Chapter 1109 - Palermo

Ignoring the massive crowd in front of him, Julian headed towards the VIP entrance which is much less crowded but there are still a few people standing in line, he was surprised by this as he didn't expect people to be actually standing in front of the VIP line.

This Showcase seems to be much more famous than he thought, even VIPs are lining up to see this event even though it's a rookie event.

Julian joined the line and waited for his turn, right in front of him stood an old lady who is wearing an expensive dress, Julian saw the tag hanging out of her dress and realized that it was made by Valerie.

Julian wondered who this old woman is as getting Valerie personally designed for you is near impossible, he has done some research on Valerie's work as she will be working for him and he has never seen the kind of design that this old woman is wearing.

The line started to move forward and Julian put his thoughts at the back of his head and went forward, he entered the stadium through the VIP door, he then made his way towards the VIP section.

When he got there he was surprised once again to see the old woman who was standing in front of him during the line in front of the stadium, the old woman noticed Julian's presence and looked at him and nodded at him with a smile.

Julian also nodded his head at her and took his seat a few seats away from the old woman, he observed the woman and noticed that she is quite good-looking for her age, she must have been a very beautiful woman in her younger days.

He then looked at the stage which is glimmering with lights, the crowd seems to be having a blast as they are very loud, the three judges that are at the front are being touched up by their makeup artist for one final time before they go live as this event will be broadcasted all over Kalos and other regions as well.

Julian carefully watched as the show finally began, it all started with a very grand entrance from a man wearing a blue suit and a blue hat, and along with him his pokemon Klefki.

Julian also noticed a unique key hanging on the Klefki which he presumed to be the Princess Key.

The man in blue introduced himself as Monsieur Pierre and welcomed everything in this grand event, he then introduced the judges who will be judging this event and also their pokemons.

With that event started. Pierre started the event by first explaining the rules of this showcase and then introduced the first line of contestants who were introduced as pokemon performers.

He then informed the crowd about the theme of this event and it was Pokepuffs, Julian had heard about this, rookie showcase has two stages, one is theme performance and one is freestyle performance.

And this seems to be the theme of performance and today's theme is Pokepuffs, once the theme was introduced three performers came to the stage accompanied by their pokemons and stood behind their respective cooking tables.

These performers will have to make Pokepuffs with the help of their pokemon.

The competition started and the three female trainers started making Pokepuffs, their pokemons got involved as well, one of them used its psychic powers to help its trainer and make her job easier.

One pokemon seems to be picking the best ingredients out of the batch and handing it over to its trainer, making sure that the puff that they make is made of the best ingredients.

One pokemon joined its trainer and made the cooking process look very fancy, soon all three performers were down making their puffs and the puffs were presented to the judges, the judges tasted those puffs along with their pokemons and came to a verdict and announced the result.

Out of the three performers, the blue-short-haired girl passed and moved on to the second round.

Julian "This looks easy"

Julian commented as he saw nothing special being performed by these trainers, in his eyes all his pokemons will be able to perform such tasks with ease, the old woman who was sitting beside Julian heard him and frowned her brows.

"Why do you think it's easy?"

The old woman couldn't help but ask this young man why he thought so.

Julian turned his head and looked at the old woman and smiled but she couldn't see it behind his mask.

Julian "Well, if the bond between a pokemon and its trainer is strong such task should be trivial, it can be easily performed by any pair"

Julian said.

Hearing this answer, the old woman showed surprise on her face.

"Do you think you can do a better job than these girls?"

The Old woman asked as she wanted to hear more from this young man.

Julian "Indeed, it is very easy, I don't like bragging but the bond between me and my pokemons are way above normal standards"

He said. He knew that this old woman would not believe him so he just messed with her a little.

The Old woman didn't know what to say after Julian's response, she has never seen such an arrogant person before.

"Well, I guess people believe they can do anything"

She said with annoyance in her voice and continued to watch the show, Julian found the old woman's actions funny, he didn't want to piss of this old woman but she was the one who came on his aggressively.

Julian just smiled warily and continued to watch the performance, even though the event was quite simple in execution he enjoyed it, soon a familiar face appeared on the stage and Julian was surprised to see her.

Julian "Oh, she is participating as well"

Julian said with a smile on his face, the curious old woman once again got curious and looked at Julian.

"Who are you talking about?"

She asked.

Julian "The girl with blond hair"

Julian said with pointing at Serena.

"So you know Serena?"

The Old woman asked. Julian was surprised that the old woman knew who Serena was and nodded his head.

Julian "She travels with a kid I know, she is a good girl"

Julian praised her.

Julian "How do you know her?"

He asked.

"I am looking for the next performer to mentor and she is someone I am interested in"

She answered.

Julian "Who are you again?"

He asked.

"Ah! sorry for not introducing myself, my name is Palermo"

She introduced herself.
