Yin Banshuang and Jin Ying glanced at each other, realizing that neither of them understood what had just happened. Why had Mo Wen been taken away by a ray of light while they were both fine?
"What was that crimson gold tail feather in his arms?" Yin Banshuang's willow-like eyebrows arched in confusion.
What was that thing? What connection did a tail feather have with that mysterious hall and why was Mo Wen taken away? The two were puzzled.
"It must be some treasure. Hurmph, I already said that he was keeping a secret from us."
Jin Ying narrowed her eyes. She did not care if Mo Wen lived or died. She was just very interested in his secrets. The vital Qi cloud's disappearance had been strange. What was even stranger was that the ruins of those puppet monsters had all disappeared.
The ruins of the puppet monsters would be the size of a small mountain if they were piled together. How could they just disappear? She could not believe that nothing was going on. It was just she had not found out what yet. Perhaps also, she did not want to discuss the matter with Yin Banshuang. Jin Ying wanted to speak to Mo We privately and ask about it. But now Mo Wen had been unexpectedly taken away by the mysterious hall. She did not know if he was alive or dead.
"Let's go. His fate is up to the heavens. Since he has been taken away, then we need not bother with him," Yin Banshuang said lightly. However, she glanced at Jin Ying meaningfully. She was not blind. How could she not know that something that drastic had happened outside? Even she wondered where the ruins of the puppet monsters had gone. Like Jin Ying, she had not asked that particular question out loud.
"The Xuan Ming Shielded Tortoise outside of this space will be almost into the cave by now. It might be guarding the pool waiting for us get out of it. You know how strong its attack is. We shall leave together. Don't try to play any tricks." Jin Ying glanced at Yin Banshuang. They did not trust Mo Wen and there was no trust between the two of them either.
"Rest assured. There won't be any problems from me if you don't create any. Do you think I want to die in the Xuan Ming Shielded Tortoise's stomach?" Yin Banshuang harrumphed coldly. The degree of the scariness of the Xuan Ming Shielded Tortoise could not be measured by its cultivation. Even though both their cultivations had improved greatly, and they now needed no fear even when going against practitioners at the later stage of the Golden Elixir realm, the Xuan Ming Shielded Tortoise was different. With both their capabilities, there was only a possibility of them escaping even if they worked together.
However, even though they could not go against the danger the ancient Xuan Ming Shielded Tortoise posed with their current levels of cultivation, it would not be too difficult for them to leave quickly.
The two left in silence, seeming to no longer be interested in what had happened to Mo Wen. After all, they had only been in a temporary partnership. Now that they had gotten the vital Qi, it was time to part ways.
When the white ray of light retracted, Mo We appeared on a square surrounding by a hall.
Everything around him was desolate. There were weeds growing everywhere and the buildings were badly damaged. More than half of them had collapsed.
He could see gleaming white skeletal remains within the weeds. The bones glowed with white light, giving the impression of beautiful jade. Even though there were not many complete sets of remains, he could see that they were from skilled practitioners. Otherwise, there would not be so much skeleton remaining after so long a time.
Mo Wen knew from a glance that the owners of these bones all had Crystal Muscles Jade Bones. And they were all in high realms of cultivation. Their bodies were not ordinary for they had not rotted after tens and thousands of years. He was certain that the owners of these bones were all terrifying immortal cultivators that had the cultivation of at least the Tide Changing realm.
There were so many high cultivation realm immortal cultivators in this hall. This place must have been a headquarters of great power many years ago.
Mo Wen did not dare to touch the skeletal remains because the bones still had in them a wild strength even after being corroded by so much time. Once they were touched, they might explode into smithereens.
He looked around him and discovered that there was no road leading up to where he was. Mo Wen did not know why he had appeared in this place, but it definitely had something to do with the gold tail feather.
"What do you want to do?" Mo Wen looked at the gold tail feather in his hand and spoke aloud somewhat helplessly. He had just wanted to leave the space immediately and had no thoughts of seeking treasure and adventure there. However, as fate would have it, he had now entered the most dangerous hall.
"We'll take it one step at a time." Mo Wen sighed again. At this point in time, he could only pray for better luck and hope that he did not encounter anything. He knew that the gold tail feather had something to do with the owner of the hall. As the natal treasure of the Inferno Star Lord, it was definitely closely related to the Inferno Star Lord.
Mo Wen walked forward for some distance and discovered that there was still a rather well- preserved hall in the distance. It was a little more normal in there.
The other places nearby had either all collapsed and were in ruins, or were in the remains of the wild energy storm and could not be entered.
