Chapter 1147 - The First Opponent

The opening ceremony of the league was as grand as ever, people filled up the streets as they watched the parade going through the streets towards the massive stadium that is next to the prism tower.

This is where the league will be held, Julian enjoyed his time watching the parade, and all the celebrations that took place during the time of the pre-league ceremony, the passing of the torch, and lighting up the Moltres flame were done like every other league.

Trainers flooded the streets during the last two days before the league starts as many still had to register for the league.

Julian didn't do much during these times, he just had fun with his fiancées, training now won't matter because his pokemons won't have any significant improvements in a week, he has already trained them enough for the league and any further development will take them months from now on.

The day of the league was here, Julian opened his eyes and found Cynthia sleeping to his right and Chloe to his left, Daisy had her hands over Chloe and cuddled against her.

He got up from his bed without disturbing the girls and got ready, it's early but the streets are already bursting with people. Since it's the first day of the league, there will be multiple battles throughout the day and people are here to come and watch them.

Most of them are here for watching the battles, but some are here to learn as they plan to become trainers, some of them come here to record these battles and post them online as these get a lot of views.

Julian stopped looking outside and started preparing for the day, he cleaned up and made breakfast for himself and his fiancées, once they were done eating, all of them made their way towards the stadium as they wanted to support Julian, even though they know he is going to win, they still like to do so as they are supportive and loving fiancées.

When they got there, they didn't have to wait like others, since Julian is a participant, he didn't need to line up, and his fiancées have a VIP backstage access pass so they could join him.

Julian's first opponent has not been selected yet as it will be randomly selected by a computer, it didn't matter to Julian, he just hoped that his first opponent is not the strongest trainer in the league because the rest of the league will be pretty boring if he takes out the strongest opponent in the very first round.

Julian waited for the first round to start, he was soon informed by a worker that trainers who are participating are asked to wait in the waiting area, Julian knew it was time so he bid farewell to his fiancées while they made their way towards the VIP lounge where they can watch the battles in peace.

Julian was escorted to the trainer's waiting room, as soon as Julian entered the room, the whole room went quiet as the trainers inside noticed Julian, they were surprised to see him here, even though they all know that Julian will be participating it was still very intimidating for these trainers to be in the same room as him, they are normal trainers and most of them have just started their trainer's journey or are second or third timer.

Julian, on the other hand, is a multi-time champion, he has won all the leagues he has participated in, compared to any other trainer in this world, Julian is the only one with such a high success rate.

Most trainers would be intimidated to come face to face with him and would be really worried if they are the ones who are going to battle him.

Julian saw how tense the atmosphere of the waiting room got as he entered but he didn't care, he just walked in, found and seat, and sat down waiting for his turn, just like every other league, the Kalos league has thousands of trainers who have earned eight gym badges and now it is time for the league to weed them out so only 128 trainers remain and these 128 will move on to the main league.

Julian didn't have to wait long at all, he was called up along with a few more trainers as multiple battles will be held in small battlefields at the same time.

As Julian entered one of the smaller stadiums and when the crowd noticed him, they burst into cheer, they started to shout his name as loud as they could, Julian also looked at the crowd and waved back at them, the other trainers present in the stadium were envious of Julian seeing how the crowd views him, they look at him as a messiah.

Only one trainer on the battlefield was not so envious or thrilled as others because he is Julian's very first opponent, when he found out that his very first opponent will be Julian, his dream of being the 128 of this year's League shattered, he wanted to get to the top 128 positions and maybe even further and then ask his lifelong crush out on a date.

He believed being in the top 128 will surely impress the girl he likes but now his dreams and desire are shattered, his very first hurdle is The Julian, even champions of several regions couldn't defeat him, how could he, a trainer with little experience compare to Julian and his monster-like pokemons.

Many referees took the battlefields they were assigned to and asked the trainers to get ready, Julian took his position on the battlefield and looked at his opponent, a young teenager about 15 to 16 years old is standing opposite of him and is quite nervous and down, Julian understood the boy but he couldn't do much.

Anyone would be down and depressed if they were Julian's very first opponent.
