575 A Complete Transformation

Mo Wen had a hundred questions about the perfectly preserved corpse. What was it that could keep a corpse so fresh and prevent it from corroding over a 10,000-year period? Moreover, the corpse was simply sitting over there, without any special techniques or methods of preservation.

If the old man really hailed from 10,000 years ago, there could only be one possibility. It must be the case that his flesh was immortal and could not corrode.

Flesh of such level could only belong to a truly exceptional master. Only people with great magical power could achieve such a feat. For example, the Sect Leader of Divine Pill Sect, where Mo Wen had been in his last life, would probably have flesh that would not corrode after 10,000 years.

Of course, these sort of bodies that would not corrode after 10,000 years were very relative. Perhaps after another few thousand years, they would corrode.

All of a sudden, Mo Wen noticed the two shining tail feathers floating above the old man's head. They looked very similar to the crimson gold tail feather. It was just that their colors were different. Other than that, their outer appearance was the same and they were even of the exact same length.

"That is…" Instantly, Mo Wen realized that those tail feathers could be two of the tail feathers from the Seven Star Heavenly Fire Fan.

The Seven Star Heavenly Fire Fan had seven tail feathers. They had all been dispersed and nobody knew of their whereabouts. However, no one had expected that two of them would be in the main hall.

When Mo Wen looked at those two tail feathers, he felt a certain feeling overwhelm him. The crimson gold tail feather suddenly broke free of his hands and emanated a crimson gold ray of light. Then, it fiercely collided with the two tail feathers above the old man's head.

Almost simultaneously, the two tail feathers that were each green and blue emitted rays of light. The three rays of light gleamed with radiance as they merged together. In the blink of an eye, they had formed a three-colored swirl. The three tail feathers were levitating above the swirl as they danced continuously, releasing eye-catching and colorful rays of light.

Mo Wen was now certain that the green and blue tail feathers belonged to the Seven Star Heavenly Fire Fan.

However, Mo Wen did not expect that the three-colored swirl would actually fly over in his direction with a whizzing sound, immediately trapping him.

Mo Wen got a shock and sensed that something was not right. Immediately, he tried to dodge it. However, a frighteningly strong force had clamped down from above his head. Immediately, he lost control of his body and could not even move an inch.

"What is going on?" His expression changed slightly. Why were the three tail feathers pointed at him all of a sudden?

However, he no longer had the luxury of time to think. A scary pain started to invade every corner of his body. It was as though there was some force tearing his body apart. Even with his perseverance and tolerance, he had almost fainted from the pain.

The mass of the three-colored swirl engulfed Mo Wen's body and spun crazily. With every swirl it made, Mo Wen's body was wrecked once more. The frightening pain was constantly traveling to his cranial nerves as it became stronger and stronger. In the end, he could no longer control his thoughts. Subconsciously, he let out a blood-curdling scream.

It felt as though he had landed in hell. The intensity of the pain he was experiencing could not be handled by the average person, and they would have died immediately. Every minute and second felt like an eternity.

Mo Wen did not know how much time had passed, but at last the frightening pain began to decrease gradually. The three-colored swirl began to disperse slowly into the air before disappearing completely.

Mo Wen lay on the ground and still had not recovered up even after a long while. He had been stripped entirely of his clothes. The strong pull of the force he was under had converted them into minuscule particles.

Mo Wen was completely naked and looked extremely pathetic. However, his skin looked just like that beautiful jade. It was fair and tender and was actually emitting gentle glows. It no longer looked like flesh, but rather a piece of beautiful jade.

"Damn it, I thought I would die." Mo Wen let out a huge sigh. His experience beforehand had simply been a nightmare for him. If he could choose, he would definitely not have wanted to experience it. He did not understand why such a thing had happened. He simply felt as though his brain was still completely muddled.

After a full hour, Mo Wen could finally pick himself up. He looked for some clothes from his storage ring to change into. His clothes from before could no longer be found.

"Eh, what's going on!" While he was getting changed, Mo Wen finally noticed the change that had happened to his body. His skin had become as tender and supple as an infant's. Moreover, he seemed to harbor a very strong power within him. He felt as though with his current power, he could easily knock out an ancient martial art practitioner with the beginning stage of the Golden Elixir realm with just one punch.

The power in his body was very odd and he could not find an explanation for it. However, he just felt power exuding from him.

Without another word, Mo Wen immediately sat down cross-legged. He focused his energy and looked inside himself, checking up on his own body. Suddenly, he realized just how vigorous his Qi and blood had become. It was simply unbelievable. It could actually be compared to that of a Seventh level monstrous beast. It was the ultimate intensity of power, and it felt as though he could even lift a small mountain with one hand.

After quite a bit of time had passed, Mo Wen finally snapped out of his internal vision and opened his eyes. His eyes were filled with surprise and shock. He had actually gone through another round of complete transformation. His current body had essentially surpassed that of any other ancient martial art practitioner.

Even an entire ancient martial art sect would not be able to compare to him as long as they did not train their mortal bodies. The strength of his current body gave him the confidence to face everything head-on. He even had the confidence to take a direct punch from an ancient martial art practitioner with the beginning stage of the Golden Elixir realm.

"Such a powerful mortal body." Mo Wen was overwhelmed with all kinds of emotions. He had not imagined that all of this would actually be a blessing in disguise. The complete transformation had not just given him a stronger mortal body; it also provided him with the potential to develop his talent further. That was because the mortal body served as the foundation for everything else.

