry..." Katherine continued when she saw that Gregory felt a little awkward. "It's okay, I know you're mates and I will surely meet my mate maybe soon." Gregory said. "And she will be the luckiest girl, I mean vampire because she will meet you." Katherine said making Gregory smiled.

"Would you help me, help us in dealing with your brothers?" Katherine asked after a moment of silence. "If there will be peace then, I will help." Gregory said. "Thank you." Katherine said. "Don't thank me yet. We still need to prepare you for the final battle." Gregory said making Katherine raised her brows. "Ready yourself tomorrow. We will continue our duel." Gregory said. "No problem!" Katherine said with a smile on her beautiful face. Gregory sighed. "If Drake is not your mate, do I have a chance?" Gregory asked. "Hey! Stop flirting with my girl!" Both of them laughed when they heard Drake's voice mind linking them both.
