Chapter 1148 - The First Battle

Julian looked at the young trainer in front of him and felt pity for him, Julian always felt pity for his very first opponent during the league, no matter how good of a trainer they are or how strong of a pokemon they have, they will have less chance of advancing to the top 128.

If they were facing some other trainer they would at least have a fighting chance to advance into the top 128 without suffering any major loss but if they are facing Julian in their very first battle, they will lose and they will have to go on and win three continuous battle and that might still not guarantee their place in the top 128, these people who have three wins and one loss will have to face each other and fill out the remaining spots.

Julian watched as the trainer in front of him struggled to take his spot in nervousness, once he finally took his spot the annoyed referee began the battle as soon as he could.

Referee "This will be a one vs one pokemon battle, both trainers can choose any pokemon of their choosing, the winner will advance and battle other trainers, trainers with four-nil records will automatically advance to the top 128, trainers with three victories and one loss will battle others with the same record to advance to the top 128, any trainer with more than one loss will be eliminated from the tournament".

The Referee explained, hearing the rules, Julian's opponent started to feel the pressure, he knew that he will have to win the next three rounds so that he can have a chance to advance to the top 128 and get enough credit to ask out the girl of his dream.

Referee "Both trainers choose your pokemon".

He said.

Julian didn't waste any time and sent out his very first pokemon into the battlefield, his first pokemon to enter the league is Abomasnow, Abomasnow entered the battlefield and roared, he started to beat his chest and spewed out snow out of his mouth, this Abomasnow doesn't resemble the timid and scared Snover that Julian had rescued.

It is now a confident and powerful pokemon that can stand on its own, Julian's opponent hesitated but couldn't delay any further, seeing Julian's choice, the opponent decided to use a fire type pokemon as it will have an advantage over a pokemon like Abomasnow which is four times weaker to fire type attacks.

He sent out a Talonflame, Julian looked at the Talonflame and saw that it was quite well trained but it is no way near Abomasnow strength, it of course has a winning chance if Julian's opponent is the best trainer in the world but Julian doubts it.

Now that both trainers have their pokemon on the battlefield, the referee didn't fool around and started the battle.

Referee "You may begin the battle"

He said and waved the flags in his hand.

As soon as the referee gave the signal, Julian's opponent made the move, he was not going to give Julian any time to attack him, he will go down hitting hard and fast.

"Use Flare Blitz". The teenage trainer shouted with a lot of passion and dedication behind it, hearing his order, his Talonflame flew high up in the air and dove down at Abomasnow with full speed, its body sparked flames and soon got engulfed by it, the temperature of the flames around its body was pretty high and it also seems to be highly explosive as well.

In a matter of a few seconds, Talonflame was already very close to Abomasnow and no matter how tough Abomasnow is, a powerful attack like Flare Blitz will hurt.

Julian saw the daring move from his opponent and was impressed but this was also suicidal in Julian's eyes, he is going to start this league with a bang.

Julian "Use Focus Punch"

Hearing Julian's command, Abomasnow started to channel all his power in his right fist and waited for the very last second till Talonflame came in striking distance.

As soon as Talonflame got a meter away from Abomasnow, he punched, a powerful straight right, his right hand glowed white in color filled with destructive energy.

As both moves came in contact, the force that is created shook the whole battlefield, even other battles that were being held in the vicinity were forced to stop as they felt the powerful shockwave wash through the whole battlefield.

Everyone both in and out of the battlefield had their attention to the massive explosion that just took place, a second after, the Talonflame could be seen shooting out of the mushroom cloud leaving behind a trail of smoke.

The Talonflame then crashed right in front of its trainer, knocked out cold, the crowd then burst into cheer and loud applause, the name of Julian echoed all over the stadium as they cheered for him.

As the smoke cleared up, Abomasnow could be seen standing with scratches on his right arm while his whole body is covered in black marks, they are not cuts or burn marks, they are dust from smoke, the only visible injury is on his hand.

Referee "Talonflame is unable to battle, Abomasnow wins.. 1-0 in favor of trainer Julian".