Mo Wen was still utterly confused about what had happened. However, he knew that it definitely had something to do with those three tail feathers. He did not know what exactly those three tail feathers from the Seven Star Heavenly Fire Fan had done to him. However, it did not seem like a bad thing. Moreover, it appeared to even be an unexpected blessing.

Mo Wen scanned his surroundings and noticed that those three tail fathers had fallen to the ground at his feet. The three tail feathers were magnificent and colorful, in gold, green and blue.

Subconsciously, Mo Wen picked up the three tail feathers. As his hand touched those tail feathers, a lot of information suddenly rushed into his brain. In a moment, he understood everything that had happened.

The three tail feathers of the Seven Star Heavenly Fire Fan had automatically identified him as their owner and chosen him as the successor of the Inferno Star Lord. Hence, they deemed him worthy of inheriting the teachings of the Inferno Star Lord.

Everything that had happened beforehand was training. It had also served as a test. If he lacked tolerance and fainted under the delivering of power from the tail feathers, he would have disappeared from the surface of the earth, just like his clothes had done.

"Such a close shave." Mo Wen would never have expected that the test would not allow him to descend into a state of unconsciousness, or indeed that it could have killed him. In reality, the pain that he had experienced had exceeded his tolerance. However, his undying attitude and stubbornness had prevented him from giving up and meant that he had made it through.

"Senior, although I simply became your successor by chance, if it is possible, I will definitely find all the remaining tail feathers of the Seven Star Heavenly Fire Fan."

Mo Wen walked over to the old man who was seated cross-legged below the divine image and he bowed deeply. It was then that he knew that this old man was actually the owner of this palace, the Inferno Star Lord. 10,000 years ago, the Inferno Star Lord had already died. The only thing remaining was his mortal body. His mortal body had not corroded, even after such a long time. Hence, the Inferno Star Lord definitely had been an incredible presence back in his time.

Moreover, Mo Wen realized that this Inferno Star Lord was actually as average as him. He had no spiritual roots but was of exceptional talent in martial arts. Through the way of martial arts, he had succeeded in becoming immortal. However, he had originated as a pure ancient martial art practitioner.

The path that the Inferno Star Lord had taken was the exact one Mo Wen hoped to take. Being his successor was much more important to Mo Wen than being Ji Wuya's successor. However, it was a pity that right now, Mo Wen could not truly be his successor. That was because he could only truly become the Inferno Star Lord's successor after gathering all the seven tail feathers of the Seven Star Heavenly Fire Fan.

Before the Inferno Star Lord had passed away, he had sealed his inheritance within the Seven Star Heavenly Fire Fan. Later, nobody knew why but the Seven Star Heavenly Fire Fan had been split into seven parts and its locations were all unknown.

Currently, there were three tail feathers of the Seven Star Heavenly Fire Fan in Mo Wen's possession. However, the location of the remaining pieces was unknown. It was even possible that they had slipped into the gaps of space.

Mo Wen's ability was not enough to allow him to find all the tail feathers within a short period of time.

The tail feathers had the ability to sense one another, and Mo Wen already had three of them in his possession, which meant that he had a good chance of detecting the other tail feathers. However, it would only be possible to detect them from a distance if his cultivation was sufficiently high. Otherwise, he could only hunt down the rest of the tail feathers based on simply sensing them if he were an Immortal Cultivator. Those steps were currently simply too far away for Mo Wen to achieve.

However, although he was unable to receive the full inheritance of the Inferno Star Lord, Mo Wen had still gained some things. The Inferno Star Lord appeared to have already anticipated such a situation. Hence, he had sealed a type of rite of passage martial arts in each and every one of the tail feathers, as well as his revelations in beginning his immortal cultivation by practicing martial arts.

The rite of passage martial arts were the martial arts that ancient martial art practitioners would cultivate along their path of development after becoming Immortal Cultivators.

That type of ancient martial arts was called the rite of passage martial arts. They were on a par with the remarkable powers that Immortal Cultivators cultivated, and had very powerful, earth-shattering abilities.

They were no longer on the same level as the average ranked martial arts. Even the Heaven and Earth Great Shift could not be compared to the rite of passage martial arts.

The Inferno Star Lord had trained in martial arts all his life and collated all that he had learned. He then created a type of remarkable power that was called the Seven Glorious Infernos.

The Seven Glorious Infernos was a combination of the essence of the Inferno Star Lord's lifetime. It had been created in the last days of his life and was renowned across the world of Immortal Cultivators back then.

There was one of the seven Glories hidden in each and every tail feather. Mo Wen had three tail feathers in his possession, which meant that he had inherited three out of the seven Glories.

The Seven Glorious Infernos included the Glory of Thunder, the Glory of Wind, the Glory of Cloud, the Glory of Sun, the Glory of Moon, the Glory of Star and the Glory of Divinity.

He did not know why but the three tail feathers had imparted to him the Glory of Thunder, the Glory of Wind and the Glory of Cloud. However, they did not impart the higher-leveled martial arts like the Glory of Sun, Glory of Moon and Glory of Star.

Out of the Seven Glorious Infernos, the Glory of Thunder, Glory of Wind and Glory of Cloud formed the foundations. The subsequent Glory of Sun, Glory of Moon, Glory of Star and Glory of Divinity were the rarer great magical powers.