"Inferno Star Hall." Mo Wen walked up to the hall. There were four characters written in dancing script on the board. Each and every one of the characters looked like dragons dancing in the air. There were only a few characters, but they gave one an extremely strong visual impact.
It was a very ancient script, and by rights, Mo Wen should not be able to recognize the four words. However, when he saw the sign, the meaning of the four characters immediately appeared in his mind.
The Inferno Star Hall. This should be the main hall of all these halls.
Earlier, he had gained information from the gold tail feather and knew that these halls and space had all belonged to an immortal cultivator called Inferno Star Lord. This had been a very stable space a long time ago. However, something had happened that he did not know of, causing the space to turn into a pile of rubble.
Mo Wen thought for a moment before entering the hall with long strides. He discovered that he could not go anywhere else but into this large hall.
There were nine flights of stairs leading up to the Inferno Star Hall and every flight of stairs had 9,999 steps. It was no different from climbing up a mountain for an ordinary person to climb up these stairs. However, it posed no difficulty to Mo Wen.
He ascended the mountain stairs in just a moment and appeared outside the doors of the hall.
Inside the large hall was a very large space. It was completely empty and silent. A person standing inside it was like an ant on a football field.
Mo Wen had only seen such a large palace once. That was the Devil's heart hall in the forbidden land of the Dafang Sect where the Demon Devil's Heart had once stayed. An ordinary architect would not be able to build such a construction.
The inner hall was very big. Mo Wen walked curiously into the hall. There was a very tall Spiral Dragon Pillar every 500 meters. Each Spiral Dragon Pillar was about 50 meters tall and its size was incredible.
Mo Wen walked back and forth in front of a Spiral Dragon Pillar. He suddenly discovered that there seemed to be some people carved on the pillar. The people were all doing different things. When he looked at them closely, they looked as if they were performing a martial art. But when one analyzed it seriously, they would discover that they could not understand anything that was shown in the carving. It felt as if there was a layer of mist in front of his eyes. The more you wanted to see clearly, the more unclear it was.
Mo Wen knew that the figures carved on the Spiral Dragon Pillar would not be anything regular. He forced himself to focus his attention wholly on the vague figures. But the more he tried to see them clearly, the more he realized that he could not. His sight grew more and more blurry.
Puff! Mo Wen suddenly opened his mouth and spat out fresh blood. He felt dizzy and almost fell to the ground.
"How strange." Mo Wen's face was pale as he looked at the Spiral Dragon Pillar with a hard to understand gaze. There was some resentment in his eyes and some fear.
He could not see clearly the figure on the pillar with his Soul power and had almost hurt his soul in trying to do so.
He guessed, based on his feelings, that the things carved on the Spiral Dragon Pillar must be esoteric. It was similar to martial arts, but his ability did not allow him to sense anything else.
Mo Wen gave up trying to decipher the carvings and continued to walk around. As he continued, he discovered that the figures who seemed to be performing martial arts were on every pillar. There were 18 Spiral Dragon Pillars in the hall, but he could not see the figures on a single pillar clearly.
"What martial arts are those?" Mo Wen was filled with confusion. The martial arts carved on the Spiral Dragon Pillar must be a rare martial art. Even Absolute Rank martial arts are were far simpler than that. This was the first time he had encountered a martial arts he did not understand at all.
"Oh, that's…" Mo Wen discovered a person as he walked deeper into the large hall. The person was seated cross-legged under a statue. He had an indescribably elegant aura. He seemed like an elder, but his skin was as smooth as an infant's. He had white hair, but the appearance of a child. His eyes were tightly shut and his face was flushed. He looked like a sleeping old man.
Mo Wen was shocked when a person had suddenly appeared in front of him in a place like that. Then, he discovered that the elder sitting on the ground cross-legged looked like a dead person. Even though by outward appearance, he did not look much different from a living being, his body did not have any signs of life.
"A dead person?" A large question mark floated up in Mo Wen's mind. His expression was extremely odd. How could a dead person look more alive than a living person! From the surface, the old man did not seem like a dead person but instead looked healthier than anyone else.
Furthermore, the mysterious palace had been abandoned for many years, tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of years. It would be amazing to leave behind skeletal remains after such a long period of time. How was it possible to preserve a complete body?
Mo Wen frowned lightly. Could it be that the old man was like him and had entered the hall, unable to get out after many years? Was that why he could only sit here?
This did not seem likely either because a person who could enter should be able to exit. It wasn't possible that he had the ability to enter but not exit. As for Mo Wen, he had only entered by mere coincidence, so that did not apply to him.
